Is PlanSource free, or does it offer a free trial?

No. According to G2 data, PlanSource does not offer a free plan or free trial. Users need to purchase a paid plan to access the product. Visit the seller's official pricing page for current pricing details and plan options.

Who is PlanSource pricing best suited for?

PlanSource's pricing is best suited for mid-market and enterprise organizations managing complex, multi-carrier benefit programs across distributed or multi-state workforces. G2 reviewers from enterprise segments exceeding 1,000 employees in education, healthcare, financial services, hospitality, and staffing consistently report strong fit. Mid-market reviewers in construction, transportation, insurance, and IT also report meaningful ROI, particularly when payroll integration and carrier EDI feeds are central needs. G2 reviews of PlanSource indicate smaller businesses with fewer than 50 employees can use it effectively for open enrollment consolidation, though the pricing of PlanSource is most justified at scale where manual benefits administration costs are highest.

What are the key differences between the free and paid versions of PlanSource?

PlanSource offers no free tier or publicly listed pricing tiers according to G2's pricing data for PlanSource. PlanSource operates exclusively on custom enterprise quotes. There is no free version, free trial, or entry-level self-serve plan referenced in G2 data. All access is negotiated directly, with pricing tailored to company size, benefit plan complexity, carrier integrations, and service level. G2 reviewers note that PlanSource's pricing bundles benefits administration, COBRA, FSA management, ACA reporting, and carrier EDI feeds into its engagements, with some clients receiving full-service support and others operating with more limited administrator-managed configurations depending on contract scope.

Is PlanSource considered good value for its pricing?

G2 reviewers present a mixed but generally positive value assessment of PlanSource's pricing. One Mid-Market reviewer explicitly notes the system is expensive but affirms you get what you pay for. High-rating enterprise users consistently cite time savings from automated enrollment, carrier EDI feeds, ACA compliance, and eliminated paper processes as strong ROI drivers. A Mid-Market IT reviewer calls the cost low relative to benefits delivered. Detractors at lower ratings flag inconsistent customer service and account manager turnover as value detractors. G2 reviews of PlanSource suggest the pricing of PlanSource delivers strongest value when implementation and support quality are high, but erodes when service responsiveness falters.

What do you like best about PlanSource?

I find PlanSource very easy to use and user-friendly. The billing capability for self-built plans is pretty amazing, as it helps us consolidate bills per location instead of getting separate bills from carriers. The customer service is great, which adds to the overall experience. I also appreciate the dependent verification feature, which ensures that only actual dependents of the employee are getting on the plan. Additionally, the initial setup of PlanSource was very easy. What do you dislike about PlanSource?

I think the communication piece for getting information out to employees could be improved. Right now, we are unable to send attachments, and when someone opens the email they receive, they have to log in. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

I really appreciate PlanSource for the ease of using the portal, which makes our work much simpler. The team was extremely responsive during implementation and they're always there when we need something. They are down to earth, easy to get along with, and have a sense of urgency that we value. The initial setup of PlanSource was very easy, which was a great relief. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about PlanSource?

There was an issue once where employees who submitted a life event in a certain time period were charged the employer premiums instead of employee. This was a glitch outside of their control and was fixed very quickly. We caught it in time to manually override the system. Suggestions would be a peer review of changes before they feed to ADP.
