What do you dislike about Appdome?

At the beginning of the integration, we encountered an issue when building the iOS application. Appdome required an additional file — the entitlements file — which is not typically requested explicitly during standard Xcode builds. This initially caused some confusion regarding how to properly generate and configure the file.

Third party SDK (Vida) make our app crash, and it's because conflicting between Vida SDK protection & appdome protection.

What do you like best about Appdome?

Appdome has been a key component in strengthening the security posture of our bank’s digital banking platform, particularly for our mobile applications. One of the most valuable aspects for us has been the ability to integrate multiple mobile security protections directly into the application without requiring extensive changes to the source code.

Features such as anti-tampering, root/jailbreak detection, anti-debugging, and protections against overlay attacks and screen recording have significantly improved our defense against mobile fraud and reverse engineering attempts. The platform allows us to quickly apply and update protections as new threats emerge, which has helped us maintain a strong security baseline for our mobile banking services.

Another major benefit is the ability to manage these protections through a centralized and streamlined process. This has reduced the operational burden on our development teams and accelerated our release cycles, since security controls can be incorporated without deeply modifying the application code. In practice, this means we can respond faster to emerging risks while maintaining a stable and secure user experience.

Additionally, Appdome has helped us identify and evaluate the behavior of different protections in real-world scenarios during testing and production rollouts. This has allowed us to fine-tune the balance between strong security controls and application usability for our customers.

A particularly valuable addition has been the AI support agent, which has significantly improved our experience when tracking and managing support cases. What do you dislike about Appdome?

During the first implementation, the platform can be somewhat challenging to configure, especially when enabling multiple protections at the same time. Since each protection can interact differently with the application, identifying the right combination of controls often requires several iterations and testing cycles. For organizations implementing mobile security protections for the first time, it would be very helpful if Appdome could provide a clearer baseline configuration or recommended starting profile for banking or high-security mobile applications. In addition, step-by-step guidance on how to progressively enable protections and validate them during testing would help reduce the initial learning curve and accelerate adoption.

Another area that could be improved is the build limitation model. In the mobile development environment, applications typically go through frequent updates, testing builds, and multiple iterations across development, QA, and production pipelines. Because of this, build limits can become restrictive and may slow down testing or security validation cycles. A model that better reflects the realities of modern mobile development—such as more flexible build quotas or CI/CD-oriented usage tiers—would make the platform easier to integrate into continuous delivery workflows.

Overall, Appdome provides very strong capabilities for mobile application protection. Addressing these aspects—particularly simplifying the onboarding experience and adapting the build model to mobile development practices—would further improve the platform’s usability and adoption in enterprise environments such as digital banking. What problems is Appdome solving and how is that benefiting you?

Before implementing Appdome, protecting our mobile banking applications against advanced threats required significant coordination between security, development, and external providers. Implementing protections such as anti-tampering, root/jailbreak detection, or protections against dynamic instrumentation typically required code changes, additional development effort, and longer testing cycles. This created friction between security requirements and the need to maintain frequent mobile releases.

After adopting Appdome, we were able to integrate a wide range of mobile security protections directly into the application build process without modifying the application source code. This allowed our security team to introduce advanced protections—such as anti-tampering, anti-debugging, overlay attack protection, and anti-fraud controls—while keeping the development process largely unchanged.

One of the most important improvements has been the ability to implement and adjust security protections much faster. Previously, introducing new protections could take multiple development cycles. Now, we can evaluate and apply additional protections during the build process and validate them during testing, significantly reducing the time required to strengthen the application’s security posture.

This approach has also improved collaboration between security and development teams. Security controls can now be tested and iterated without requiring deep changes in the application code, which helps maintain short release cycles while still raising the level of protection for our digital banking platform.

Overall, Appdome has enabled us to implement advanced mobile application security controls in a faster and more scalable way, improving our ability to protect sensitive financial transactions and respond to evolving mobile threats without slowing down our development and release processes. We were trying to prevent bots from using our app to hack into our users's account. We also wanted to use.mITM and RASP tools to limit traffic to our APIs. As soon as we implemented it, we saw an immediate decrease in bad actors using our app. We had a pen testing company go through our app before we released it with the protections and they gave the app nearly a perfect score.
