**What do you like best about OutboundEngine?**

OutboundEngine’s ready-to-use, Canada-focused content is its biggest strength for our accounting firm. Pre-built newsletters and social media posts covering CRA updates, GST/HST adjustments and industry guidance keep our brand visible to clients year-round, even during the hectic tax season when our team has little bandwidth for marketing work. Its native CASL compliance tools are extremely reliable, automatically handling opt-out requests and maintaining consent records to keep all client communications fully compliant with Canadian anti-spam regulations. The built-in engagement dashboard clearly tracks content performance via open and click rates, letting us refine our outreach strategy efficiently without hiring dedicated marketing staff.

**What do you dislike about OutboundEngine?**

The platform offers very limited content customization. Though the standard accounting and tax materials suit general needs, we cannot easily adjust tone, messaging or details to highlight our specialized services and local expertise, resulting in generic outreach that lacks personalization. The reporting functionality also falls short for business evaluation. While basic engagement metrics are available, there is no way to link content interactions to tangible outcomes like client referrals or new business wins. This makes it challenging for us to demonstrate the platform’s full return on investment to company leadership.

This platform streamlines our client marketing and engagement workflows entirely. It automates content creation, distribution and compliance management, cutting down massive amounts of manual work for our team. We no longer need to spend hours drafting newsletters or monitoring anti-spam rules. It keeps our firm consistently present in clients’ minds, drives more client reviews and referrals, and ensures every outbound message adheres to CASL standards. Overall, it lets our accounting team focus fully on core financial and compliance work instead of routine marketing tasks.

OutboundEngine combines content generation and cross-channel scheduling in one unified platform, which fits our day-to-day outreach for renewable energy projects perfectly. Its automated lead nurturing sequences maintain regular contact with prospects, industry partners and stakeholders without hands-on repetitive work. We can clearly track engagement metrics across emails and social channels in one dashboard. The system runs steadily with simple daily operation, letting our team sustain continuous outreach with very little ongoing effort.

**What do you dislike about OutboundEngine?**

Content customization options are quite restricted, so we cannot fully tailor materials to match the unique tone and focus of the renewables sector. Standard reporting templates lack flexibility and fail to meet our bespoke requirements for stakeholder performance analysis. Connections with our internal project management software are superficial, with no smooth real-time data sync. In addition, its lead segmentation functions are not advanced enough to accurately categorize and target our diverse groups of clients and partners.

This platform automates our full marketing workflow, drastically cutting down the hours we spend on manual content production and outbound communication. It prevents irregular posting and delayed lead follow-ups, keeping engagement stable with external contacts. By taking over routine outreach tasks, it lets our core project teams devote more time to delivering renewable energy initiatives and key business priorities.

**What do you like best about OutboundEngine?**

I appreciate how OutboundEngine simplifies scalable, consistent B2B outbound outreach without requiring our team to be email marketing experts. The pre-built, professional email templates are extremely useful for B2B audiences. They're clean, business-appropriate, and easy to customize with our branding, saving us hours on designing campaigns from scratch. This is especially helpful when we need to launch multiple nurture sequences quickly for different industries in the DACH region. The automated drip campaign builder is intuitive and reliable, allowing us to set up multi-touch follow-up sequences in minutes. We can define delays between messages and let the platform run on its own, maintaining steady contact with prospects without manual follow-ups, which was a huge gap for us before. The engagement tracking is straightforward and actionable. We can quickly see who opens, clicks, or revisits content, so we can easily identify warm leads and pass them to sales. The dashboard is simple enough that the entire team can interpret results without extra training.

**What do you dislike about OutboundEngine?**

One area that could be stronger is advanced personalization and segmentation. The platform supports basic merge tags, but it lacks more dynamic rules that let us tailor content based on industry, company size, past engagement, or local regional preferences (German vs. Austrian vs. Swiss audiences) without workarounds. More flexible conditional content would help us feel less “one-size-fits-all” in our outreach. Second, integration with other martech tools is somewhat basic. We use it alongside our CRM and email marketing platforms, but syncing engagement data, lead scores, and campaign performance often requires manual exports or simpler connections instead of smooth, real-time two-way sync. Deeper native integrations would reduce duplicate data entry and help align sales and marketing more tightly.

OutboundEngine fixes our manual email sending challenges, automates drip campaigns, and improves lead tracking. It centralizes list management and ensures compliant messaging. We get organized campaign tracking and streamlined follow-up workflows, ultimately saving us hours weekly and enhancing our B2B outreach in the DACH region.

**What do you like best about OutboundEngine?**

When I first signed up, I had a dedicated account manager who was great! We spoke every month, she asked what was working and what wasn't. She went through my marketing thoroughly, made suggestions and then before we got off the call, she made sure to calendar our next meeting.

**What do you dislike about OutboundEngine?**

Once they revamped their business model and got rid of the dedicated account managers it was impossible to connect with anyone. You can only go through "success@outboundengine.com" and never would I receive any emails or phone calls as requested. I finally got a hold of someone in billing after several months of trying and that person agreed to reduce my monthly charge. I still had no contact of anyone ever reaching out to see how I was liking the product. I wasn't. Then I've been trying to cancel for several months and no one calls or emails back. They are just taking the money and running with it. Do not sign up for this company. They will take your money and do the bare minimum. There are months that my FB was not linked and they didn't care and didn't do anything about it except to continue charging me monthly dues.

**What problems is OutboundEngine solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Did not help. Was not a benefit. At various points, LinkedIn and/or Facebook will disconnect from Outbound. Other than a spam email notifying the user that it's been disconnected, they do nothing to help you or notify you that it's been disconnected, therefore the money you are paying them to promote on those pages is wasted because it's not connected.
This so called service is a huge waste of money.

1- As a real estate business, clients often return to look at properties. Our best clients were annoyed at having to click off the pop-up every visit.
2- When we canceled, we thought it was over.  After months (20) of continued billing, our bookkeeper asked if this was still active. No, it was not. And we should not have been billed.  When calling in to double-check our cancellation, we were told that after you "speak with a Solutions Specialist, who will confirm the cancellation or non-renewal via email."  The account will be closed... We did not get an email and did not know we needed to look for one. They can see the service was discontinued and will not refund the overbilling. It is theft and poor business practice.

It was of little benefit.  Very few engagements were forwarded to us. The annoyance outweighed the benefit.

Everything else. If you want to spend $600 a month to have newsletters sent and nothing else, this product is for you! when i started, I had an account executive that was super helpful and called me every month to make sure I was utilizing the product and understood all the features. apparently sometime ago, they were acquired by ElM Street Technologies and everything about them has sucked ever since. And i mean EVERYTHING! They told noone about the sale, then raised their price $70 per month without notifying their customers, got rid of their client success managers (also without telling the customer) and don't actually offer the product at the price that they advertize online. 

Good luck trying to get ANYONE to call you back for any reason! I have tried emailing, calling, etc. I did finally receive a phone call back 8 days after my request, but it was from an anonymous # so i didn't answer. Called right back and no one answers the phone. Called a different line and the girl said she has no idea why they didn't notify us of the change of ownership, cost increase and service and product decrease. She said i am not eligible for the prices online. those are only available for new clients, but there is no fine print stating that on the website. Since she obvously couldn't help me, i asked for a supervisor. She said there is no one available and someone will call me back whenever they have time. I asked if that would be less than 8 days which is how long the last all took and she, of course, didn't know. 

DO NOT sign up for this company!!! They are beyond horrible and it's rediculously expensive and they make it impossible to cancel! Please don't get burnded like i did. I think they offered a decent product at one point but since aquired by ELM STREET TECHNOLOGY they absolutely suck!

Absolutely nothing - for real worst company/people ever! Don't sign up, it is a scam!

They are really good at selling their product, that's a fact. After you sign up, forget about it, Their system is ridiculous, even the first meeting to explain what and how to use it is PURE BS - they do not answer calls, they do not call you back or reply to emails and, they will not cancel your contract - I mean, you can't - they won't speak with you and you have no access to the subscription/settings part. I NEVER had issues before like this, never been scammed like this! WORST COMPANY EVER!!!!

None! zero! They have actually created a problem, making me try to reach out to them and get a subscription cancelation - they are just eating my money.

Nothing. This company was subpar in every way. Your posts will match everyone else who uses the service for your profession. Honestly you could pay a high school student to exceed their performance for the same price.

Customer service is outsourced to overseas, which is fine... however, any help I needed had to be transferred to someone in the states and they took days to call back. 

Shady business practices and will be reporting them to BBB. Stay away, honestly, there are much better products out there, with better customer service, and if not... they at least don't make it impossible to cancel.

The products are low quality and and the funnel is confusing for customers.

Absolutely abysmal customer service, and even worse cancelation policy. Very scammy feeling. Absolutely do not recommend.

They are an email and social media company. Their service is supposed to help with outbound marketing and staying in front of your clients. It doesn't, and they won't let you cancel.

Turns out you can either use all of their content and add your content to it or you have to create all new content and format it in a program that isn't user friendly

It didn't solve any problems.  It created more since I was worried that their generic content was going to be pushed out via my social media accounts.  They have a tough cancellation policy which should have clued me in that they know people will want to get out before as soon as they start using it

I love the idea and the promises that the sales team made to me. Increase email open by 2x, increase click-through by 50%.  We actually saw a decline in both metrics.

**What do you dislike about OutboundEngine?**

False advertising. Terrible content that wasn't applicable to my market, region, or hemisphere. All the lousy click bate. It actually became an embarrassment for me and my brand. They also don't tell you that they will filter out large swaths of your email contacts. If you have anyone with a Yahoo! email account, they are out. They have this logic to reduce bounce and spam, which was interesting because all my work email does now since using them is go into everyone's spam folder. So lame. So they failed on all accounts and all promises, you would think they would let you cancel, NOPE! you have to keep paying. So I asked them to at least stop sending emails out on my behalf, they agreed, and kept sending the terrible emails.

The promise is that they would take the wheel at touching my sphere of influence and cultivate interest and monitor activity so people would bubble up to the top and you could focus on them. Their software platform did do that so it was pretty cool the way it worked. The content they used was just terrible so it didn't matter. Trying to get your own original content into the newsletter was less than easy or optimized.

This company is the opposite of innovative. They are basic, cookie cutter, and will lie to you to get your business.

They lied about their services. On several initial sales calls, I explicitly told them I was not looking for a company that was going to have the same posts across the industry. For the first post, I signed into LinkedIn and saw 8 other Realtors had shared the same bs article. They assured me that my content would be original. It was not. When I reached out to customer service they simply set me up on a sales call to try and get me to utilize other aspects of their services. The newsletter. I was told on the front end that it would be highly customizable. It is not. customer service was always rude, and manipulative. They would not do anything to work with me. Just would ignore me for weeks then get some low-level hourly employee to call me with some scripted response to my questions where they would interrupt me all while just repeating the same lines over and over. STAY AWAY FROM THIS COMPANY!

I would avoid this company at all costs unless you enjoy giving away your money.

The only value add is there content creation, which is supposedly in-house

They sold their product as an A2P SMS service but didn't provide it. Because it was sold as a completely different product, they canceled high up, Mitchell Reeder, canceled my service. He then informed me I couldn't receive a refund, because they didn't charge me the six-month cancellation fee although I had never even set up the service or had completed the on boarding call. He was also very condescending on the phone to me and my team which we didn't appreciate.

Willing to work with my schedule and didn't truly PRESSURE me to get the product but were forthcoming that they were looking for my business. 
Amber Harding was my sales agent and she was willing to call me back a full WEEK after our first phone call which means a lot to me in my line of work.

**What do you dislike about OutboundEngine?**

A little robotic in the sales pitch. I would have preferred a more open dialogue designed to get down to the heart of what I wanted to accomplish. Instead I had to look beyond the pitch for that value but in the end we found it.

Consistency in Social Media and a way to expand my footprint.

The actual reps trying to help you set up your account are very helpful.  For folks wanting to really work their sphere and database for referrals, etc., this product has potential.  But watch out for the corporate trickery.

Despite giving written notice in Nov 2021 that I did not wish to renew in Summer 2022 they came up with a lame excuse on how I had to reach out again closer to the end of my contract.  And, of course they couldn't mark my account for non-renewal BUT they can certainly click a button for autopay each month.  Be wary and hope that if you try this product that you never need to cancel it because they will screw you for their own benefit.  I

I never got into Outbound Engine much because my business approach changed shortly after signing up to focus on growing the brokerage rather than my sphere or team contacts.  I communicated that with an account rep very early on but it seems their management won't recognize those taped phone calls or written emails because it wasn't close enough to my contract expiration date.

Every three days social medial posts go out and every ten days a newsletter goes out. The content is very good. I also the folks follow up very well.

Paying for it. It is a good program and worth the money.

No sure if I have any problems.  But what they do is keep me on my social media and they get an email newsletter out so I don't 't need to worry about spending time on it.

There was nothing helpful about the product or team. They have the worst customer service in the industry. During my onboarding call, it was suggested that I can create my own content. I thought at that point, what am I really paying for here?!

**What do you dislike about OutboundEngine?**

I wish I would have read some of these negative reviews before signing up with this company. I went through my sales call with one of the account executives, and it was explained that Outbound Engine would have content for my business partners. The main reason I decided to proceed with Outbound Engine was so that I could engage my business partners. Unfortunately, that was not the case. I was also told that Outbound Engine would register my business on 72 different directories, during my onboarding call, it was explained that I would have to complete the directory information on my own for directories that I had already signed up for. Why would the salesperson say that they would register me on these directories, and make sure that my existing information was correct on existing directories if that was not the case.  It seemed too good to be true because it was. I tried to reach out to their customer success team and was promised a call on Monday, 5/16/22, no one reached out. I called back on Thursday to follow up, and received a return call, the representative said that I signed a contract and tried to retain my business for a lower price. I wanted to cancel my services with Outbound Engine. I never used their platform and never got through my onboarding call because of all the discrepancies. Shame on them for handling the situation the way that they did. Where's the customer service that you provided me during your sales call? This company is a scam, and I would not recommend their services to anyone.

Have a clear understanding of what's included with the Outbound Engine technology.

Outbound Engine could not help me with my business because they do not offer any marketing to my business partners as explained during my sales call. I would also like to point out that they do not set you up on the directories that you have credentials for.

Good quality and relevant content to your industry. They will also provide custom emails.

The inability to post a custom flyer to social media.

Would like a bit more program-specific email blasts for the commercial financing industry. 

When there are multiple users from the same company the content is the same. It would be nice to spread these articles out or rotate them so we're not sending out the same content in the same week.

The look of the emails. So far they are not helpful at all.

Everything else. I am in the middle of a customer service nightmare with them. It feels like it's a game to them, and unfortunately, it's infuriating to me. The sales team lied to me about what they provide and what I would still do to be able to produce my emails and content. They are refusing to correct the technical issues I have experienced using their platform, and the most infuriating part is they refuse to talk to me about it. You are not provided with a direct line to your account manager, and your account manager will flat out refuse to talk to you, as will their supervisors. Forget about trying to downgrade your account, the people who handle that are too busy to talk to you as well. They tell you you need to schedule a time to talk to your account manager, soonest theyre available, 2 WEEKS FROM NOW!!! Want to downgrade so your not wasting so much money on them, you have to schedule for that, when is that person available, they don't have an answer for that, but they will be in touch with you.

We signed up with Outbound Engine with high hopes they would help us grow and post content for us. Thinking they would be able to do what they say they could, we signed a 1-year deal. After using them now for 4 months, we are very unhappy with the product they offer! The content they post is not relevant, and we have not gotten one lead from the service. We are stuck using them even though the service is terrible because we signed a 1-year contract. I would recommend going with another company.

I was looking for a program initially that would help me manage my clients, as I had a difficult time keeping my current and past clients' contacts organized. I wanted to be able to reach out to past clients regarding recurring shoots and potential jobs, and I wanted some way to let them know what I was up to so I was top of mind whenever they needed to book a job. OutboundEngine streamlines this outreach process, and their content is professional and thorough without looking too sales-y. It has addressed the disorganization issue while bringing in new leads and initiating recurring jobs with past clients.

OutboundEngine is an expensive service, which was hard to justify at first since I am just getting my business off the ground.

I am solving the aforementioned issue of disorganization with client contacts. I want to be able to reach out to previous clients regarding job needs, and wanted a way to stay top of mind that was enjoyable for them without seeming like a sales pitch. The campaign marketing was great, the topics were on the money, and they sent out a campaign every couple of weeks. They were very supportive during this pandemic and very helpful in getting my payments pushed when I needed it.

Your locked into a contract. At the time I became a client I didn't realize I would be locked into a contract for a year. Being a new business owner that was a struggle sometime to make the payments.

The company is very diligent in making sure you succeed as a business. The campaigns are great, the topics and branding is on point. Customer service is spectacular and they follow up with you on a monthly call.  I would recommend them to anyone, however if your not in a financial position to be locked in a contract this may not be for you.

They say I am stuck paying $299 a month for another 6 months for a cheesy newsletter that no one read.  $299 for a newsletter...ridiculous...Totally not willing to work out a deal to have customer be satisfied.  DO NOT WASTE YOUR MONEY.  I can recommend actual products that work.  Be in touch.

Informational, educational, and relevant content is created customized for our clients. They find it easy to read and we've gotten a lot of positive feedback. It saves the marketers a lot of time regarding content creation, and the content is interesting so it sparks more communication between our clients and their account managers. Very grateful to OutboundEngine, it has been a life saver and has helped us satisfy our clients without putting more work on our marketing team.

The cost is high when you look at it at face value. However, when you compare it to the cost of hiring a content writer or hiring more marketing staff, it is much less significant.

OutboundEngine's customer service is outstanding. I feel like every time I've run into a specific issue, my concerns have been addressed in a timely manner. It was easy to get ahold of my account manager, and all communication I've had with OutboundEngine has been super professional. I really appreciate what this company has done for me and my business.

Additionally, the content that they put out is top tier. It's engaging, informative, and I've never had any issues with errors or timing. They send out content in a timely manner and clients are eager to receive it, it's not spammy or generalized.

It would be a great thing to have a weekly call to make sure the consumer understands how each platform works and how to utilize all the tools you have to offer.

Outbound Engine has relieved me of some marketing and campaigning stress. We're able to ease the amount of workload that the marketing team has, and we can trust OutboundEngine to create quality content and do consistent work. We are solving the issue of the marketing staff being overworked. When we're consistently working on client campaigns, there isn't a lot of time left over to work on our own social media, content creation, and article publication. We want to be more involved with our clients, and OutboundEngine helped us do just that. We barely had to think about social media and content, and it would be sent to clients automatically. Consistent communication is key and OutboundEngine filled a few critical gaps in our company.

Because of this, the software was so easy to set up and use, and I and my customers seem happy with it so far.

The salesperson and client management person.  But save yourself a nightmare because the dream they sell is not reality, and if you try to cancel they will run your card again before you have a chance to even call your credit card company- that is called fraud.

Everything else.  Poor content, and worse yet, when I tried to cancel they ran my card for the second time that week despite me being on a monthly billing cycle, just to hedge their bet in case I cancelled my card.  The person who called me during this time was incredibly rude over the phone, and tried to shove how good the service was down my throat.   The content was horribly written and began contacting clients before I had a chance to even get to know the system.

The best thing is the automated, and hands-off email campaigns.  I also like the referral campaigns (the visa card ones).  The app is easy to use as well.  Great for LOs that don't have a CRM or database.

1. Having to manually upload contacts so they get on the email blasts. 2. The social media add-on is an absolute rip off.  Do not do it as they have no idea how to make a successful campaign.  Waste of money.  3. You have no direct line to your account manager.  4. No integration with HubSpot or Salesforce to auto-add contacts (I was lied to when I signed up).  5. the posts to social media are not engaging or relevant.  and the biggest issue is resolution to my suggestions and complaints (and their promises not kept) with no action to resolve.

This software saves a lot of time; even though it's pricey, it would cost a lot more to staff a marketing team. It's user-friendly and has been seamless so far.

I'd like if it were more customizable rather than block packages.

Our company has been solving the issue of time vs. money and hiring more people vs. having the current employees take on more marketing tasks. I would highly recommend Outbound Engine to anyone who is looking to have a marketing platform that you don't have to worry about.  I get emails prior to emails being sent out so that I can proof them & to me it is better than constant contacts!  I also get notifications when I have a FB post being ready to be sent along with Linked in.  I could not be any happier with this company!  They have streamlined all of my marketing stuff for me and are always there if I need to ask any questions or have something added or changed on any of the platforms for marketing!  Hats off to them for taking my marketing stress off of me!!!

I am not a social media savvy person and I love the fact that I don''t have to worry about posting for business just posting some personal things. I'm not the best at remembering to send stay in touch with past clients. I get distracted! Outbound Engine takes that task of my 'to-do" list by sending out timely and informative emails and social media posts. They also alert me when past buyers and sellers read my emails and social media posts so that I can contact them and start a conversation. It helps me stay top-of-mind with my client base without me spending hours writing and refining content. My only gripe (and this is so minor!) is that when I have a conference call scheduled, if I'm on the phone and can't answer their call, I'm done for that month! There are no second chances! LOL! It was totally my fault and I'm certainly not the only call they have to make so I've learned to respect their time and make sure I'm available when they call. The calls are scheduled over a month in advance so it really isn't a problem. I just have to make sure I'm ready. Their communication really is excellent though. I've used other platforms where I signed up and didn't hear from them again after the initial installation. OE really keeps my in the loop. I've been very pleased with their product!~

As I said above, I wish I had a little bit of wiggle room on the conference calls. If I have one scheduled at 8:30 am and I can't get off the phone until 8:33, I wish they'd call me back maybe once to see if I'm off the phone. There are some phone calls that I have to take in order to provide quality service to my clients and I hate to ignore calls because they might run into my OE time. It's a minor gripe but one I've run into.

It definitely saves me time with social media marketing. I don't have to worry about it anymore.

It's incredibly easy to remain in contact with my customer base. They get a bi-monthly email with relevant articles and I can place two articles of my own. Not only that but the times I've needed help there was someone readily available to walk me through the process.

I would like a share button which would allow my customers to send an article to a friend. Similar to what Zillow has where you can forward a link and the person receiving it shows that their friend sent them something. This would help me spread my name and hopefully expand my email pool and create more opportunities for sales.

The problem was just staying relevant with my customer base. I call them for birthdays and policy reviews but this allows me to stay connected the entire year. Since I'm on their mind they can now more easily refer me as well.

Nothing!  I love everything about Outbound Engine!

I love the product just hate to refer it to my competitors

Contact management, overall communication and actual closed sales

**What do you like best about OutboundEngine?**

Nothing Special about it. The sales people are good. They make you think that you are getting something worth your while, but it’s not.

**What do you dislike about OutboundEngine?**

Outbound Engine is nothing special for the price. Literally anyone can do what they do. They will send out emails and post on your Facebook 2 times a month. I was not happy with the service, but they said that I was committed for a year. They could not show a contract where I signed up for a year and I was not told that I was locked in for a year. I think it’s weird that they would make someone pay for something that they were not happy with. If your product was good, you would Not have to force and trick people into paying. 
The customer service is terrible. I have called and emailed and have not got a response back from someone that can Help. They said the first available person would call and that was 3 days ago. Save your money! Not a good investment.
