## Epic Reviews
  ### 1. The standard for EMR these days, though overly complicated for smaller organizations.

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Hospital & Health Care | Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** August 19, 2021

**What do you like best about Epic?**

The fact that I can see every piece of medical data I need, from orders, encounters, reports and even images is a huge benefit in my position as an analyst. It's become a one-stop-shop for me in regards to reviewing medical records, and the auditing and reporting tools are incredibly powerful.

**What do you dislike about Epic?**

Complexity...so much complexity. For all of its power, EPIC is one of the most complex EMR systems, both in setup and operation. Because EPIC builds are specialized for each organization, my training in Wisconsin felt almost like wasted time because our production version was so incredibly different from what they showed us. Changing hospital systems was a challenge, as my new hospital's EPIC instance is very different from my previous one.

There is also a level of compartmentalization that can be overwhelming. Having something changed in our build requires submitting it, having it get vetted by local engineers who often need assistance from EPIC. The result is something as simple as a worklist or procedure code change can (not always to be fair) take weeks or even months at a time. It's not terrible, but it can be frustrating if you are coming from an environment where users and admins have more control over their EMR.

**Recommendations to others considering Epic:**

Be certain EPIC is what you need. That's not to say at all that EPIC is a bad product; it's just that smaller organizations will not benefit from a system as grand as EPIC is. For the cost involved with running it, only larger hospital systems should consider it.

**What problems is Epic solving and how is that benefiting you?**

It's become the central EMR system for the company, and it allows me to access almost every aspect of data I need as an analyst. It also integrates with other hospital systems making data transfer so much easier which directly benefits our patients.

  ### 2. Very patient and physician friendly

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Sapir T. | T, Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** December 30, 2021

**What do you like best about Epic?**

Very user friendly. Makes the whole experience much easier. Can save .phrases and make everything a breeze when it comes to patient care. Competitions can't compete

**What do you dislike about Epic?**

I dislike that notifications sometimes are hidden and it's hard to find certain messages when wanting to respond to colleagues or patients. Maybe making a mailbox that is accessible.

**What problems is Epic solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Patient care is much more efficient and streamlined. I am an employee but my hospital benefits. Yes I am more productive yes the business performance has increased

  ### 3. Easy to use!

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Medical Practice | Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** December 10, 2021

**What do you like best about Epic?**

I love smart phrases. These make charting so easy and my time is not wasted re-typing the same content!

**What do you dislike about Epic?**

There are so many features to learn to use that sometimes during updates if difficult to make time to teach myself the right tools to continue being efficient with a busy caseload!

**What problems is Epic solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I am working on a way to better track timing of treatment plan signatures & discharges. I love the "wrench" concept that allows me to change my screen to use the most relevant tools.

  ### 4. Epic Review

**Rating:** 3.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Hospital & Health Care | Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** November 30, 2021

**What do you like best about Epic?**

the Avatar feauture you can use to chart wounds and lines on your patient

**What do you dislike about Epic?**

Makes you log in like 50 times just to get to the hyperspace. Difficult to find a patient once they have been discharged in the system. Cannot chart an hr into the future. Sometimes you will scan patient and meds and then it will show up like they werent scanned. 50 steps just to re time your meds.

**What problems is Epic solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Charting. Like the copy & paste feature to copy into another column

  ### 5. Very convenient

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Hospital & Health Care | Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** April 08, 2018

**What do you like best about Epic?**

Epic is very fast, reliable, and always easy to use. Everything is straight forward. The in basket makes tasks easier to see for everyone in your pool. I like the intake portion best.

**What do you dislike about Epic?**

Sometimes epic will randomly go down for a few hours. Also, some tasks can be found in multiple areas and it could be confusing on where to find things. Messages to providers can be difficult to send and see when they reply

**What problems is Epic solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I would say the benefits are the details used in epic. I learned to document as much as possible everywhere in the chart to make it accessible for providers and staff. I think our communication has improved office wide

  ### 6. Epic, easy to use. Quick to learn.

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Higher Education | Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** November 23, 2021

**What do you like best about Epic?**

It's user friendly. Simple to use. I'm a beginner in a new role and it has been easy to catch on to. I use the reporting and billing functions a lot. As well as chart review.

**What do you dislike about Epic?**

So far, nothing. I do get times out quite often.

**What problems is Epic solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I use epic for research billing and charges. To ensure things are properly charged to the correct clinical trial. That duplicate labs weren't ordered.

  ### 7. Decent but clunky at times

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Kierra M. | C, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** May 05, 2021

**What do you like best about Epic?**

I like that it saves clicks, you don't necessarily need to hit "save" anywhere, sometimes you need to hit accept but only on certain categories. I think it is fairly user friendly as well.

**What do you dislike about Epic?**

Some things are a bit clunky, there are extra steps that aren't always necessary. Sometimes it makes changes you weren't aware of.

**What problems is Epic solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Being able to know different things about patients who go to a lot of different facilities is very useful and solves the problem of digging for information.

  ### 8. Great EMR

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Mohamad C. | D, Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** October 26, 2021

**What do you like best about Epic?**

Order sets, templates, smartphrases and order panels

**What do you dislike about Epic?**

Best practices alerts are an over do; an alert will pop up for illogical reasons

**Recommendations to others considering Epic:**

Do the training before starting using it

**What problems is Epic solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Patient care is a lot easier, rounding and checking patients' records

  ### 9. Epic is User Friendly

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Hospital & Health Care | Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** November 30, 2021

**What do you like best about Epic?**

What I like best about Epic is that it is user-friendly because Epic is role-specific. When a nurse logs into Epic she will see her workflow exclusively, which makes documentation simpler and workflow specific.

**What do you dislike about Epic?**

One of the downsides of Epic is that if an end-user uses EPIC at various facilities, their personalized notes, orders, etc. can't be integrated and or shared. It's time consuming for end-users to have to set up personalization for each facility where they work manually.

**What problems is Epic solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Epic is great because it paints the true picture of a patient's health record. Thiscan be lifesaving information.

  ### 10. Nurse using Epic

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Hospital & Health Care | Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** January 12, 2022

**What do you like best about Epic?**

Epic is pretty user friendly. I like that you can wrench in flow sheets and frequently used columns and make it completely customizable to your needs.

**What do you dislike about Epic?**

It can initially be a little intimidating because there are SO many things to click on, but after you get the hang of it it's pretty easy to use.

**What problems is Epic solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I don't really solve problems with epic, I'm a nurse so we use epic for our patient charts

  ### 11. Epic Review

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Erica D.

**Reviewed Date:** March 04, 2021

  ### 12. The best option for electronic health record software!

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Hospital & Health Care | Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** May 20, 2021

**What do you like best about Epic?**

This electronic medical record program is extremely customizable. The best thing is that Epic is linked across multiple health care systems, regardless of geography. When a patient from out-of-town has no details about their medical history, recent surgery, medications and allergies, Epic has you covered. Also, the mobile app is great for checking results on the go or when you are out of the hospital/office.

**What do you dislike about Epic?**

There is a pretty steep learning curve with Epic and mastery requires working with Epic for a while before you learn all of the in's and out's. There are a lot of error messages and sometimes irrelevant alerts fire randomly.

**What problems is Epic solving and how is that benefiting you?**

As mentioned previously, the app is wonderful and Epic is widely used by hospitals and outpatient practices alike. We truly need a comprehensive electronic medical record that is available wherever a patient goes and Epic is an excellent resource for this.

  ### 13. Epic is user friendly and very intuitive, saves time and is efficient.

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Matt P. | Psychotherapist- Clara's House, Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** October 29, 2020

**What do you like best about Epic?**

I like how it inserts information from areas that have already been completed which saves a lot of time.

**What do you dislike about Epic?**

I don't like that there aren't as many drop down options in certain areas of the programs. This would help save time, especially within the medical world where there is a lot of documentation that is required.

**Recommendations to others considering Epic:**

I would make support staff more readily available to troubleshoot problems.

**What problems is Epic solving and how is that benefiting you?**

The problems I am solving are how to make a product even more efficient within the mental health and medical fields. The benefits realized are that this program is really intuitive and saves quite a bit of time.

  ### 14. Epic EHR

**Rating:** 3.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Hospital & Health Care | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** November 18, 2021

**What do you like best about Epic?**

I like that I can access several areas of a patient record all in one screen

**What do you dislike about Epic?**

There are alot of tabs in Epic. It is sometimes cumbersome to find the record I am looking for.

**What problems is Epic solving and how is that benefiting you?**

We can get records on mutual patients promptly. We don't have to call or wait on faxes. Saves alot of time

  ### 15. Takes a bit to get use too

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Debi Berkowitz B. | Special Education Paraprofessional, Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** November 02, 2021

**What do you like best about Epic?**

It has a lot of features and once you learn it is simple to use.

**What do you dislike about Epic?**

It takes a while to get use to it. You can't always do what you want to do quickly and need to look around to find some features.

**What problems is Epic solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I've used it in the laboratory services field and our entire health care company has converted over to it.

  ### 16. Excellent EHR Platform

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Medical Practice | Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** December 08, 2021

**What do you like best about Epic?**

Accessing patient charts is super easy with this software. It is accessible in many hospital / care centers to carry over EHR information from one facility to another.

**What do you dislike about Epic?**

Not compatible with other EMR systems such as Nextech.

**What problems is Epic solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Continuation of care is completed fluently and successfully. I am in the medical department and do not have knowledge if there is financial gain but from a user standpoint I feel it benefits the clinical staff.

  ### 17. Epic review

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Hospital & Health Care | Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** December 09, 2021

**What do you like best about Epic?**

It makes charting convenient for all members of the healthcare team to have access to things and collaborate their care. I like it better than cerner which we previously used.

**What do you dislike about Epic?**

Some of the features are frustrating, the avatar causes issues for me when I am trying to chart or remove LdAs. An upgrade to make that feature more seamless would be appreciated.

**What problems is Epic solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Ability to see charting across multiple care areas.

  ### 18. The most customizable EHR

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Hospital & Health Care | Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** December 12, 2021

**What do you like best about Epic?**

The versatility and adaptability of the platform to be customized to each hostipal/heathcare system needs

**What do you dislike about Epic?**

The slow process it takes to build order sets and apply the functionality

**Recommendations to others considering Epic:**

Must have a team of programmers to learn how to write code to update epic and make it functional for your hospital system.

**What problems is Epic solving and how is that benefiting you?**

One-stop shop for each patient's complete electronic health record that greatly decreases error

  ### 19. Best EMR

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Hospital & Health Care | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** October 19, 2021

**What do you like best about Epic?**

I love the user interface and usability with EPIC. Everything you need is on one page with Epic, and anything that you need to find can easily be searched for using the search feature.

**What do you dislike about Epic?**

To be honest, not much. There are frustrating things like "Epic downtime", but I also recognize that every software is going to need updates.

**Recommendations to others considering Epic:**

Spend time practicing and getting familiar with everything that Epic can do. It is the most functional when you explore the different features.

**What problems is Epic solving and how is that benefiting you?**

We currently do not have many problems with Epic.

  ### 20. We were already rolling this out this process through every one of our locations.

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Jamie W. | Vice President, Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** March 19, 2021

**What do you like best about Epic?**

It's so easy to use that I'm completely in love with it! There's no doubt that it looks like such a paper directory; and I especially like all the side tabs. I have a perfect track record of pathology findings in my files; if I'm ever in a situation where I need to search for a biopsy results, it is also very convenient for me to find. I like that the fact that Epic is Mac and PC compatible. As it's been the trend for most people to work towards home, it's easier to interact with Epic nowadays.

**What do you dislike about Epic?**

I don't like the fact which I can only view four medical records at a moment. It will probably be at least five, but I think six or seven. After you open the first four patient pages, the system says you must close the pages first before opening the graph. Also, in the Epic forum, opening and closing pages is extremely slow. It looks like it's creeping.

**What problems is Epic solving and how is that benefiting you?**

The type of issues I'm dealing with while using Epic is that it's too simple to be using. Often, computer-specific applications don't carry through well to use from home, but the fact that it's so easy to use makes up for it! It is indeed a big advantage.

  ### 21. Epic is the best system I’ve ever used

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Pharmaceuticals | Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** December 29, 2021

**What do you like best about Epic?**

The ease of use, detailed information, and different applications all within epic

**What do you dislike about Epic?**

There is not anything I dislike about epic

**What problems is Epic solving and how is that benefiting you?**

We recently acquired a business that was on a very old, not easy to audit system. Getting them on epic is going to be our first goal.

  ### 22. The biggest health record program

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Sarah H. | Senior Meetings Consultant, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** March 17, 2021

**What do you like best about Epic?**

Surely Epic allows you to set up your radar altimeter, history, and screenshot. Between one course, the users can display all health, cognitive and financial information. You would have the experience of someone working in it, be it a doctor, therapist and other support providers. It could motivate a patient to manage treatment. For your accounting firm, you are entitled to set models perfectly. It takes less effort to change the instruction more frequently.

**What do you dislike about Epic?**

I don't like that, I can only access 4 health information at one time, I would like instructors to encourage me to open even more on the computer. I would say at least 5, but maybe 6 would be a good number. This is frustrating when you ask us to delete them when introducing a small tab after they select 4 patient files. It takes also time to build / remove posts and within Epic framework, I'd like to see this done more quickly.

**Recommendations to others considering Epic:**

Quite comprehensive for checking patient records. Any initial registration and air traffic control training is useful. It is also helpful to adjust the gui. I really like fact they see various tabs/areas data. And the labs are shown, and you can then pick labs. However, this can also be done through the study of the findings which provides a closer look at the finished studies, dates and effects.

**What problems is Epic solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Epic conducts rapid monitoring of medication order with encouraging alerts and all specifics (often also) are continuously shown. Epic also allows me to track to answer calls to the fellow patients waiting for them. We would have a new messenger feature recently that improves compatibility with many other vendors

  ### 23. Epic Charting

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Hospital & Health Care | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** December 11, 2021

**What do you like best about Epic?**

It's well organized and easily customizable to your preferences.

**What do you dislike about Epic?**

Things you cannot shut off/disable (orders in the brain) that you have to just skip. Can be hard to find certain things sometimes.

**What problems is Epic solving and how is that benefiting you?**

User friendly charting, makes it easy to get through tedious charting quicker.

  ### 24. Great EHR

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Hospital & Health Care | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** December 14, 2021

**What do you like best about Epic?**

Very customizable, it can be specifically tailored to each customers needs

**What do you dislike about Epic?**

The training we received was not updated to the version we use

**Recommendations to others considering Epic:**

Try to obtain in depth training

**What problems is Epic solving and how is that benefiting you?**

We now use one EHR compared to several separate solutions.

  ### 25. Great EHR system

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Medical Practice | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** August 10, 2021

**What do you like best about Epic?**

I like best how easy the software program is to use. Also, the ability to create your own templates to make for faster charting by medical providers.

**What do you dislike about Epic?**

I dislike the training program required prior to first use in the office. It would be more beneficial to have a trainer in the office during real time to hell better acclimate myself to the system.

**Recommendations to others considering Epic:**

I recommend spending some time working with the system to create your own templates for easier use.

**What problems is Epic solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I'm solving the time it takes to hand write notes in clinic so now I'm able to see more patients.

  ### 26. Easy to use

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Hospital & Health Care | Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** August 24, 2021

**What do you like best about Epic?**

Easy to navigate within epic when needing to verify a patient location or verify a order for the pharmacy

**What do you dislike about Epic?**

It's format is changed constantly which means you have to adapt to the updates

**What problems is Epic solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I use epic to bill patients when they are released from their surgery until the cvor in the hospital.

  ### 27. The largest system of health records

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Yaswini M. | Senior Software Engineer, Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** January 19, 2021

**What do you like best about Epic?**

I like how user-friendly Epic is! It looks like a paper directory and on the page I like most of the header possibilities. It is very convenient to do this if I have to seek a biopsy results. I like Epic too... it's friendly to MAC or PC. Since the majority of people initiated working in an office, I realized which Epic is really sociable from household.

**What do you dislike about Epic?**

I don't even like something which, because there's a more room to be opened on the page, I could only activate four patient charts at once. At least 5, I'd say, but 6 would probably be a good lot. This is frustrating because you'll have to shut down 4 patient pages before introducing a small chart when opening. Also, it takes awhile to access chapters on the Epic channel, and I wish this could go a bit quicker.

**Recommendations to others considering Epic:**

I'd suggest Epic for EMR rather than Powerchart, but stay in touch that only four patient charts may be opened at a moment. And it works brilliantly apart from this!

**What problems is Epic solving and how is that benefiting you?**

The problems with Epic which I solve are so convenient from parent's house to use. Sometimes applications that you mostly use on a working PC don't exchange very well parent's house, and yet Epic has become so user friendly! It's a big advantage.

  ### 28. Only familiar with Epic Hyperspace in a Healthcare setting

**Rating:** 3.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Hospital & Health Care | Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** October 15, 2021

**What do you like best about Epic?**

Pretty standard as a patient charting tool.

**What do you dislike about Epic?**

It can be glitchy and not so userfriendly

**Recommendations to others considering Epic:**

I don't know what Epics direct competitor would look like but it has dominated the healthcare space for awhile.

**What problems is Epic solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Mostly patient charting, creating insurance files (MVA claims were the worst), and ICD codes for visits.

  ### 29. In the health insurance industry Epic is an important addition

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Deepthi A. | Assistant Engineer, Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** January 05, 2021

**What do you like best about Epic?**

Epic definitely helps you to set your digital map, history and screenshot. All medical, psychological and economic information can be accessed between a single curriculum. You would have the inferences of anyone in it, be it a clinician, therapist or other provider. It could motivate a patient to coordinate care. You do have power to establish templates for your accounting company preferably. It requires less time to change the instructions more time.

**What do you dislike about Epic?**

I really don't like that, I could only have access to four health information at quite a percentage, I would like teachers to open ever more capabilities mostly on camera. I would say, at least 5, but perhaps 6 would be a considerable bit. That's also annoying, because you ask that 4 patient sheets be removed before opening a further tab after you have opened. It takes time to create/close pages and within Epic platform, too, that I want this to go much more quickly.

**Recommendations to others considering Epic:**

Very comprehensive for checking patient information. Some initial enrollment and control training is useful. It is often helpful that the interface can be changed. I like with the time you look at various results in various apps / sectors. Then you'll see the labs, and then you can choose the labs. This could also be achieved with the results of the analysis, however, which provides a better overview of the experimentation, dates and results done.

**What problems is Epic solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Epic conducts fast pharmaceutical order control with supportive advertisements and simultaneously shows every detail you need (almost always). Epic also allows me to monitor patient problems and leave my colleagues with messages. We previously had a further messenger feature that helps increase interoperability with other services.

  ### 30. Complex and helpful documentation software

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Mental Health Care | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** April 26, 2021

**What do you like best about Epic?**

Epic has so many options and is a very advanced system. They now offer a video conferencing service directly through their software which is very convenient. It is very easy to view patient charts from all providers across the hospital system.

**What do you dislike about Epic?**

It is difficult sometimes to remember the features and how to use them. It takes some training and time to get used to.

**What problems is Epic solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Video conferencing is one of the problems that has recently been solved with Epic as it now connects the patient's chart on their end, with their chart on the provider's end, to the video software. It's great to have everything in one place. Adjusting to telehealth changes during the pandemic has been difficult so this is very helpful.

  ### 31. Best EMR available

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Hospital & Health Care | Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** August 03, 2021

**What do you like best about Epic?**

The EMR is extremely easy to use and the most intuitive. The RCM capabilities are second to no and will automatically create needed accruals. The system also has easy-to-digest automated executive dashboards.

**What do you dislike about Epic?**

The product is the highest cost on the market by a significant margin and doesn't have many customization options, but that is part of its success.

**What problems is Epic solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Full shop patient management from EMR to backend reporting

  ### 32. PT

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Health, Wellness and Fitness | Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** January 07, 2018

**What do you like best about Epic?**

Copy forward for notes, precharting for future notes saves a lot of time throughout the week

**What do you dislike about Epic?**

Too many steps to complete a single note.

**What problems is Epic solving and how is that benefiting you?**

None

  ### 33. Good Program with Many Functions

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Margit G. | Registered Nurse, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** November 18, 2020

**What do you like best about Epic?**

What I find to be the most useful feature in EPIC is the ability to see all notes from many different facilities in one place. It makes doing chart reviews much more seamless and it enables us to provide better care for our patients since we're being given the most information possible.

**What do you dislike about Epic?**

So many clicks. It seems like every task you want to complete in EPIC takes at least 5 clicks. I understand the importance of the function of each click but it does seem like there could be a way to streamline it to be a bit quicker and less cumbersome.

**What problems is Epic solving and how is that benefiting you?**

It allows us to provide care while keeping continuity of care in mind. We can be much more thorough and refer to specialist notes or notes from people who are not in our office to gain more information about our patient. We can also use it to consult with outside specialists quickly, easily, and directly - something we were not able to do so easily without EPIC.

  ### 34. Easy search but still clunky for live patient care.

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Amir M. | General Internal Medicine Fellow, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** November 06, 2020

**What do you like best about Epic?**

The omni search capability to search for any medication, lab, imaging test, or consultation/referral service is the best part of Epic. This makes it easy to just order what you want without having to remember where a specific order is to be found. The new Storyboard feature on the side has an immense amount of information that is readily accessible, which is helpful. CareEverywhere functionality allows me to see a patient's medical records from outside my health system's network, as long as Epic is used. Also being able to search for anything related to the patient is very helpful. I can search for "colonoscopy" and it will bring up notes, encounters, medications, etc related to that keyword search and I can easily document the result into my notes.

**What do you dislike about Epic?**

It is still somewhat clunky to use while caring for a patient in the clinic setting. The updated interface is nice but it still seems inefficient and does not reflect how patient care actually is delivered. Billing is still not easy but better than in previous iterations. The tabs are customizable but sometimes it's too customizable and I want more simplicity (think if Apple designed an EHR). Also sometimes it seems slow to load and it slows me down during patient care.

**What problems is Epic solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Centralized electronic medical record-keeping so I can easily search for and see all the patient's notes and results from any provider/encounter. It has been helpful to be able to search easily for anything related to medical care for a patient.

  ### 35. Epic

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Ryan K. | HIV Pharmacist, Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** April 23, 2021

**What do you like best about Epic?**

Prescription order entry & charting documentation

**What do you dislike about Epic?**

Inter-personnel messaging is challenging. Doesn't create & save single threads the same way current email platforms do. Bunch of individual messages to read rather than clicking once on a single thread

**Recommendations to others considering Epic:**

Wonderful, universal tool for emr management. Able to share chart between different Healthcare systems

**What problems is Epic solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Patient emr maintenance is easy & straightforward. Prescription ordering to outpatient pharmacies is easy as well

  ### 36. Good EHR

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Nathan R. | Follow up Rep, Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** October 10, 2017

**What do you like best about Epic?**

I like the layout of the program. It is very easy to find patient records via the patient's name or by account number. It is very easy to navigate as well.

**What do you dislike about Epic?**

There is nothing that I dislike about epic.

**Recommendations to others considering Epic:**

I totally recommend epic ans a really good EHR that keeps everything organized. It’s also really easy to use once you get familiar with the program.

**What problems is Epic solving and how is that benefiting you?**

It's a very good system at keeping all the patients medical records secure.

  ### 37. EPIC insight

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Amber W. | CSR II, Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** July 27, 2020

**What do you like best about Epic?**

I like how everything can be documented in EPIC; from phone calls, to interactions with patients, etc. All of it is accessible under encounter or notes. So anyone in your facility who has access to EPIC will be able to see all the notes in the chart. This is helpful when you run a large company and not everyone is in the same office space or even building, but it keeps everyone informed on what is going on with this particular patient.

**What do you dislike about Epic?**

That there is no where to document patient interactions that are not part of their medical records history. Sometimes staff needs to be able to communicate issues with a patient without it being a part of their medical records file. Also, reports can be vague when you run them. It's not easy or a very good use of time to pull reports for specific tasks, such as how many people were scheduled by a particular staff member etc. You have to go in and manually click on each chart that employee accessed to determine further details.

**Recommendations to others considering Epic:**

Its great for large hospital or healthcare facilities, provides access to communication throughout the company and takes away the need for multiple programs.

**What problems is Epic solving and how is that benefiting you?**

You can pull reports on staff, what they did in EPIC, how many charts they were in and why. I think that's a great feature. Helps hold everyone accountable. You can send messages via EPIC so it takes away the extra need for e-mail software as well.

  ### 38. Most comprehensive medical record system

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Mental Health Care | Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** September 16, 2020

**What do you like best about Epic?**

Epic is very comprehensive in that it has so many options and different categories to view charts and history and information of patients. The program’s design allows for a lot of detail to be held in the charts. The sections are categorized well and the software itself is easy to click through all the categories. Scheduling and note writing is simple and thorough! Also, the backgrounds on the log in page change every time you log on and they are very nice pictures to look at!!

**What do you dislike about Epic?**

It was challenging to learn how to use in the beginning, but after training and using for a month you get the hang of it and it is pretty simple.

**Recommendations to others considering Epic:**

When learning the software, they have great tips and walkthroughs in their help options that are very useful.

**What problems is Epic solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I’m able to have better communication on my interdisciplinary team as I can view their records easily with great detail, and they view mine.

  ### 39. Epic is an essential contribution to the health insurance industry

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Leire Diez H. | Departamento de Control - Industrial projects , Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** August 20, 2020

**What do you like best about Epic?**

.Epic certainly helps you to configure your map view, history, screenshot. Users can see all of the medical, mental and financial information between one curriculum. Whether a nurse, psychiatrist or other service professional you will have anybody's observations embedded in it. It might encourage in coordinating care for a patient. You will have the right to set up templates ideally for your billing company. This takes less time to retype instructions increasing time.

**What do you dislike about Epic?**

I don't really like that I might access just 4 health records at a rate, I wish teachers 'd let me open up more and there's more capacity on the screen. At least 5 I 'd say, but possibly 6'd be a decent amount. This is irritating because after you open 4 patient sheets, it asks you to remove them before opening another tab. Also, everything always takes awhile to create / close pages within the Epic platform I would want the above went way faster.

**Recommendations to others considering Epic:**

Very extensive for reviewing information about patients. Some training to initial registration and flight control is helpful. Often beneficial is being able to change the interface. I like the way you see different results from different tabs / areas. And you'll see the laboratories, then you can select laboratories. This can also be obtained from the findings analysis, though, which offers you a closer insight at the completed experiments, dates and outcomes.

**What problems is Epic solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Epic performs quick pharmaceutical order monitoring research with supportive warnings and all the details you require (most often) is shown simultaneously. Epic also lets me monitor patient problems pending and leave messages to my colleagues. We recently had an additional messenger functionality that helps boost connectivity with other providers

  ### 40. Epic is unstoppable

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Hospital & Health Care | Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** April 29, 2021

**What do you like best about Epic?**

The capacity and capabilities and ability to edit and modify (wrench) your platforms

**What do you dislike about Epic?**

sometimes very small and wordy, however it's imperative to fit all the information in....somewhat of a learning curve depending on person

**What problems is Epic solving and how is that benefiting you?**

patient communication and also continuity of care by spreading info to other hospitals (w patient consent), but makes accesibility and followup feasible

  ### 41. EPIC is one of the best EMRs

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Hospital & Health Care | Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** June 04, 2018

**What do you like best about Epic?**

EPIC in my opinion is one of the best full EMR offering on the market today, it provides a large range of options and is fully customizable.

**What do you dislike about Epic?**

Users have full control of the software. This makes it almost impossible to have enterprise report since users make copies and save as private. When we need changes and users have private reports they will not see them and call in issues as the system is broken.

**Recommendations to others considering Epic:**

Epic is an expensive but a very good investment

**What problems is Epic solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Patient care is the top priority. This makes access to your own record a breeze.

  ### 42. Really user friendly, easy to customise. Complete alerts

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Barbara Ramirez N. | Project Manager, Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** July 27, 2020

**What do you like best about Epic?**

EPIC is much superior than all other EHR device that I have come across. Whereas some still tend to sound cumbersome and clunky, Awesome intuitively streamlines practical devices. I enjoy flow maps, and depend on the resuc copilot through codes on a daily basis. More critically, new changes focused on customer reviews are easy to understand, and continuously deliver. I just need to use any program again because I have used EPIC.

**What do you dislike about Epic?**

I don't like too much needing to go on various windows. So I don't like the choices I have to press when I have needless typos applied. Personally I react to all of that. They do have a lot of All that problems for users logging in. And occasionally admission will only sign in as a "inpatient" to an outpatient if they are still in the hospital, so if the mate is adolescent.

**What problems is Epic solving and how is that benefiting you?**

They use this device as a patient information program in electronic form. It makes it too simple to connect inside the facility with services, departments and even the house workers. It makes it much simpler to handle the reporting part of our work, and we can concentrate more on patient treatment!

  ### 43. Epic Review

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Kathleen S. | C, Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** July 11, 2020

**What do you like best about Epic?**

I like how easy Epic is to use! It really does look like a paper folder and I like all the tab options on the side. If I need to find a pathology report, it is very easy to do so. I also like that Epic is MAC or PC friendly. Since, most people have started working from home I've noticed that Epic is very work from home friendly.

**What do you dislike about Epic?**

I really don't like that I can only open 4 patient charts at a time, I wish they would let me open more because there's more room on the page. I'd say at least 5, but probably 6 would be a good number. This is annoying because after opening 4 patient pages, it tells you that you have to close them before you open up another chart. Also, within the Epic platform, it takes a long time to open/close pages I wish this went a little faster.

**Recommendations to others considering Epic:**

I would recommend using Epic instead of Powerchart for EMR, but keep in kind that you are only allowed to open 4 patient charts at a time. But other than this, it works great!

**What problems is Epic solving and how is that benefiting you?**

The problems I'm solving with Epic are that is it so easy to use from home. Sometimes apps that you mainly use on a PC computer at work don't transfer over so well to be used from home, but Epic is so easy to use! This is a major benefit.

  ### 44. Powerful tool, but should be easier to customize

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Medical Practice | Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** November 12, 2020

**What do you like best about Epic?**

Able to see electronic medical records from multiple devices and across different hospitals

**What do you dislike about Epic?**

It is hard to learn how to customize the different tabs and has a steep learning curve for new users. The medications screen is disorganized and hard to follow. I especially dislike the medications page because it's easy to lose track of a medication (if the dosage or frequency is changed, it shows up as a new line item).

**What problems is Epic solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Taking care of patients with EMR

  ### 45. Amazing Claim System

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Hospital & Health Care | Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** January 05, 2018

**What do you like best about Epic?**

Easy to use, always upgrading to provide the best service possible

**What do you dislike about Epic?**

Sometimes the upgrades can create a whole new flow on how to do things and that makes it hard

**Recommendations to others considering Epic:**

This system is streamlined to be connected to multiple hospitals for easy connection and makes processing and monitoring claims easy.

**What problems is Epic solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Medical claims, insurance coverage, chart notes and account notes. By using the system for all this I am able to easily connect to people who have worked my accounts and I can keep patient information current and claims paid

  ### 46. Great charting system and easy to use

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Ryan L. | Registered Nurse, Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** October 30, 2020

**What do you like best about Epic?**

Epic is easy to use and navigate. Lots of I formation in many different areas.

**What do you dislike about Epic?**

Sometimes provides too much information and makes it hard to find things.

**Recommendations to others considering Epic:**

It takes some time to adapt to finding where things are at.

**What problems is Epic solving and how is that benefiting you?**

None

  ### 47. Best EMR I’ve ever used

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Hospital & Health Care | Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** December 29, 2020

**What do you like best about Epic?**

It’s very easy to learn and use. The flags at the top are often very helpful (for medication allergies, alerts, etc.)

**What do you dislike about Epic?**

There is often more than one way to do something or to view certain information. Although this can be helpful at times, it is also confusing. Also, sometimes the home screen is overwhelming because there is so much to look at.

**What problems is Epic solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Medication alerts are helpful to decrease medication errors. Also, the scripted notes are extremely helpful in saving time.

  ### 48. The best electronic medical record for hospital-based practice

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Rahul K. | Resident Physician, Hospital & Health Care, Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** December 15, 2017

**What do you like best about Epic?**

Fairly intuitive software with multiple ways to view results, documentation, and enter orders. Being able to pull old notes and visit diagnoses forward and amend is useful. I also like being able to create "favorites" for medications and orders. The search feature works well. I also appreciate that it is customizable and has features unique to specialty. Within ophthalmology, the exam features (previous vision, intraocular pressures, etc) are very helpful.

**What do you dislike about Epic?**

There are many individual clicks and checkboxes to close a single encounter, which can be tedious when repeated dozens of times per day. There are some built-in shorcuts like "mark all as reviewed", but these function in only certain instances and could be modified to save time in other fashions.

**Recommendations to others considering Epic:**

Fully mastering the software requires a great deal of time using the product. EPIC training courses can be helpful but are not extremely useful in navigating day-to-day tasks. These are best learned by having multiple patient scenarios and someone assist you in finding features that can execute these more efficiently. I am still learning new things to speed up workflow, so having someone routinely evaluate how to improve use would be helpful.

**What problems is Epic solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Allows better sharing of healthcare records, improving accuracy of coding & diagnosis.

  ### 49. Best EMR around

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Hospital & Health Care | Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** March 05, 2021

**What do you like best about Epic?**

Easy to navigate between different sections of patient's chart.

**What do you dislike about Epic?**

Hard to answer. Very easy to use and upgrades are available quarterly.

**What problems is Epic solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Reducing wasteful time with easily finding pertinent information in the chart.

  ### 50. We are now implementing this in all of our offices.

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Hospital & Health Care | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** June 26, 2020

**What do you like best about Epic?**

The fact that we can access so many different hospitals and clinics through one system is completely amazing. We are even getting other physicians who are under our umbrella company to sign on with Epic as well. The system we are using now just does not compare to the competence of Epic so it was a no-brainer to make the change.

**What do you dislike about Epic?**

I do dislike that there are so many features, that it does take a substantial amount of training to learn everything. We had a team of IT featured users come in and walk us through everything. We needed them for a total of three sessions and still probably need them in the future for additional help with extra features that we may want to implement in the future. I also did not like that we had to undergo an untimely training process online where you had to view a number of training modules and take a test at the end. This was extremely time consuming when it came to work load and patient care in between.

**Recommendations to others considering Epic:**

Be specific with your training courses. Pay attention, there will be a testing conclusion. Utilize the IT help when requested, for them to come in person because you will need them in the beginning.

**What problems is Epic solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Since I am healthcare based, we are so grateful that we now have one system to connect all three of our offices and the two hospitals that we are affiliated with all in one electronic record setting with ease. We were using Epic to connect through a children's hospital in one location and realized the ease and convenience of charting and having access to hospital records and being able to attach a patients notes or records throughout one main system. We will now incorporate Epic in our intermediate office as well.
