What do you like best about Arctera Backup Exec?

Veritas backup software is a friendly user backup software which is safe and secure by all means and well protected with all features including cloud storage protection as well.

The best GUI which i have ever seen compared to other complex softwares and with a very good track record of backing of Veritas for a long period in the backup industry as a leader.

The ease of use for any simple new user with very minimal clicks to enable, schedule or restore backups is the core of this application Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Arctera Backup Exec?

Login screen to be enabled with MFA enabling is one point which i would prefer to be enabled with users being given acess based on their roles which is not there. In simple terms Role based access control to be enabled.

Also the report generation is not automated in such a way that it can be saved in a different location in a different server which has to be done manually which is a very time consuming and a monotonuous task Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What problems is Arctera Backup Exec solving and how is that benefiting you?

It helps in restoring data w.r.t to any application or file server with ease and minimal timing rather than complex workarounds in other backup applications which i have seen already

Also scheduling the jobs once and automated is a very good feature based on the requirement of the stake holders of the concerned server.

The simple licensing method is another benefit which is quite not common feature in other backup applications.

What do you dislike about Arctera Backup Exec?

Sometimes the software becomes unresponsive.

The simplest thing to delete a backup after being duplicated to another media it's impossible to do easily. It's very difficult in terms of bandwidth to do a backup to a server in a remote location even if the destination storage is in the same location. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you like best about Arctera Backup Exec?

It doesn't matter who owns BackupExec, the application remains fundamentally the same. Tons of backup options for any type of destination storage location. The remote server agent is lightweight, and just works. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Arctera Backup Exec?

Reattaching moved or 'lost storage' (say after a reinstall) is painful. Catalog works, inventory usually fails (but at least now completes all files except those failed!). Updates on remote agent always require reboot. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What problems is Arctera Backup Exec solving and how is that benefiting you?

BackupExec is used for non-critical server backups on local storage (Critical backups use offsite DRAAS). It also does production backups to cloud (Monthly for 6 months).
