Ant Renamer is a lightweight, open source software program for the batch renaming of files and folders. Along with being easy-to-use, Ant Renamer provides a massive list of flexible options for applying various renaming rules (ex. String Insertion, Change Case, etc.) to a batch of files. The interface is also very easy to understand, with all controls divided between three tabs. Perhaps my favorite aspect of Ant Renamer is how quickly it works. Using it, I've been able to rename thousands of files in a fraction of the time it would take other programs. In my line of work (graphic design), Ant Renamer is a vital tool that I find myself using every day. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
As an open-source project, Ant Renamer seems to be primarily maintained by one private individual, instead of by a corporation that specializes in development. Thus, the software isn't updated very frequently, nor are new features added with any regularity. This isn't a massive issue for me, as I am already satisfied with the software, but this may disappoint users looking for more. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
