I love Adobe's recent AI upgrades, especially Text-Based Editing and Bulk Pause Removal. On our recent marketing project, our speaker used a lot of filler words and long pauses. Instead of hunting through a complex timeline, the AI generated a text transcript where all the dead air and "umms" were automatically highlighted. With just one click, the tool deleted every single pause across the entire video. Adobe instantly cut the footage and perfectly snapped the closed captions into place. While working on project I found two main bottlenecks for my team: No custom glossaries: The AI struggles with our specific brand names and technical terms. Because I can’t upload a pre-approved glossary, my team wastes project hours manually correcting the same specialized words across multiple video files. Clunky multi-language tracks: When I'm managing separate subtitle tracks for global localization, I can’t easily batch-edit or reposition text blocks across different language tracks at the same time. Recommendations to others considering Adobe Closed Captioning: If you’re planning to use Adobe Closed Captioning in Adobe Premiere Pro, I would recommend it, especially if you’re already using Adobe tools. It really helps speed up caption creation with its speech-to-text feature and easy editing options. That said, I wouldn’t rely completely on the auto-generated captions. I usually review and fix them because the accuracy can vary depending on audio quality and accents. It’s also worth spending some time learning the caption settings and workflow. Once you get used to it, things become much easier and faster. I try to keep my captions simple and properly timed so they’re easy to read. You can also adjust the style (like font, size, and position) to match your video and make it look better. Before, creating captions manually it took a lot of time. Now the speech-to-text feature generates captions automatically, which saves my time and effort. It also makes my videos easier to understand for more people which is increasing my video reach , including those who can’t hear the audio or who simply prefer watching without sound. Captions can also improve reach, since many people watch videos on mute, especially on social media. Editing is easier as well, because I can edit and manage captions within the same tool instead of switching to other software. I used to pay for Descript but decided to cancel my subscription after Adobe released their own version of captioning. It doesn't include all of the features of Descript, but having the ability to automatically create captions directly in the timeline of the project you're working on is really worth it in the end. Editing a video, exporting it, uploading to Descript, generating the .srt, importing the .srt to your timeline in Adobe... it's all a huge slowdown to one's workflow. Besides that in general the adobe suite has pretty much every software and tool needed for whatever task you have at hand. BUT, it also remains quite inaccessible to everybody due to its price, now you have to subscribe, you can't just buy the software and spect it to be relevant in a few months or even less.
