What do you like best about Arctera Backup Exec?

It supports deduplication of data. It allows you to write data on tapes. Installation and upgrade process is not complex at all. Very good and very fast IT Technical support.

What do you dislike about Arctera Backup Exec?

Sometimes BackupExec agent overloads Windows OS. I have noticed such problem on one of our domain controllers. Log files by default are being too much generated and you need to tune Windows Registry, to get rid of them.

In Anomaly detection - it is not possible to understand, what exactly has happened. For example - on domain controller. We see notifications, but have no idea, what happens, what has increased, which exactly folder.

What do you like best about Arctera Backup Exec?

What do you dislike about Arctera Backup Exec?

Cannot create multiple backup jobs in a queue which would ensure subsequent backups start ASAP after the previous ones complete. We have no way of knowing exact timing of how long a particular server would complete backup so we estimate. E.g., SVR01 starts at 8 PM and usually takes < 4 hrs. so SVR02 is scheduled for midnight. However, some days SVR01 takes > 4 hrs. It would be nice if we could "link" multiple jobs together. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you like best about Arctera Backup Exec?

I have full backups every night almost 2TB that complete quite reliably. Some issues with external usb drives going offline and back online to cause a failed backup. Exchange backups must be done in two different ways in order to cover your butt and clear log files after a full agent backup. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Arctera Backup Exec?

Support is mainly overseas, and there may be a language issue. Support likes to collect all logs before beginning, delaying solutions for several days while they review the logs. Virtual full backups of exchange do not relieve log files. Now after the latest Veritas BE 21 update, exchange log files are deleted! Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
