By performing structural analyses on fully-featured CAD assemblies within minutes, SimSolid is the game-changing simulation technology for designers, engineers, and analysts. It eliminates geometry preparation and meshing: the two most time-consuming, expertise-extensive, and error-prone tasks performed in a conventional structural simulation. Multiple design scenarios can be simulated quickly under real-life conditions. Early CAD models, in any common format, can be used. SimSolid tolerance of imprecise geometry means that, unlike CAD-embedded simulation tools, there is no need to simplify complex geometries before analyzing designs. **What do you like best about Altair SimSolid?**

I use Altair SimSolid mainly for SES simulations post static and dynamic. I find that it makes simulations run much faster, especially useful when we're on a time crunch. It has a very intuitive GUI and helps to solve problems without requiring me to mesh the entire model. I also appreciate how it organizes all the parts easily. The identification of the board diameters is incredibly helpful, as it's usually a big problem. Overall, it helps me get my work done really fast, and the initial setup was very easy with minimal manual integration.

**What do you dislike about Altair SimSolid?**

I believe the token count for our system can be reduced. It consumes 50 right now, so it would be better if it consumed less.

I like Altair SimSolid's 'Measles' feature because it helps solve simulations in less time while achieving approximately the same results compared to traditional processes. Also, the initial setup was great, which was a big plus for me.

I find local refinement to be a bit of an issue. In certain areas, like when there's a 3mm hole, and I want to refine the mesh near it, it's not possible.

I find Altair SimSolid invaluable for quasi-static elastic simulations of parts and assemblies in aerospace. It hugely expedites the sim-iteration pipeline, enabling quick optimization of parts. What I like most is the meshless FEA, which eliminates the most time-consuming and error-prone aspect of traditional FEA—meshing. Instead of spending lots of time determining mesh sizes and refining mesh where stress concentrations exist, SimSolid allows you to skip that step entirely. Additionally, the initial setup of Altair SimSolid was very easy, and they offer a better enterprise solution along with an appealing startup package.

**What do you dislike about Altair SimSolid?**

The undo button is missing, which can be frustrating when I make mistakes and need to redo work. Also, the built-in tools for post-processing are limited, so I often have to use Excel for more advanced data analysis. Finally, it would be great if SimSolid decks or results could be exported out to Inspire or HyperMesh.

**What do you like best about Altair SimSolid?**

So, what I like most is the integration of Altair SimSolid, because it allows me to use it under a user interface that I already know. It is also relatively easy to teach other designers, as they only need to know one interface. I also like that it is not necessary to mesh. That is actually the main reason. The results, as far as I have seen, are usable. In most cases, we have had good experiences for a quick and rough assessment. It is also important to me that one can quickly and intuitively get into the interface. This has been well achieved with Altair SimSolid. Additionally, I like that I can switch between the OptiStruct interface and the solver to quickly check if it works the same way with a mesh-based solver as it does with Altair SimSolid.

**What do you dislike about Altair SimSolid?**

The biggest problem is identifying the differences between a network-based solver and a non-network-based solver. Especially in special cases, it can happen that Altair SimSolid provides results that do not meet expectations. It would be important to explain these differences and bring Altair SimSolid closer to the correct solution, even if this is a lengthy process. I have not seen concrete examples in my daily life, but there have been academic papers on the subject that were sent to me.

Altair SimSolid solves the problem of not having to mesh large or complex assemblies, which saves us time. The integration into familiar user interfaces makes it easier to use, and we quickly obtain useful results for an initial assessment.
