[What is the most affordable WhatsApp marketing software for SMBs?](/discussions/what-is-the-most-affordable-whatsapp-marketing-software-for-smbs)

Been browsing the [G2 small biz grid for WhatsApp marketing](https://www.g2.com/categories/whatsapp-marketing/small-business) and trying to figure out which tools actually make sense for smaller teams. A few names keep popping up:

- [**Wati**](https://www.g2.com/products/wati/reviews) looks super SMB-friendly, very WhatsApp-focused.
- [**respond.io**](https://www.g2.com/products/respond-io/reviews) feels more like a team tool if you’re juggling a lot of convos.
- [**Brevo Marketing Platform**](https://www.g2.com/products/brevo-marketing-platform/reviews)is kind of an all-in-one (email, SMS, WhatsApp), seems cheaper for small teams.
- [**WhatsApp Business Platform**](WhatsApp%20Business%20Platform)is the “official” option, but seems pretty barebones on its own.
- [**Insider:**](https://www.g2.com/products/insider/reviews) honestly looks more enterprise-y, but very feature rich.

Curious what others here think! If you’re running promos as a small business, which one actually gave you the best bang for the buck? Stick with a simple WhatsApp-first tool or go with a broader marketing platform?

Maybe should I first try the free tools before trying the paid ones? https://www.g2.com/categories/whatsapp-marketing/free

If you’re a small business looking for affordable WhatsApp marketing software, the best option usually depends on how simple or advanced your campaigns are. From what many SMB users discuss, there are basically two approaches: WhatsApp-first tools (cheaper and simpler) and multi-channel marketing platforms. For budget-friendly WhatsApp-focused tools, platforms like Getgabs, GetItSMS, and Messagdly often come up. These tools are mainly built for broadcast messaging, campaign automation, and lead generation, so smaller teams can start running promotions, reminders, or customer updates without a complicated setup. They’re usually preferred by SMBs that just want WhatsApp marketing without paying for a big marketing suite. Then there are WhatsApp support + automation platforms like WATI or AiSensy. These are popular but slightly more expensive because they add features like team inboxes, chatbots, and CRM-style automation. For example, some plans start around ₹999–₹1,500/month for basic tools, while others like WATI can start closer to ₹2,499/month, depending on features. Another option is broader marketing platforms like Brevo, which combine email, SMS, and WhatsApp campaigns in one tool. That can be good if you want multi-channel marketing, but it might feel heavier than necessary if WhatsApp is your main channel. So the general pattern SMBs follow: Most affordable WhatsApp-first tools: Getgabs, GetItSMS, Messagdly Good balance of automation + support: WATI, AiSensy All-in-one marketing platform: Brevo In many cases, small businesses start with a simple WhatsApp-focused platform like Getgabs or GetItSMS for affordability, then move to bigger tools like WATI or Brevo once their campaigns and team grow.

For a small business, I’d probably start with a simpler WhatsApp-first tool unless you already know you need email, SMS, or broader campaign management too. The more focused tools usually give better value early on because you’re not paying for a bunch of extra features you may not use yet.

From our experience, SMBs usually follow a progression rather than picking one tool and sticking with it. Tools like Wati or similar WhatsApp-first platforms are great starting points because they’re focused, affordable, and easy to set up. They cover the basics like broadcasting, simple automation, and contact management without adding too much complexity. As needs grow, teams often start looking at platforms like Brevo or other multi-channel tools. These are useful if you want to combine WhatsApp with email or SMS, but they can feel heavier and more expensive if WhatsApp is your only channel.

One thing that mattered more than we expected was how responses are handled. Tools that combine broadcast with a shared inbox saved us a lot of time, since we don’t have a separate support team managing replies.

Answered: Yashwathy Marudhachalam on April 16, 2026

For us, the official WhatsApp Business Platform is technically the cheapest option, but it’s not very practical on its own. Most SMBs end up pairing it with another tool for usability.

[What is the best tool for sending bulk promotional messages on WhatsApp?](/discussions/what-is-the-best-tool-for-sending-bulk-promotional-messages-on-whatsapp)

I’ve been researching WhatsApp marketing tools recently (mostly through G2 reviews and comparison reports) because my mom's small business company is looking for a reliable way to send bulk promotional messages without running into delivery headaches. The landscape is a bit confusing since some tools are very WhatsApp-focused, while others are bigger customer engagement platforms that happen to include WhatsApp as a channel. Here’s what I’ve found so far from [G2](https://www.g2.com/categories/whatsapp-marketing)now:

- [**Insider:**](https://www.g2.com/products/insider/reviews) Seems to be the powerhouse overall. It’s more than just WhatsApp—it’s a full customer engagement suite with advanced personalization and automation. From what I’m seeing, it’s great if you’re scaling and want to do more than just blast messages.
- [**Wati:**](https://www.g2.com/products/wati/reviews) Probably the most popular for WhatsApp-first campaigns. Reviews say it’s easy to use, affordable, and built specifically for bulk promotional messaging. Feels like the go-to if WhatsApp is your primary channel.
- [**WebEngage:**](https://www.g2.com/products/webengage/reviews) Another engagement platform with strong segmentation and retention features. It’s not as WhatsApp-specific as Wati, but it does integrate WhatsApp campaigns into broader workflows.
- [**respond.io:**](https://www.g2.com/products/respond-io/reviews)Gets a lot of love for managing conversations at scale. Seems strong for teams handling high-volume WhatsApp messaging and customer support across multiple channels.
- [**WhatsApp Business Platform**](https://www.g2.com/products/whatsapp-business-platform/reviews) **:** The official option, but it looks pretty barebones unless paired with another tool for automation and campaign management.
- [**MoEngage**](https://www.g2.com/products/moengage/reviews) **,** [**CleverTap**](https://www.g2.com/products/clevertap/reviews) **,** [**Braze**](https://www.g2.com/products/braze/reviews) **,** [**Netcore**](https://www.g2.com/products/netcore-customer-engagement-and-experience-platform/reviews) **:** These lean more into omnichannel marketing/automation. They cover WhatsApp, but their focus is bigger-picture customer engagement, not just promotions.

Also seeing other options like Bravo, Gupshup, etc.

Has anyone here tested a couple of these side by side? Which one do you actually trust for sending bulk promotional campaigns without getting flagged or hitting deliverability issues?

For bulk promos specifically, Wati made the most sense to us kept things simple and we didn’t have to worry much about delivery or setup getting messy

I feel like the real challenge isn’t just finding a tool, but making sure messages actually get delivered at scale without hurting compliance or getting flagged. Has anyone found a setup that balances volume with reliability?

Answered: Soundarya Jayaraman on September 1, 2025

GetGabs: One of the platforms that’s very focused on WhatsApp marketing itself. It’s built around the official WhatsApp Business API and allows businesses to run bulk broadcast campaigns, automate conversations, and track campaign analytics from one dashboard. It feels similar to Wati in terms of use case—simple campaign management, automation, and segmentation—so it’s worth considering if your primary need is promotional broadcasts. GetItSMS: This one is slightly different because it combines WhatsApp and SMS marketing in the same platform. That can be helpful for businesses that want fallback messaging or want to run campaigns across both channels. It also uses the official WhatsApp Business API for secure delivery and compliance. Messagedly: Another tool in the WhatsApp marketing category. It includes bulk message broadcasting, shared team inbox, chatbots, and Click-to-WhatsApp ads, so it sits somewhere between a marketing automation tool and a customer conversation platform. Insider: More of a full customer engagement suite rather than a WhatsApp-only tool. It’s powerful for personalization and cross-channel campaigns but can be heavy if your only goal is WhatsApp promotions. Wati: Probably the most popular WhatsApp-first platform right now. It’s designed specifically for WhatsApp campaigns and is widely used by SMBs for broadcasts and automation. WebEngage: Strong lifecycle marketing and segmentation platform. WhatsApp is included, but it’s mainly meant for broader retention campaigns across email, push, and other channels. respond.io: Best known for managing conversations across multiple messaging apps. Great for teams handling high volumes of customer chats while still running WhatsApp campaigns. WhatsApp Business Platform: The official API option. Reliable but pretty barebones—you usually need tools like the ones above for campaign automation and easier management. MoEngage, CleverTap, Braze, Netcore: These are bigger omnichannel marketing platforms. They support WhatsApp but focus more on full customer engagement rather than just promotional broadcasts.

We’ve also seen better results for our brand when using WhatsApp for segmented campaigns rather than bulk sends. The deliverability improves when messages feel more personalized.

Answered: Shashank Shastry on April 16, 2026

In my experience, Insider and WebEngage are powerful, but they make more sense if you’re running multi-channel campaigns, not just WhatsApp blasts.
