Together, these tools really allowed us to broaden and expand our data, while also checking and testing for consistency across our brands and product lines. **What do you dislike about Akeneo PIM?** So I think actually our biggest complaint has been the fact that we cant actually PIM to PIM right now. We have some customers of ours that our implementing Akeneo themselves and we can't actually plug in and give them the data. To our knowledge our only way to share that data is still via exports and emails, but it would be so much easier if we could just go PIM to PIM and data share across the shared system. **What problems is Akeneo PIM solving and how is that benefiting you?** Our biggest problem across the board was data consistency. I think internally we had 3-5 separate data tables, all of which were key and filled with product information, but rarely matched and had consistent data. Our item component data as an example fell by the wayside so as we add new product and expand our catalog, we never added the data or the data points needed for the new product, leaving our data with significant and noticeable gaps across all of our channels. With PIM we are able to identify a single source of truth, shrink our tables down into one primary information hub, and share consistent and consise data across all of our systems. I also appreciate the bulk import and bulk edit features that speed up the enrichment process by allowing me to handle large amounts of data instead of filling out each attribute individually. **What do you dislike about Akeneo PIM?** I think user friendliness could be improved by introducing more features that exist already for other popular applications. For example, instead of individually clicking each SKU to do a sequential or bulk edit, changing it to where you could select one SKU, hold down the shift key, and select up to a certain point. It would allow me to select individual SKUs much faster instead of having to select all and then unselect some. In regards to bulk imports, I think it could be improved by AI ingesting that data and then putting it where it needs to go because we currently have to organize and format everything before importing. **What problems is Akeneo PIM solving and how is that benefiting you?** Akeneo PIM organizes my data in a digestible manner and allows me to push data downstream. A few of my favorite features are "Bulk Edit" where you can define which products you want to target and then update them all at once. Or the "Rules" where you can set up automatic rules to enrich products based on almost limitless parameters and then do a lot of different kinds of enrichment to said products. Being able to set up roles and responsibilities for different kinds of users is very helpful. Tailored imports are also very helpful! Being able to set up imports with our ERP systems through scheduled tailored imports helps us to keep up to date catalog information within our PIM system and it was so easy to do! I use all of these features on a daily basis and it has made our product management so much more streamlined. I also can't say enough good things about the customer support team who are always prompt and helpful! It does have a free version but its very limited and after that it is a significant cost for a small or mid market manufacturing company. The Akeneo team is very easily reachable and always attentive to our needs. They are responsive, particularly in the development of features and attentive to market trends. Moreover, the tool has an intuitive design, with point-and-click and drag-and-drop features which makes it easy to set up your initial architecture (both from a product data model as from product data migration point-of-view). Users find it very easy to use as well. Thirdly, as we have an entire landscape of components, it was vital that Akeneo offers OOTB connectors to various tools. We have now set up an initial API connection to our target components and we are using various OOTB connectors such as the DAM connector. It is also a reassurance that Akeneo itself is investing in a robust connection model (we are not on the newest Data Platform yet, but looking forward to exploring the possibilities). Finally, when things go well, a company is good, but where companies excel is when things don't function: there is a good follow-up of questions and issues, you can contact their helpdesk directly and there will be a follow-up with either a solution or a proactive addition to their backlog. This really gives the feeling that (customer) suggestions are being taken to heart. **What do you dislike about Akeneo PIM?** When working in a complex architecture, it is custom to have several environments such as production, test, development. There is no out-of-the-box feature to quickly deploy new features to another environment. We managed by setting up several export profiles and while this does work, a more user-friendly and especially holistic model should be set up. Some features are great but can still be fleshed out more: the ability of following up the completeness and quality level of your enriched products is great however not flexible enough, users who want to tweak this themselves will be disappointed. Akeneo PIM - Serenity Review **Rating:** 3.5/5.0 stars **Reviewed by:** Verified User in Information Technology and Services | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.) **Reviewed Date:** September 17, 2023 **What do you like best about Akeneo PIM?** The most helpful tool is the import profiles, it speeds up input from other sources and removes manual work. Akeneo also has 24/7 support available, so requesting for help to trouble shoot issues can be resolved quickly. Our subscription is on the Serenity versions so I see the updates on our PIM immediately and most of the upgrades have been helpful. **What do you dislike about Akeneo PIM?** The PIM is very inflexible for the way our company wanted to use it. The UI is very rigid and permanent elements takes most of the screen space when editing products. Certain fields have inflexible UI that is also very hard to manipulate. We are not able to fully utilize and understand the capabilities of the PIM such as entities, product variants, association as set up takes too much time and work and our SI was not much of assistance. API connections are also limited and would require additional external coding in order to cater to the e-commerce platform that we are requiring. There are also frequent bugs that occur like automatically rearranging the media under assets collection, and other unauthorized changes to the product under user "System - Removed User". **What problems is Akeneo PIM solving and how is that benefiting you?** Organizing products ready for client usage. PIM organizes all data regarding our products into one place and keeps them organized into proper folders that keeps them sorted and ready to be exported to our e-commerce platform in our preffered asset management. Automation of population to the E-commerce platform. Once we were able to connect the PIM to our e-commerce site, the upload of assets has become automated which means we removed an extra step in our internal processes of having to deliver assets to one team and having that team download and upload everything to the e-commerce site. Streamline the workflow and dissemination of approved assets for client consumption. With the workflow in place, members does not need an extra step to communicate if the assets they see are ready for client use as specific managers would need to approve data uploaded by the team for them to appear on the members accounts, adding an extra layer of security for deliverables. ### 48. It's also been instrumental in the launch of our new e-commerce site. **What do you dislike about Akeneo PIM?** The SI ecosystem could use a lot of work. We ended up with a SI who was not capable. **What problems is Akeneo PIM solving and how is that benefiting you?** Lack of data integrity in legacy systems. ### 49. The speed while navigating between different products is really fast and the interface has a logic setup. The ensures a fast learning growth for new users.
