**What do you like best about Rosterfy?**

Rosterfy’s customization features feel unmatched. I’ve demoed quite a few VMS tools, and none of them really met the needs of our unique volunteer program. With the ability to use embed codes and the many integration possibilities, I believe Rosterfy is one of the best VMS tools available.

**What do you dislike about Rosterfy?**

I’d like to see Rosterfy improve its own training tools, because they’re currently quite limited in what you can do with them. On the plus side, you can integrate with an LMS or embed codes for trainings you’ve already created.

**What problems is Rosterfy solving and how is that benefiting you?**

One of my first tasks as a newly hired Volunteer Supervisor for a non-profit organization was to streamline our onboarding process. I tried demos for several VMS tools, and none of them felt as customizable as Rosterfy. I’ll admit the implementation process was a bit challenging since I handled most of the project independently; however, Keri Castellano was incredibly patient, easy to work with, and supported me every step of the way.

The automations, emails, checkpoints, and integrations have helped our organization increase annual volunteer onboarding from 3–5 volunteers to 12–20. When I first started using their services roughly 4 years ago, they were new to the game—the little guy. Since then, Rosterfy has come a long way, and I’m excited to see what’s next.

They recently added a support tool called "fin" that connects you to live support. Through this feature, I was connected with Raphael, who has been AMAZING. With the constant updates and improvements to the VMS tool, he’s always there to help me navigate changes and figure things out. Sarah Cotton is our account manager, and she’s been very helpful with my questions and also quick to reply.

Overall, they have a wonderful team of caring, efficient people. I’d recommend Rosterfy to other organizations (I’ve even presented our setup to other organizations).

**What do you like best about Rosterfy?**

I appreciate having everything in one place with Rosterfy, which simplifies managing HR, shifts, events, and communications. The system's ability to update information efficiently and integrate various functions is invaluable, saving us from using disconnected spreadsheets and multiple communication tools. The speed enhancements over recent months have improved its performance greatly.

**What do you dislike about Rosterfy?**

I find that the system is not intuitive at times, making it difficult to use without proper explanation. The terminology used within the system is confusing, especially terms like shift user and event shift user, which makes the process challenging. Additionally, performing simple tasks often requires clicking through many buttons, which slows down the workflow. Bulk updating people's shifts is tricky and integrating other necessary processes, like the virtual interview process, is not possible, which is limiting.

I find the product integrates various functions, streamlining HR management and event advertising, reducing reliance on multiple systems like spreadsheets and emails.

Onboarding new volunteers and automatically sending out 500-strong vollunteers for DBS and training when required. This saves us a lot of admin.

**What do you like best about Rosterfy?**

It's really helped us bring the volunteer journey together. Now our volunteers can see the progress of their applications, apply for other volunteer roles and sign up for shifts and volunteer events all in one place.

The customer support has been good. They're open to helping us explore the best ways of using Rosterfy and will often come up with alternative ideas

**What do you dislike about Rosterfy?**

I guess there are still some limitations or things that don't exist yet. We've had a couple of bugs with links in emails which were fixed, but a bit frustrating for our volunteers for a little while. 

It does seem like new features are added frequently which is good and there is the option to submit your own feature requests.

We'd also really like it if our volunteers had a way of communicating with each other too.

**What problems is Rosterfy solving and how is that benefiting you?**

It's solved a lot of admin that was happening between volunteer managers and volunteers. With the automations functions volunteers can receive confirmation emails and reminders just by clicking 'sign up' to one shift. We've been able to build complete email journeys for a volunteer roles which really helps the volunteer to feel engaged, but also frees up time for volunteer managers.

Simple way to compliantly manage volunteer data whilst providing volunteers with a positive experience through up to date communications, through automations, being able to self serve information. 
Simplifying administration through pre determined processes and procedures, including integration with a payment system for taking and returning deposits. 

Prior to Rosterfy the programme was run off spreadsheets, a variety of forms and was very administratively heavy and open to error.

One of the standout features of Rosterfy is its adaptability. The system can be fully customized to match our company's branding, making it feel like an integral part of our organisation. Additionally, it can be tailored to meet our specific needs, with everything being automated to streamline processes.

While Rosterfy is a fantastic system, the onboarding process was quite long, which added significant pressure internally to get it up and running. As someone who does not come from an IT and systems background, I found the "Show you" and "Go Do" model to be less effective for us. However, once we got past the initial setup, the system itself has been excellent.

Reduced Administrative Burden: We went from spending 80% of our time on volunteer management admin to just 40%, freeing up valuable time to focus on strategic activities.

It's such a customisable system that you can really make work how you need it to, there is a lot of flexibility and I love the ability to set up automations within the system as well.

**What do you dislike about Rosterfy?**

As it's so customisable, it does take time and effort to build the system to work in a way you want to use it. This means it's not as easy as onboarding and being ready to go the next day, but the benefits outweight this in my opinion.

**What do you like best about Rosterfy?**

Rosterfy is a great Volunteer Management System which is highly configurable to our needs. It has been able to suit our current volunteer management processes very well, enabling switch to an online platform and integration to be very smooth. Furthermore, the Rosterfy team are great and are always on hand to support.

**What do you dislike about Rosterfy?**

The only thing it would be great for Rosterfy to be able to do is to connect our volunteers better so we can continue building a community for them. This would be beneficial for us to develop our volunteer programme.

Rosterfy enables the volunteer registration, application, allocation and management processes very streamlined and easy. Also, the tailored automated communications allow us to stay connected with our volunteers easily and saves many manual hours.

**What do you like best about Rosterfy?**

Rosterfy is a rather versatile program which requires planning upon the initial set up. We did the set up very similarly to an accounting software. Beginning with the Chart of Accounts, you'd want to set up a naming convention for your events so that it can be easily be searched using either the prefix or * wild cards. 

After that, it worked like a charm. The Rosterfy team is continually improving their software and we managed to fix a few rather large issues we had (the calendar mainly) after a software patch or two. Overall, it is simple enough to get the job done and stable enough to provide you with much needed information such as volunteer hours.

**What do you dislike about Rosterfy?**

Not sure if this is a user issue, but I can't seem to get the "reports" function for more complex reports (eg. number of shifts a volunteer has clocked in the year). 

Simple reports work like a charm. The Rosterfy team could consider making the report function as intuitive and user-friendly as the rest of the program.

**What problems is Rosterfy solving and how is that benefiting you?**

It tracks user data so that I'm able to pull a volunteer's history without turning to an excel sdpreadsheet. 

It also serves as a self-service platform for users, so that the administrator does not have to individually add volunteers into shifts.

The ability to be supported to design and contribute ideas to meet our organisation's needs.

Sometimes seems a little too complex, however I am not a tech person so could be my naive expectations. Will leave to our tech team to repsond accordingly.

The number of featurs certainly supports our community requirements, and we look forward to fine tuning these as we onboard and experience the processes in real time.

We are using Rosterfy to embrace and provide data capture and organisational tools to our partners in communities across Australia who are trained in, and then deliver our programs to their communities. NAPCAN have never had a platform or processes in place to establilsh 2 way dialogue in this way leaving us wanting for real time data.

**What do you like best about Rosterfy?**

Rosterfy has enabled me to kick the use of spreadsheets, which were previously used to manage and roster volunteers for NZ's most significant agricultural expo - Fieldays.

The communications feature is excellent. It eliminates multiple email replies of thanks from volunteers. It keeps a log of all communications sent in one place, easily traceable.

As we are still learning about all the functions of Rosterfy and how we have changed tact on how we set up our volunteer engagement and rostering, it is hard for me to comment until I am more settled in using the platform and its features.

**What do you dislike about Rosterfy?**

Product knowledge within the Rosterfy team is excellent; however, getting engagement in a timely manner had proven challenging, mainly when we needed advice on how to use features to benefit the overall performance of Rosterfy for our organisation.

Although I like the communications tool on the platform, once the comms are sent, there is no record of what was said, to my knowledge.

Lack of an APP, but I understand this is on its way, and we will have it in time for our next event - June 2024.

Rosterfy has been a rollercoaster ride for us in the 18 months we have been using it. There have been times when management asked, 'Is it still right for us'? I have confidence in the platform and hope that it will deliver what we need in the long term.

Rostering of volunteers; communication with volunteers; rewards and recognition (this is still in development and taking a little while to sort); file uploads all in one place; automation - saving so much time; database and collation of relevant information for each volunteer making it easier to find data on a person.

Rosterfy has allowed us to continue creating exceptional experiences with our volunteers, from the auto emails to efficiently communicate with their chosen preferences and options, as well as being able to track volunteer numbers across multiple events at once.

**What do you dislike about Rosterfy?**

One of the downsides is the amount of steps required to set-up an event in different tabs and having to make changes to not confuse volunteers, once it is set-up it is good to go - make a template and go from there.

Communication on bulk, tracking volunteer details and numbers for upcoming events. More automation process to allow more time to work with external groups or talk to volunteers on the phone.

Rosterfy is almost infinitely customizable, so we've been able to configure it to support our very specific internal processes very well. It's great and a big time-saver once it is fully up and running.

**What do you dislike about Rosterfy?**

Because it is so customizable, it takes a long time to learn how to set up and configure all the various components - it's definitely a steep learning curve. However, Rosterfy customer support is great so that really helps get you up to speed!

**What problems is Rosterfy solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Rosterfy helps us manage our volunteers - they create profiles that we use to find folks to match with various volunteer opportunities. We also use it to manage the process of volunteers applying and being selected for roles that have particular requirements.

**What do you like best about Rosterfy?**

The most helpful thing about Rosterfy is to be able to update some features in bulk and send personal and individual emails to a specific group of people. These features save a lot of time and are a clear upside of using Rosterfy.

Another helpful thing about Rosterfy is that it has allowed us to stop needing to input information in multiple spreadsheets and save them in different folders. All the information from the staff that we need is now all in one place: Rosterfy.

**What do you dislike about Rosterfy?**

Overall, there are not many things we are not able to do. However, one of the things Rosterfy could improve is being able to search users in shifts. This feature would allow us to see what shift is assigned to a specific user quickly. Since we do not have thousands of shifts and we only have one user per shift, we would like to be able to search for the user when updating specific information to their shift.

We have also encountered problems when sending emails with merge tags. A few times, the merge tags did not work, and our staff received emails that did not have the shift information. These errors created chaos and gave a reason to complain to staff who do not like using Rosterfy.

Rosterfy helps us communicate specific and individual information to multiple people at the same time in a simple and easy way. People receive personal communication without it implying writing hundreds of emails. Having had to work manually, without Rosterfy, for the first event of the season, it is easy to understand how benefiting is having Rosterfy simplify the process.

I’m struggling to think of something. It’s a bit more expensive than some options but when you start to use it you can see why. There are no issues from our point of view.

**What problems is Rosterfy solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Managing our volunteers was becoming a bit of a headache. We were never sure how many people we would have available and if we needed to communicate with them it can take hours. Rosterfy is one of a few options we looked at and we felt like their system could be customised how we needed it and we didn’t have to make too many compromises.

Rosterfy lacks some customizable features, but our Senior Client Success Manager is always willing to add our suggestions to Rosterfy's feature requests list. It would be amazing if Rosterfy had an app version as well.

Very easy to navigate through the volunteering section, the portal is extraordinary. The customer services team is great they solve issues for us. Very effective and organised team. It is very easy to use for all users and admins.

**What do you dislike about Rosterfy?**

No app till now when everyone else offers an app. Other than that, it is very expensive as the same product offered by competitors are way more cheaper and does exactly the same.

We wanted a volunteer management system for our events, Rosterfy provided us with a great SaaS technology that has helped our business in organising all the events and managing all volunteers. The product has been developing and offering new features from time to time that has helped us a lot in completing our events. It is overall an average platform, needs a lot of improvements and need to work on its pricing structure.

**What do you like best about Rosterfy?**

Rosterfy is one of the best staff and volunteer management software that has helped us automate our management system in one centralised platform. It has helped us manage training, recruitment, scheduling and communications with our volunteers, which has helped us retain them. The CSMs are superb, and the quality of support given after onboarding is world-class.

**What do you dislike about Rosterfy?**

To be honest, nothing in the space of disliking Rosterfy; in the volunteer management solution, we found Rosterfy unbeatable compared to competitors.

Rosterfy has helped us manage our volunteers, their recruitment and selection, communications, training and scheduling all in one place. With the help of the volunteers portal, we could reduce the admin work by many hours. Everything is designed in a way that every step becomes automated.

It is a great system to replace endless spreadsheets for volunteer data, saving time and making communications easier!  The end user (volunteer) interaction is relatively smooth if they have reasonable IT skills.

**What do you dislike about Rosterfy?**

I struggle with finding the answers to how to do things!  The user guidance isn't as succinct or as user -friendly as it could be and adds unnecessary time onto work.

It helps keep all our volunteer data in one place, supports communications with volunteers and allows a great view of volunteer engagement with the roles and events that we could not run with out volunteers' time.

The automations and custom fields allow me to build a bespoke workforce solution that fits our operation, it reduces the need for manual repetition of tasks and endless spreadsheets!

There is a steep learning curve with the system, and sometimes elements of the support section can be overwhelming, however it is worth persisting as once set up and you understand it you get huge value.

Efficiency and how we manage staff is much more secure, we have confidence everything is held in compliance with GDPR, we can send one email to multiple staff, each of whom receives bespoke details.

Throughout the usage, we haven't come across any dislikes for Rosterfy, except for the mobile app that Rosterfy currently does not have and it is under development
