PlanSource has made it easy to conduct Open Enrollment and benefits new hire benefits enrollments throughout the year.

It can be a little clunky, and new employees sometimes have a difficult time navigating through the enrollment process.

PlanSource allows us to maintain all of our employee benefits enrollments, billing, and reporting in one system. It has made it easy to manage benefits, help employees submit life changes, and make it a one-stop shop.

Plansource has many features and is pretty customizable.

I am not the biggest fan of the layout and design. The navigation is not as user friendly as it could be.

**What do you like best about PlanSource?**

Plansource tells you exactly how much you're contributing per paycheck. At other companies I've worked at, W9s, benefits, payroll breakdowns all sat on different platforms. It was a pain in the butt. Now that we're using Plansource I can login and see ALL my contributions, deductions, and even Health ID cards! It's saved me in a pinch.

**What do you dislike about PlanSource?**

I forget my username sometimes, and Plansource actually does not have an option to recover your username. You need to know the username of your account in order actually to reset your password, but I wish you were able to just verify via email or have two factor authentication. Luckily my Plansource admin was able to advise me of my username.

**What problems is PlanSource solving and how is that benefiting you?**

HR problems all the way. Without Plansource everything would either be done by paper, or ADP codes. In addition it's nice to only have to recall one login to access my benefits.

The billing process is daunting, and we have had many errors in the billing in the first year. We also are constantly comparing our records to theirs to make sure they apply payments correctly.

We are solving the billing issues. Our account management team always goes above and beyond for us.

The website is easy to navigate.  It does take some getting used to.

**What do you dislike about PlanSource?**

The tickets are oddly named and not intuitive to find.

**What problems is PlanSource solving and how is that benefiting you?**

For those are are not "full service" clients of PlanSource, there are a lot of areas that don't apply.  Maybe those could be blocked for non-full service clients.
ACA administration is good.

There have been a few issues with customer service working with employees—more of miscommunications.

No more paper enrollment!  A lot of time has been saved on the employer's side.

**What do you like best about PlanSource?**

- The core of the system does work and integrates with other carriers as intended.
- It also has by far the fastest integration I've seen with Anthem.

**What do you dislike about PlanSource?**

- Reporting system isn't very intuitive to create reports.
- Any upgrades have been focused on making UI prettier, but not more flexible or intuitive.
- There are many system limitations that do not allow you to set it exactly like you wanted.

**What problems is PlanSource solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I've given feedback to my OE rep and given comments on what I did not like about the system.  Instead of acknowledging it was system limitations she would focus on what employees should do instead even though my concern was that they would not do it as they would like.  For example, I made a comment that if someone selects an FSA amount and then deletes it in OE, it should go to $0 for the election, but it actually keeps the last amount entered even though it was deleted.  When I brought this up in testing, the response was "EEs should enter $0 instead of the delete button"

Super easy user friendly system, very easy to read and able to export details on your own.

**What do you dislike about PlanSource?**

Not very certain why there mass staffing changes, but we would like to remain with the same account manager.
In the time the district has utilized PS we have had 4 :(

Keep the same account managers for a longer period of time as good communication is established over time :(

Internal Ops are pretty messy, have to work with new AMs pretty often.

Works well with UKG (UltiPro). Gives discounts for using certain vendors.

Can take quite some time to get issues resolved.  Sometimes people you ask for help push resolutions back on you even when you have already tried to fix the problem.

We have almost 900 employees in 4 different states and a lot of benefit offerings.  Having a platform that works well with our time and attendance vendor (UKG) is a must.

It is a good system that houses the benefits that we offer.

It does not allow an election for our staff to decline FSA they have to add an election of $1.00.  Also, there is no integration with AFLAC or Legal Shield.

The problems we were having is a dedicated person to assist with technical issues.  the turnaround response was very slow.

sometimes the set ups do not function like I would like. example when an employee increases the life insurance the ADD is not automatically changed

**What do you like best about PlanSource?**

One of the things we love about the PlanSource platform is that we can easily administer a client who is constantly evolving. Building the platform out is easy to begin with and so making updates are as well. This makes the client happy as well as my staff. The employee experience is simple yet allows us to be informative and that translates to a great mobile experience for employees. None of our past technology has allowed employees to upload a copy of their qualifying life event proof which just fits in the world today. Nobody has those documents saved on a computer anymore, so it just makes sense that they be able to use their cell phone. PlanSource is always looking to update their technology to have the most relevant features and partners and the schedule on which they make updates means they take their time to do it right. We have found a great partner in PlanSource!

**What do you dislike about PlanSource?**

Sometimes we find some functions that don't make the most sense from a reseller standpoint vs a client using the system directly but we do have an ear that is listening to us and working with us to find a solution.

Ask detailed questions about functionality that you consider to be a game changer and ask for a demo.

We have gained many internal efficiencies as well as been able to have more client ownership over the system with the intuitive user experience.

**What do you like best about PlanSource?**

This has been a lifesaver for our company.  We have high turnover and often hire employees out of town.  Plansource allows employees to enroll at their convenience at home instead of turning in paperwork to the office.  I also love that it communicates directly to the carrier and I don't have to send each enrollment myself. 

**What do you dislike about PlanSource?**

The new interface is more difficult to navigate and some features disappeared. I find myself switching back to the old interface most of the time.

**Recommendations to others considering PlanSource:**

It's been very helpful for us, and I would recommend it to anyone looking for help managing their benefits.

Plansource has made the HR onboarding process so much easier.  It takes a lot of the burden off of small companies who don't have a full time person devoted to HR.

I like how the benefits are displayed on the new update. This seems more user friendly. The action bullets are amazing. That is a major plus with the new update. The new dashboard is probably the best thing about the new update.  All the information is right there in front. That is amazing.

**What do you dislike about PlanSource?**

I like the new update but the there are other things that are not easy to find or run like reporting. I suggest that PlanSource create a webinar with the new look and how to navigate. The only other issue that I have is the customer service on responding to inquiries. It takes over week or more. I have emails to prove. And I cannot understand how the new hire processing works after all this time so this is an option that we do not use anymore. It takes to long to upload new hire information and then it errors out if you do not have the correct format. This is very important for our company and if they were to change anything about PlanSource. Loading the new hires would be at the top of my list.

**Recommendations to others considering PlanSource:**

As I suggested, I believe that PlanSource should create a webinar on not only the new update but also what capabilities that PlanSource has. I believe that there are options that we are not currently using due to not knowing that they are available.

**What problems is PlanSource solving and how is that benefiting you?**

The issues that we have recently had resolved were due to open enrollment. Again, customer service was very slow on responding. This took almost two weeks to respond. My suggestion is either hire more employees are train the employees that you have.

**What do you like best about PlanSource?**

I like that we can now use PlanSource for online enrollments and that it will house all enrollments now for various vendors instead of going into 5 different platforms to sign people up for benefits. I also like that I have one person that I work with when I have issues. Maribel Medina has been awesome to work with. She's patient and works hard to get our platform working correctly. Our benefit structure is very complicated and she's been wonderful with getting it right.

**What do you dislike about PlanSource?**

I wish reporting options were a little more user friendly. I can't always pull the information I want, especially when it comes to ONLY changes for Open Enrollment. I have to sort through the information to pick out the changes. I also don't like that I can't delete people out of the system that are retired or no longer employed and I'm manually deleting them from reports.

I would love to have a little more control in the platform such as entering my own paragraph to explain benefits and be able to update that at any time rather than sending it to our rep to do. It would also be nice to be able to update our own costing. Our benefit structure is very complex and it would be nice to have more control over that so I can make sure it's calculating correcting rather than trying to explain how it should work.

I love working with Maribel. The downfall is the time difference. It would be great to have someone to work with in the morning especially when I need a quick fix. The alternative to that would be having the ability to update certain things myself.

Online Enrollment is a huge help as well as having all vendor enrollments in one spot. Still working out some kinks and getting used to the platform but it will be a huge time saver.

The biggest upside to using Plansource is the ease of use for our employees - from the portal to the contact center, I know our employees are getting correct information in a timely manner. The most important thing when choosing a benefit platform was the employee experience. 

**What do you dislike about PlanSource?**

The only dislike was during Open Enrollment configuration, it was determined that a few hard coded Spanish translations in the system were incorrect, and it took a few months to fix these issues. 

**Recommendations to others considering PlanSource:**

You're going to get a very high-touch experience with the PlanSource team. PS not only has the benefits technology to accurately represent your package to your employees, but a very high level of customer service to their administrators.

Plansource has taken a huge burden off of the benefit team's daily workload - from day-to-day administration such as invoice balancing and processing, to EOI and Life event monitoring. This has allowed our team to be more present in the strategic benefits conversations.

The greatest upside to utilizing Plansource is the usability for our workers - from the entrance to the contact focus, I realize our representatives are getting right data in a convenient way. The most significant thing when picking an advantage stage was the representative experience.

**What do you dislike about PlanSource?**

Nothing truly to disdain about the product. Just abhorrence is hanging tight for customization in the product and procedure because of our plan of action, yet that is not blame to Plansource.

**Recommendations to others considering PlanSource:**

I would prescribe month to month compromise to your statistics inside the framework to guarantee exactness or revealing. Give close consideration during your agreement restoration process; they have attempted to push enormous rate increments on us previously.

**What problems is PlanSource solving and how is that benefiting you?**

PlanSource has for all intents and purposes wiped out the manual advantages organization. Actually, I cherish that it has encouraged revealing, charging, following new contracts and incorporates a case the board include. Regardless of whether I don't make a move, I am consistently on the know about what PlanSource has finished with a given representative.

**What do you like best about PlanSource?**

I love how proactive our implementation and support teams have been - even the few times they don't know the answer off the bat. They are solution oriented. They really are knowledgeable of their software (front and back) and of benefits. The implementation allowed us to input all the rules we needed in our plans - something we didn't have with a previous vendor. Which resulted in easier billing! I feel like I can trust all the information in the system.

**What do you dislike about PlanSource?**

This is tough. There is not something that I truly dislike. There has only one instance in which a special pop-up box we requested had some code showing in the text portion. It took a couple of weeks to get resolved. It was inconvenient at the time just because it was "something for us to check back on" . However, our rep kept us updated of the change processed and followed through till it was resolved. 

**What problems is PlanSource solving and how is that benefiting you?**

PlanSource has virtually eliminated the manual benefits administration. Personally, I love that it has facilitated reporting, billing, tracking new hires and includes a case management feature. Even if I don't take action, I am always on the know of what PlanSource has done with a given employee.

The instant chats with Plan Source employees when you need an answer quick and they can walk you through the process

**What do you dislike about PlanSource?**

I dislike the search feature, you have to be very specific when typing a search.  It needs to include other words, we don't always remember the proper title.  Also the new Beta option, I turned this off, I can't seem to see the effective date and what I am approving when it comes to qualifying events.  Some employees like to use this time to cancel voluntary insurances instead of just making changes to the ones that pertain to the qualifying event.  Maybe a feature can be included in this segment.  Allow additions and not both additions and declining 

**What problems is PlanSource solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Problems I have been facing is what is in the confirmation page of an employee profile is not what is being billed on the monthly statement.  A Census needs to be generated to cross check those and sent over to carriers to make sure that they have the same coverages.

Their annual support team has been extremely helpful during this VERY BUSY time of the year.  They are so attentive and have responded quickly to all of our clients' inquiries as we went through configuration, testing, and the employees' annual enrollment window.  This makes such a big difference for our clients.  Honestly, out of all the client vendors I've worked with, PlanSource has stood out as going above and beyond:  very professional, exceptional attention to detail and outstanding responsiveness.  It has all made such a positive impact on our clients' annual enrollment experience.

**What do you dislike about PlanSource?**

I do not have any downsides to report about PlanSource at this time.

PlanSource is a full suite HRIS solution that is very intuitive and easy to use.

Client experience has been positive.  Attention to detail has been incredible.  Responsiveness second to none!

Plansource kept us on track with weekly status updates.  They provided a lot of support with set up and did most of the work to get us started on the back end. 

**What do you dislike about PlanSource?**

I haven't found anything that I would say I overall dislike. I think if you are multi state and have many different sub groups, plan set up can be a bit overwhelming with the different rules, but that is to be expected.

We are in the beginning stages of using PlanSource so we have not yet experienced any problems.  The benefit for us in using Plansource is having a much better communication tool for our benefit plans.

**What do you like best about PlanSource?**

Plan Source  has been an effective tool in helping employees learn about their benefits, at any time, 24/7.  Employee need to realize the value of their healthcare plan and we rely on Plan Source to help us do just that.  Plan Source allows us to manage our portal with the information we want to share with our employees to make them more engaged.

**What do you dislike about PlanSource?**

**What problems is PlanSource solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Plan Source has allowed us to provide our benefits information to our employees in an uncomplicated way.  Our employees still thank us for helping them understand their benefits every time they login.

Plansource is a benefit administration system that allows for other software system to be integrated with.

Plansource has presented some challenges for our benefit administration as the system can be slow, reports do not run as requested, and the system can be finicky with parameters for end users. I often find myself contacting our broker for assistance.

My predecessor worked with Plansource to integrate with our payroll and benefit carriers as she saw this as an opportunity on the workload. Plansource is helpful when the reports are pulling accurately.

What I like best is the ease of letting the system do all the work and get our employees enrolled in benefits.  Once setup its pretty hands off for my department.  

**What do you dislike about PlanSource?**

Nothing really to dislike about the software.  Only dislike is waiting for customization in the software and process due to our business model, but that's not fault to Plansource. 

**Recommendations to others considering PlanSource:**

Recommend if looking for very end user friendly product.   All benefit pages are customizable and easy for employees to understand what they are signing up for. 

**What problems is PlanSource solving and how is that benefiting you?**

It has freed up 1-2 people in my department for in-year enrollments.  It has also greatly reduced calls about benefits during annual open enrollment.  It has allowed our department to stay the number of people while our company has grown.

**What do you like best about PlanSource?**

The reporting is very robust and user-friendly.  It tremendously helps to cut my time in report preparation, etc. since I can easily click on essentially any report necessary.  And the benefit summary page for each employee is an easy, go-to view for each employee. 

**What do you dislike about PlanSource?**

I think from a member-perspective it could be more user-friendly.  Also I would like a few more capabilities on the employer side that would limit how often I need to seek help from the PlanSource service team.
Open enrollment needs to only give the "enroll-annual" option and not also the "make changes to my benefits" option.  It causes confusion.
Service would be better with one account manager/point of contact for each customer group.

**Recommendations to others considering PlanSource:**

I would recommend monthly reconciliation to your census within the system to ensure accuracy or reporting.  Pay close attention during your contract renewal process; they have tried to push large rate increases on us in the past. 

**What problems is PlanSource solving and how is that benefiting you?**

This platform aids me in self-invoicing during the year with various vendors, and certainly makes ACA reporting much, much simpler.  It also makes my job easier to have each employee's benefit elections all under one umbrella for viewing etc.

**What do you like best about PlanSource?**

The customer service from Troy Farnell and the HCM Service Team is what I like the best about PlanSource.  They are quick to help respond to any issue we have.  Second, would be the product itself.  It has improved our payroll, benefits and timekeeping experience, by integrating those functions.  The interface is fairly easy to use, once you learn where everything is.  The service is the best.  

**What do you dislike about PlanSource?**

We were disappointed with the implementation process.  We felt we did not get the kind of advising we needed about PlanSource's capabilities and how best to set it up for our needs as a company and that caused a lot of problems the first year.  I was very vocal with PlanSource about our disappointment and made recommendations to them on how they could improve the implementation experience.  The have great customer service, however, and problems that could be fixed were fixed.  And their customer service has been excellent ever since.  I do feel that PlanSource has redeemed itself after the poor implementation experience.  We have been very happy with it overall.  

**Recommendations to others considering PlanSource:**

Make sure your implementation team understands what your company's needs are, and ask a lot of questions and take your time with the process.  Expect to devote a lot of time to implementation. 

**What problems is PlanSource solving and how is that benefiting you?**

We use PlanSource for payroll, timekeeping, benefits and performance management.  It has streamlined things for employees, giving them one place to "do it all."  It has made our benefits experience much better, as benefits are incorporated with our carriers directly and with our payroll.  The customer service provided by Troy and the HCM Service Team has been exceptional.  That is very valuable.

It's a platform that is hard to get to talk to a payroll platform when it's not used as a centralized platform.

PlanSource is a 3rd party for us through OneDigital. It's a hard platform to get to push out the correct numbers on some of our benefits especially since we increase costs for no physicals. Sometimes I'll put that an employee has a physical, but it will never register the correct amount. 

**What problems is PlanSource solving and how is that benefiting you?**

PlanSource has made it much easier for us to get employees registered in benefits. This is the only area in which we use it, but it's beneficial for our tech-savvy employees to make changes and register on their own.

For our employees, having access to all of their benefit plans at any time truly provides a value add experience for not only the remote field employees but also their spouses.  It helps reduce the number of calls that my department takes throughout the year questioning their benefit plans.  

**What do you dislike about PlanSource?**

The only downside to PlanSource is the inability to connect with our current Payroll provider.  Granted, we knew this going into the implementation and was not a deal breaker for us.  We needed to streamline our benefits process and this provided us an avenue to do so.  

**What problems is PlanSource solving and how is that benefiting you?**

We truly have the ability to communicate better with our remote employees and their families.  PlanSource has provided us with a venue to improve that communication and also gives the employees and their families the opportunity to review and change their benefits if they need to without always calling my department.

I like that I can manage my employee benefits accounts with ease. I also like the quick response feedback I receive from PlanSource administrators when I'm in need of assistance.

I don't like that the program cannot correspond certain changes to certain carriers when updated in the system - I have to fill out an excel spreadsheet and send it to be manually entered.

I am not yet qualified to lend advise as I haven't utilized other benefits programs.

**What problems is PlanSource solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I no longer have to have new employees fill out paper copies of their benefits enrollment - they are prompted by a pre-filled email to enroll and the PDF is available once completed for my physical personnel files.

**What do you like best about PlanSource?**

I love the reporting in PlanSource, it's incredibly easy to build a report I need, schedule it out, or save it if it is frequent to my work. 
I appreciate the ACA compliance and intiuitive programming for employees is built within the system. 

**What do you dislike about PlanSource?**

There could be more flexibility in programming complex plans into the system, and often if feels like you have to make a backdoor solution. I also find it can take some time to hear back from members of the team. The work all plansource employees do is excellent, incredibly helpful and thought provoking, but it can feel frustrating as an administrator, as our processes aren't as inuitive. 

**Recommendations to others considering PlanSource:**

Prepare yourself for everything in your current system, and don't try to build anything to mimic what you had before, as PlanSource has it's own solutions that could work better than it previously did. 
PlanSource utilizes an ACA compliance team, a much needed resource in this day and time. 

**What problems is PlanSource solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Our payroll deductions for benefits have been massively simplified.
It balances our multiple payroll schedules extremely well. 
Employees feel they have control and we see increased engagement from our benefits package compared to our previous vendor.

We have been utilizing PlanSource for over 5 years. Prior to that, I would get lost in paperwork. Using the benefits platform has taken all that paperwork away. Making open enrollment so easy.

Sometimes other carriers have a difficult processing certain requests. PlanSource is always willing to do everything they can to work with the carriers, but the carriers sometimes do not work well in return.

It all flows so much smoother! Open enrollment, life change events, and new hire enrollment... All without paper. It saves time, energy, and file space!

**What do you like best about PlanSource?**

I love the fact I don't have to go through mounds and mounds of paper enrollments for 500 employees, 4 companies, missing information, can't read writing,etc.. Seeing everything the employee enrolled in on one page!  Being able to update beneficiary info and showing life events, especially if employee wants to have a copy, all the term dates, new enrolled dates, dependent info, everything is there.   I like being able to see what the employee elected and declined the previous year in the same page.  That way you can compare coverages from this year and last year, what volume they had and if they increased or decreased life insurance volume.   If they declined in one coverage one year but elected it the next year or had a dependant on a plan one year and opted not to another year.

**What do you dislike about PlanSource?**

If an employee is a re-hire it at times holds their previous info and at a quick glance looks like they did their enrollment when really it is terminated.  Also when a re-hire errors out of an import and you have to manually update all of their info and re-hire them or they don't upload. I don't like that Life Events sit pending until approved, but I do like in the home screen it shows there is a life even pending.  I have at times run into a report not showing a payroll deduction that should be showing!

**Recommendations to others considering PlanSource:**

Plan Source is a  great source for benefits.  Reviews are always a great source!  No more paper enrollments.  Everything is at your fingertips, so much easier and better!!!!!!!!!
