**What do you like best about Botpress?**

The UI is really easy to use and everything is understandable. Sometimes it’s a bit hard to find what I need, but the search bar is really helpful for that. My only real issue with the UI is the connections between nodes: sometimes when I remove connections, I can still see them, but after I refresh, everything I removed disappears.

Performance is good, and publishing is fast. Most of the time it takes around 30 seconds, so I’d say it’s solid. I don’t really use integrations; the only one I use is my Excel tables, and it works perfectly with my code.

On pricing, I think the package-deal pricing is fine, but it would be better if you got +$5 to your AI usage instead of staying at the default $5. The AI (Autonomus nodes) is good, but not perfect. For example, if I load product information with more than 10–15 products, sometimes the AI makes hallucinations.

I haven’t really used the customer support because I can find everything through the search bar, and almost all the cards have descriptions and videos. I needed almost 1 month the understand everything.

**What do you dislike about Botpress?**

Sometimes it’s hard to limit what the user can do in the chat, but maybe it’s my fault—I’m not really sure how to set those limits. For example, if I only have a single choice, I want to lock the message option because otherwise the bot goes back to the first node and starts the conversation again.

**What problems is Botpress solving and how is that benefiting you?**

We’re trying to solve our “phone” problem: customers often call the shop, and now the bot can provide them with the key information they need, such as prices and the phone numbers for each department. This has made things better because only three people work in the shop, and we also handle truck unloading/loading, serving customers, and packaging goods for delivery. With all of that going on, sometimes nobody is able to pick up the main phone.

**What do you like best about Botpress?**

I like that Botpress is simple to use. It's easy to use regardless of whether I'm using a standard node or an autonomous node. Connecting the nodes is straightforward, and I can easily identify if there's a problem. The standard node is powerful for me as I use it a lot to integrate with other applications like Resend, Twilio, and WhatsApp API, and I also need to execute codes. The autonomous node helps in generating conversations on the chatbot. The initial setup of Botpress was very easy.

**What do you dislike about Botpress?**

I still fail to connect the workflows. Let's say I want to have a separate workflow for a quotation system and one for a price system to work together. It has been difficult to connect these flows as I created them separately.

**What do you like best about Botpress?**

Botpress makes it easy to build chatbots and integrate them into WordPress sites. Adding official sources for responses is straightforward, ensuring accurate and trustworthy communication. As a generative AI tool, it efficiently answers citizens’ questions about procedures, services, and regulations on transparency and access to information, using clear language for people without legal expertise.

The platform is fast in delivering responses and keeps conversations fluid. Updates are simple to manage, and the reporting tools are very useful to track interactions and monitor resource usage. I also appreciate how easy it is to find text and video tutorials that help quickly learn how to manage and administer Botpress.

**What do you dislike about Botpress?**

In the free plan, it is not possible to select custom date ranges when generating reports, which limits the ability to analyze specific periods. Another downside is that conversations cannot be exported in an open format, making it harder to integrate the data into visualization tools like Looker Studio. Having these features available would greatly improve flexibility and reporting capabilities.

**What problems is Botpress solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Botpress helps us provide clear and fast answers to citizens of Oaxaca about the requirements needed to complete a procedure or request a public service. It supports the right of access to public information by ensuring that every response comes from the official knowledge base, making the information trustworthy and accurate.

The most important benefit is that the platform allows us to offer this service 24/7, every day of the year. Later, by reviewing the interaction logs, we can understand the real needs of citizens and what they are looking for when visiting the state government portal. This has improved transparency, efficiency, and the overall quality of communication with the public.

The documentation could be more in-depth. Sometimes it’s hard to understand, and I find myself wishing certain parts were explained more clearly. there could be add flowchart and videos for easy to understand.

It provides low-code infrastructure for chatbots. It offers high automation with customization. We previously used another platform for an AI chatbot, but we found it difficult to implement and integrate into our software. **What do you like best about Botpress?**

I like the Botpress work interface because it is simple and fluid, allowing me to find the necessary components to generate agentic flows. I also value the wide range of available integrations, which allow for the creation of complex flows and actions. The documentation is very comprehensive, as is their YouTube channel where useful tutorials can be found for creating workflows and different applications to solve business problems. Additionally, the integration of standard nodes with default options reduces the costs of unnecessary calls to LLM APIs and perfectly complements the autonomous nodes for using LLM calls for more complex responses. Starting with Botpress was very easy due to its simplicity and power, making it very accessible compared to other platforms.

I have encountered some difficulty when working with variables, the specific panel where variables are defined sometimes does not allow defining 'user variables' for necessary situations. That part of the interface can be a bit confusing.

I like that Botpress is an immediate and intuitive help to answer any question that students may ask. It is especially useful because it can attend to students asynchronously when I cannot be with them. I also like that a lot of documentation can be added to it and that it responds quickly to students' queries. The configuration of the nodes is very easy, which facilitates the use of Botpress in my work.

What doesn't work well for me is that I haven't been able to add images. For example, requesting an image in the case of anatomy, it searches for it but doesn't display it. So, that's one of the major limitations I have with the bot. Additionally, I have problems with the variables and with the information flows, even though the nodes are very easy to handle.

Botpress is a very interactive no-code tool that lets me create a chatbot easily, without having to dig into the technical stuff. The WhatsApp integration is also super easy. On the Plus plan, the conversation analysis helps my organisation understand clients better.

**What do you dislike about Botpress?**

One thing I dislike is that it charges an extra $20 for more than 500 messages and API calls. If someone only needs a little more than 500, it feels like you still have to pay $20, even though you might not use anywhere near that many. We used to pay $20 for 5,000 calls, so this change seems a bit expensive.

We use Botpress with our clients to provide information about the latest schemes and the offers we provide. It also helps us store data and identify leads.

I really like the dynamism of Botpress. Being one of the first platforms I researched in the market, it stands out for being one of the first in its field, practically a pioneer. I see a lot of efficiency in the tool, constantly improving the solution it offers to our clients. This allows us to talk to them simultaneously without needing a large team. I also appreciate its ability to help me be efficient across all customer service and support platforms, thanks to the dynamism to configure actions within the platform. Additionally, the possibility of placing videos allows the user to feel that they are interacting directly with a human and not just following a guide.

**What do you dislike about Botpress?**

The issue of schedules could be improved a lot. We have to make very manual configurations, very script-based. There are other providers that already allow for easier customization. Botpress is falling a bit behind in that aspect, although it is improving.

The connection from one workflow to another workflows can be improved. As of right now, Botpress connection between each workflow isn't necessarily bad, it's just that there could be improvements such as cleaner workflow entry, redirection on entry point, and having an entry node be able to connect to a specific node instead of always going to the first node.

What I like most about Botpress is the repeatability, which is great and makes it easy to train and get running without needing much monitoring. Their implementation team has been phenomenal to work with, always going above and beyond to ensure we're happy and everything works as it should.

The voices for the AI agents weren't as good as we were hoping. They seem to be slowly getting better, but you can still tell it's an AI. People call it a robot. We wish the voices sounded more human-like so that it just sounds like a normal person. We don't want people to realize it's an AI, but, currently, they can tell.

Since it is open source, it should have good documentation, but the documentation is limited and not very high quality. Overall, the product quality feels low to me, especially in terms of response time.

**What do you like best about Botpress?**

I really appreciate Botpress for its user interface and the ease of connecting with any communication channel. It stands out because, after testing many different tools, Botpress made it easier to connect different parts, like standard nodes and autonomous nodes using AI models to reply, and switching between nodes. I can execute custom code and connect the agent into different communication channels like WhatsApp, Instagram, and our website. Additionally, having support in a paid plan is a big plus. The documentation is good, and the Discord channel is very helpful.

**What do you dislike about Botpress?**

My only issue was related to using the WhatsApp integration sandbox number for Brazilian phone numbers, but once connected directly via WhatsApp Business it worked fine. There was a small learning curve, but the documentation is good.

**What problems is Botpress solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I use Botpress as a hotel reservation assistant. It seamlessly integrates with our system API, letting guests check availability, make and manage reservations, and ask questions about the hotel and city.

I use Botpress for its integrations with tools for risk management research in the insurance industry. Botpress offers a variety of ways to enable nuanced interactions, which is vital for accessing data and asking specific types of questions. The platform is easy to use and very powerful. It provides a wealth of options for building bots, and as they say, the sky is the limit. I particularly enjoy the Execute Code cards because they offer freedom and allow for easy setup of API calls to external services, enabling rich engagement with data sources.

**What do you dislike about Botpress?**

The UI certainly requires a bit of attention. I've mostly been having issues with the Edge browser, sometimes it has rendering issues or will randomly reload the workspace. They need to improve how chat menu options and text handling are, well, handled. For instance with the Raw Input cards, you can't display formatted text in it like you can with a Text card. This is for when the user might have unique chat menu options, but have asked the bot for some detail that required it to provide a formatted response (like with bullet points), a Raw Input can't display that. So if you want the bot's response to be shown with chat menu items attached, then you have to be happy with an unformatted text field if you're using it to display bot responses. It was tricky at first because it was a bit earlier in the development of the platform, so things weren't as streamlined (in 2023/2024) as they are now.

Botpress enables nuanced interactions with risk management data, providing flexibility in accessing information. Its Execute Code cards facilitate seamless API setups for richer data engagement. It's easy to use and versatile, making it a powerful tool for bot building in the insurance industry.

Our support ticket volume is down almost 75% since implementing, with most user questions sufficiently answered by BotPress before users complete/submit their ticket.

I find Botpress very easy to use, which makes my tasks a lot simpler. The customer support was pretty good at the start when I was signing up, which helped me get started without issues. It integrates well with Twilio, allowing me to efficiently link them for my needs. The initial setup was effortless; I just set up the bot in the backend and linked it with Twilio without any complications.

The pricing breakdown and ways to add more bots are not clear. I struggle to find the cheapest way to have multiple bots at once. I tried to buy a bot to make 3, and it took my money but didn’t add the bot.

I use Botpress to automate our customer support, and it's highly configurable, much more than other products we have used. We can customize it as much as we would like to. It's also very easy to set up, even the proof of concept, which took just a couple of hours. The biggest benefit is the AI functionalities that we can use and configure within the platform to perform various actions like basic triage and incident response or creating tickets etc.

The overall onboarding process was a cumbersome. We didn't have technical people from their end to talk to us at the beginning.

The basics are pretty easy to pick up, and there's a lot of flexibility with plugins like Gen AI. These plugins help me get great answers for users much quicker than traditional methods. I appreciate how Botpress makes building a workable chatbot in a relatively short time less daunting.

I would love to see more support from an AI when actually building code inside the studio so it can check debugs or suggest different things as I'm doing it in real time. The multitude of different settings, in the studio and in the account, are confusing.

I appreciate that the Botpress team is quick to respond to issues and open to feedback. They consider implementing suggestions, which is great because if a feature is missing, they are open to discussing how to add and implement it. This openness makes Botpress valuable to me.

Conversation management is a big struggle. Botpress is coming out with a new tool called Desk, but it's still not fully featured. The biggest issue is that we can't take over conversations when the bot isn't helping customers or giving wrong info. The tools just don't support effective management. You almost need a custom front end to handle everything, and there's no functionality to manage user details easily either. It all relies on tags, which creates a huge wall to sift through, and there's no way to sort or filter these effectively.

Botpress helps us respond to people quickly and avoids the need to hire a large team to manage chats across all channels.

I found some inconsistent behaviors that are hard to pinpoint, especially with how the AI models handle certain data types, which has caused issues in the past. Additionally, the variable scopes not being respected correctly has been a problem, although some of these have been addressed by their support team. I think it would be great to have better documentation on how Botpress works under the hood, to truly understand how variables are handled and where/when they are being initialized. This would help in understanding where potential issues may arise.

It's not prescribed anywhere, and I think that's quite good. I'm also excited about the manual version because it allows me to configure my bot myself. The workspace is very clear, and I also find the studio very, very good. Additionally, if you delve into it a bit and watch a few videos, the setup is not necessarily difficult.

I find the lack of a global intent feature in Botpress a limitation compared to my previous experience with Voiceflow; I would like to set a keyword like 'STOP' that would universally allow the chatbot to return to the main menu, regardless of the flow the user is in. Additionally, the canvas becomes messy with a lot of lines connecting nodes. It would be an improvement to be able to connect nodes by name instead of dragging a line across the interface, which can get cumbersome and cluttered.

The modern Botpress Cloud isn’t self-hostable, while the self-host option is v12, a separate, legacy codebase with a different architecture and feature set. If a workspace hits its monthly messages/events limit, bots stop responding until the next reset or you buy an add-on. Keeping compute warm is an extra, paid add-on; otherwise, you can see start-up lag on the first call after idle periods.

Instead of wiring an LLM, RAG, tools, middleware, and UI yourself, Botpress gives you a single place (visual flows + code hooks) to design turns, call APIs, and control conversation state.

I find Botpress to be a very professional computer program. I appreciate how I can customize its responses to suit my preferences, and it's not difficult to achieve the desired functionality. Initially, I found the setup challenging, but learning to operate it was manageable, highlighting its user-friendly nature once familiar. I decided to try Botpress after hearing about it and found that it exceeded my expectations. Please allow using node modules in code nodes. Cannot use require or import. It is a highly requested feature, and it is still not added :(

**What do you like best about Botpress?**

I love the ease of building configured workflows in Botpress. I really enjoy the available dashboard and the ease of customizing them, which makes task creation and management much more efficient and tailored to my needs. Additionally, the integration of Botpress with platforms like WordPress and tools like Make.com works seamlessly, facilitating implementation and continuous use in different web environments. The initial setup was very simple, allowing me to start working quickly without complications. For these reasons, I am very satisfied with Botpress and highly recommend its use, considering it an excellent option for developing chatbots and artificial intelligence agents for web pages.

**What do you dislike about Botpress?**

Transparency in building professional chatbots could be improved. I would like to have better explained resources, especially in the use of different cards like carousel and the part of agents with autonomous nodes.
