## A Small Orange Reviews
  ### 1. There is no worse customer service.

**Rating:** 0.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Daniel R. | Cofounder, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** October 20, 2023

**What do you like best about A Small Orange?**

Prices are competitive and customer service USED to be good.

**What do you dislike about A Small Orange?**

There is no worse customer service. Oh and they renew your services prior to the renewal date in an attempt to lock you into a contract.

**What problems is A Small Orange solving and how is that benefiting you?**

None. They should cease operating. The customer support has become so poor in recent years that I couldn't recommend their services to anyone.

  ### 2. Never use A Small Orange!

**Rating:** 0.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Matthew L. | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** February 15, 2023

**What do you like best about A Small Orange?**

Nothing. It used to be their prices, but they've raised prices on my every year. Now, their prices aren't even competitive. Especially with the poor server quality they now have.

**What do you dislike about A Small Orange?**

Their customer service used to be alright. It might take a day to receive a ticket response, but I usually had no problem getting someone to help via their support chat. HOWEVER, over the last couple of months, they did something, made some change, that resulted in over 10 seconds server response times when fetching my websites. Unacceptable! I asked them what was up. Perhaps a server configuration issue? Their response was "nothing is wrong on our end. It's probably your home internet." They tried to gaslight me while they raised my rates every year while rendering my websites unusable. I moved all my properties to a more well-known host and haven't looked back. This company has turned into hot garbage. You'd be wise to stay far away from them and save yourself a lot of headaches.

**What problems is A Small Orange solving and how is that benefiting you?**

They haven't helped me solve any problems. They've created more problems. I run a small web management/design service as a side hustle and used them to host many websites for customers. They have made my job increasingly more stressful when I have my customers calling non-stop asking why their website won't load or are timing-out.

  ### 3. The worst hosting company

**Rating:** 0.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Aditama . | Web Developer & Network Admin, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** December 06, 2022

**What do you like best about A Small Orange?**

Transparent pricing, simple packages that they offered. Very easy to get started

**What do you dislike about A Small Orange?**

Their level of support service perhaps the worst among hosting provider. Chat support barely have access to anything, most of the case they are just a good listener. While ticket support who got the tools to solve problems will response back after 4-5days, yet without clear solutions. Many times I have experienced cloud VPS server goes down for days without any support, no one explain or telling you it will be fix or not. Strongly suggest not to go with A Small Orange if you are looking for reliable hosting partner.

**What problems is A Small Orange solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I've been using their cloud VPS service for 2+ years. Many complaints submitted about how slow their tech support to solve server issues. But yet, nothing change, no improvement.

  ### 4. Do not go with them, you will regret it

**Rating:** 0.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed Date:** June 30, 2022

**What do you like best about A Small Orange?**

Nothing, I'm sorry, had a very bad experience with their support. They may be considered "value for money" but do you really want to pay for something that hardly works? I'm in a process of moving away from them, they've been nothing but trouble. They've just started some "migration" that they never warned me about with my website AND my email down for 2 days and was told that all emails sent to me will be lost, incredible poor service. Please do not go with host nine or A Small Orange (new company name), if you do, you will regret it

  ### 5. I like this web hosting company

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Brock S. | Web Development Specialist, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** May 12, 2022

**What do you like best about A Small Orange?**

Simply put, a Small Orange has good pricing and quality services. They have a team of customer service people that can manage most of our issues and are generally easy to get a hold of in some way or another. The hosting speeds are solid enough for most of our uses. We can import files smoothly from other websites and also export files to other web hosts. The hosting service works well with other domain name registrars.

**What do you dislike about A Small Orange?**

The hosting management account works fine, but I think some design inefficiencies make the hosting management experience a bit better at other web hosts.

**What problems is A Small Orange solving and how is that benefiting you?**

A Small Orange is a good web posting company overall. We can count on them to launch our hosting services quickly and efficiently. We can also get a hold of them to help manage any hosting issues or issues with features we may add to certain websites. Our websites are viewed by people in the public space, so we need to have a web host we can count on to stay online and perform well. A Small Orange does that.

  ### 6. We get what we need with A Small Orange

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Travis R. | Marketing Technologist, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** February 10, 2022

**What do you like best about A Small Orange?**

The plans are priced low at A Small Orange. We are allotted a decent amount of features and capacity limits from top to bottom. We don't need that many advanced features, so A Small Orange is a good balance for our basic website needs. A Small Orange stays current with major server updates and server-side software requirements.

**What do you dislike about A Small Orange?**

The customer support doesn't always understand our issues. We'll sometimes have to find answers on our own, even for seemingly general issues.

**What problems is A Small Orange solving and how is that benefiting you?**

A Small Orange has benefited us with its low-cost web hosting plans. We can host several websites with relatively good loading speeds. We have a web hosting management tool available to us that allows us to adjust settings for domain linking and other third-party service or software integrations.

  ### 7. Best web hosting company

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** ASHISH R. | Developer, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** March 14, 2022

**What do you like best about A Small Orange?**

Its service and support are the top level, they give services as fast as they can.
Its pricing are too good.
I used it soo many times and i sees it very easy to work with and they say that what you want you have to pay for than only which i like most.

**What do you dislike about A Small Orange?**

Nothing!!! It is a growing companies which i see one day will be the biggest company beacuse of its best facility and support.

**What problems is A Small Orange solving and how is that benefiting you?**

1. Website builder
2. Its dedicated servers .
3. Shared hosting services.
It also help me to take benefits of these facilty with very cheap price .

  ### 8. It just one of them

**Rating:** 0.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Financial Services | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** May 30, 2022

**What do you like best about A Small Orange?**

Price, but that's not all.
At the very least, technical support is required to provide customized services to customers.
It is clear that the service must be improved

**What do you dislike about A Small Orange?**

Technical support, customer service, service response
Lack of overall technical support
And since there are so many competing products, there is no reason to use it.

**What problems is A Small Orange solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Used to extend hosting resources
There were advantages of a convenient billing system and immediate use
However, the service is too inconvenient and the technical support is particularly difficult

  ### 9. Don't Do It. Find a non-EIG-owned web host.

**Rating:** 0.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Bryan B. | N/A, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** March 11, 2022

**What do you like best about A Small Orange?**

Used to be a good service with actual customer support.
CPanel is easy to use.

**What do you dislike about A Small Orange?**

EIG bought them and customer service evaporated. Takes forever to upgrade things like PHP versions. They make it difficult to cancel and remove payment options.

**What problems is A Small Orange solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Well, they charged me for services that I didn't want to renew, so I guess they helped me spend some money?

  ### 10. Rip off!!!!

**Rating:** 0.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Meirgul (Mia) I. | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** November 20, 2020

**What do you like best about A Small Orange?**

customer service people are good and professional like80%of the time. Somtimes, had to leave chat and get another person to resolve issue.

**What do you dislike about A Small Orange?**

I agree with previous comment this "inexpensive" jumps up with each year. I have paid $128 for hosting on my third year and no refund is going to be issued(only credit. The price above is with 20% discount to bare in mind. $86 is for domain hosting, SSL certificate $39.95 for one year and does not cover your subdomains. I have paid for a year and now regret it. It was on autopay). Initially, I paid only around $10.

**What problems is A Small Orange solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I am extremely upset with this company

  ### 11. A good web hosting company with helpful support people

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Henry L. | Design Coordinator, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** December 03, 2019

**What do you like best about A Small Orange?**

The pricing per month for the standard shared hosting plan is good and comes with many features that allow us to manage our hosting account features on our own. We get more than ample server storage space and bandwidth. We can also add unlimited domains, which is awesome so we don't have to activate separate hosting accounts for each website with a unique domain.

**What do you dislike about A Small Orange?**

I have not had any problems with our service at A Small Orange. We're not paying for the highest possible plan with the fastest page loading speeds out there, so we don't expect to get that even though plans like that are certainly available for purchase at other companies. In other words, we get good value for what we pay for, so we can't really dislike non-peak performance.

**Recommendations to others considering A Small Orange:**

A Small Orange is probably not one of the more well known web hosting companies, but they can be a good fit for companies that want good attention from their support staff and reasonable pricing with access to all the essential hosting and domain tools you'll need.

**What problems is A Small Orange solving and how is that benefiting you?**

A Small Orange is a web hosting service that has effectively hosted our business websites. We also host supplementary web pages and compact websites for marketing events and promotional services. With A Small Orange, we have access to a very capable technical support group just about any time we need to get in touch with them. We can also host a variety of different content management systems that often run smoothly and with little security issues.

  ### 12. A Small Orange is vital to our digital marketing business

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Chelsea V. | Social Media Specialist, Marketing and Advertising, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** October 11, 2019

**What do you like best about A Small Orange?**

I enjoy the usability of this hosting site. Customer service is easy to work with and has a timely response time.

**What do you dislike about A Small Orange?**

Nothing really, just wish we had discovered it sooner!

**What problems is A Small Orange solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Our clients like the affordability and friendly reminders when they need to renew their subscription. Plus when we launched our new site, we chose A Small Orange over others like Bluehost. We are also looking into private servers for our larger clients who would benefit from the faster download speed and added security.

  ### 13. Great Customer Service - Packages Could Be Better

**Rating:** 2.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Writing and Editing | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** January 31, 2019

**What do you like best about A Small Orange?**

I've received great customer service for billing questions and issues related to our website and domain. They even walked me through, step by step, fixing the website when I'd accidentally caused the site to become totally inaccessible. I felt I was getting a level of customer service that one usually pays extra for.

**What do you dislike about A Small Orange?**

They don't automatically include an SSL certificate, so unless you purchase that separately, your website will be less secure and perhaps downgraded by search engines. They now offer the option to purchase an SSL certificate through them, but it doesn't seem straightforward to getting it activated on your actual website. Perhaps their customer service will come in handy for this, but I find this to be a big inconvenience. For this reason, I plan to migrate my site.

**What problems is A Small Orange solving and how is that benefiting you?**

It was easy to get the website domain name and hosting setup, and everything was pretty hands off after the initial setup.

  ### 14. Small Orange, big platform

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Publishing | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** January 31, 2019

**What do you like best about A Small Orange?**

The ease of use is none other. The accessibility for new users and the fast and reliable hosting helps to ensure that your IT needs are consistently met.

**What do you dislike about A Small Orange?**

Sometimes the ease of use isn't so straight forward. The customer service can be difficult to get in contact with and the opportunity to create meetings to help other office personnel to understand the hosting service is not as reliable.

**Recommendations to others considering A Small Orange:**

Talk to your boss about giving Small Orange a try. The hosting services are great and the Customer Service is fantastic. They're always willing to set up an appointment to learn more about the services they provide and will help you understand their product better. Since changing to A Small Orange I've noticed our computers working faster and easier ability to access content from my own department.

**What problems is A Small Orange solving and how is that benefiting you?**

A Small Orange is a great IT hosting service. They're ensuring that our IT services are met and that our computers are in safe hands. The benefits are simple: the service is streamlined and take the difficulty of IT out of our hands and into the hands of the host.

  ### 15. Great for my online portfolio

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Leigh Anne Nicole R. | Apparel Designer, Apparel & Fashion, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** January 31, 2019

**What do you like best about A Small Orange?**

I really like the ease of use when downloading my scanned photos and png's or jpg's from Ai. It offers a sleek website.

**What do you dislike about A Small Orange?**

I wish that the cost was a little lower, although it is cheaper than other sites - I have often wondered if just sharing a PDF as a link would work just the same?

**Recommendations to others considering A Small Orange:**

Offer discounts for paying a year in advance - or 6 months at a time.

**What problems is A Small Orange solving and how is that benefiting you?**

It makes me more professional than the above option. I love that I can add interactive parts and compartmentalize my work.

  ### 16. Great service and support. Stable. Best value hosting I've experienced.

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Steven D. | Owner and President, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** July 20, 2018

**What do you like best about A Small Orange?**

I have used a lot of web hosts in the past, and I have always said that I can't tell you who is the best, but I can tell you which ones to avoid. A small orange (ASO) has bucked that trend. I actually actively suggest that people give them a try because I have always found there support to be extremely helpful (when needed -- which is infrequent), their portals to make sense and allow multiple different accounts to separate concerns between the multiple businesses I am involved in, and they price can't be beat. For simple hosting, they have small enough accounts that you don't over pay, and yet I have never had a significant downtime with their service, unlike many other providers I have used in the past. The enable SSH access with an authorized key, which really helps a Linux user like myself, and they have cPanel setup for those that don't need lower level access.

**What do you dislike about A Small Orange?**

I wish they handled domain registrations better so I could use them for that as well and reduce my number of service providers. However, their control panel for advanced DNS usage is very lacking and I usually avoid them for domains. Luckily they have clear and easy instructions on how to point your DNS to their hosts so they work well with others. It would be nice if I could remove the need for the additional provider though!!

**Recommendations to others considering A Small Orange:**

I was concerned when I had heard years back that they were bought by a huge group (Endurance International Group) but from my perspective not much has changed. I do think the prices have seen a moderate increase (they dropped the Tiny plan for awhile) and also support seems just slightly less knowledgable at times, but overall I am still happy. And they are loads better than any other web host I have used in the recent past.

**What problems is A Small Orange solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I work with many small groups (including friends' small businesses, my multiple ventures, my wife's salon, and my non-profit triathlon group). They provide us with the web hosting that is powerful and stable enough to support all these various entities (as well as a few personal sites for fun).

  ### 17. Professional but User Friendly

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Photography | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** January 31, 2019

**What do you like best about A Small Orange?**

The web hosting capabilities are more professional than companies like Wix which is nice and they are partnered with web developing and designing software which is nice.

**What do you dislike about A Small Orange?**

I dislike that it is not as well known and established as companies like Wix despite being better in my opinion.

**Recommendations to others considering A Small Orange:**

User friendly, cost effective, more professional solution for web hosting.

**What problems is A Small Orange solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Perfect for a small business like freelancers in my industry!

  ### 18. Great for small business

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Graphic Design | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** September 15, 2018

**What do you like best about A Small Orange?**

I have used them for over 10 years and love the customer service, and cost effective prices.

**What do you dislike about A Small Orange?**

They lack an easy e-commerce platform for first time users, so that is the only site I would not host there.

**Recommendations to others considering A Small Orange:**

Worth a chance for small business, especially if you are only static sites without the need to sell product.

**What problems is A Small Orange solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Quick customer service. Reminders to review, overall highly satisfied.

  ### 19. Too Notch Support

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Marketing and Advertising | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** May 29, 2018

**What do you like best about A Small Orange?**

What I liked about A Small Orange was how reliable its hosting was paired with amazing customer support.

**What do you dislike about A Small Orange?**

What I didn't like about A Small Orange was how high the cost of servers were.

**What problems is A Small Orange solving and how is that benefiting you?**

A Small Orange helped me save money. I paid for resources that I only needed. It was also a quick and painless set up for my WordPress site.

  ### 20. A Small Orange - Could Be Better

**Rating:** 1.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Scott O. | CEO, Program Development, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** July 12, 2016

**What do you like best about A Small Orange?**

Their prices are pretty nice, giving you some relatively good deals (especially on Black Friday/Cyber Monday when everything is like 75% off)

**What do you dislike about A Small Orange?**

They have some server/up-time problems and it seems their customer support has never quite recovered from the great crash of December 2015. Chat can take 30 minutes to get someone and it can take 3 days in between emails. It's gotten a little better though, so maybe it will continue to improve.

**Recommendations to others considering A Small Orange:**

Just make sure to do your research. If fast customer service is important to you ASO might not be the best choice. If you are going with ASO, stick around for their huge Black Friday/Cyber Monday sales they do, you can buy a whole years server for cheap.

**What problems is A Small Orange solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Hosting

  ### 21. What once was great hosting as devolved into bad hosting

**Rating:** 0.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Marketing and Advertising | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** October 18, 2016

**What do you like best about A Small Orange?**

At first, I had great uptime and service with A Small Orange. Starting with their low tier VPS, I was able to get a good price on a good server to get started hosting my sites.

**What do you dislike about A Small Orange?**

However, after some time (and the sale of the company), service declined big time. Outages are not uncommon now at all, they do not let you know about the outages till after and do not help you fix quickly enough.

**Recommendations to others considering A Small Orange:**

Avoid for now -- they need to improve support. I have moved to Siteground.

**What problems is A Small Orange solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Website hosting.

  ### 22. Reliable, affordable and great customer service

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Anna C. | Content Curator & Owner, Consumer Goods, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** June 21, 2016

**What do you like best about A Small Orange?**

Affordable, great customer service, and easy to understand. I've been with A Small Orange for 6 months and have no problems at all. If I Mrs up my blog, they help me get it back online quick. They are knowledgeable, have awesome personalities, and reliable!

**What do you dislike about A Small Orange?**

I have yet to really find anything that I dislike enough to complain about.

**What problems is A Small Orange solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Right now I'm working on getting my blog stats up to industry standard. I'm realizing the more evergreen content goes further than any other content!
