Email Tracking Software Discussions
Hi, email tracking folks on G2, this one is for you. Every vendor in this space claims responsive customer support, and it's an easy claim to make right up until you’ve to actually experience it mid-campaign. So I've been going through what user reviews actually say about customer support response time in the Email Tracking category, since review-backed support scores are the one thing another user trusts.
Here's my read on four that come up constantly on G2:
- Mixmax (4.6, 1,450+ reviews): best known as the Gmail-native tracking and sequencing tool; its support quality scores 9.0 with reviewers, and responsiveness comes up repeatedly as a reason teams stay.
- Mailsuite (4.6, 130+ reviews), formerly Mailtrack: the lightweight tracker of the group, with support rated 8.9; reviewers describe a tool simple enough that support rarely needs to be tested, which is its own kind of answer.
- Saleshandy (4.6, 770+ reviews): cold-outreach focused, and in G2's head-to-head data reviewers give it the edge on support quality over Yesware; the caveat is that nearly all of its reviews come from small business seats, so support load looks different than at scale.
- Vendasta Yesware (4.4, 820+ reviews): the longest-established name here, now under Vendasta; its support quality sits at 8.5 with reviewers, and its notifications and attachment tracking still score strongly.
That's my read from the review data, from the outside. For the people who've actually filed a ticket with one of these: tell me where I've got it wrong, and which support team genuinely showed up when tracking broke on a live send.
Mixmax would be my pick here. From the review patterns, its support seems to stand out not just for responsiveness, but for actually helping when something affects an active workflow, which matters a lot more than a good support score on paper.
Hey G2 folks, honest confusion here: every email tracking product says they provide a clean dashboard, so asking which platforms have the most intuitive navigation is really asking what survives contact with a normal user on a busy day.
Researching the email tracking category, here is my working definition of intuitive:
- Tracking lives where you already work, with open and click status visible in the inbox rather than a separate tab
- The dashboard answers the only three questions that matter, who opened, who clicked, who went quiet, without configuration
- Notifications you can tune in one visit, because an interface that interrupts constantly stops being consulted at all
- Complexity that scales with you: simple on day one, with the deeper UX appearing only when you go looking for it
Going by G2's ease-of-use data, a few platforms reviewers consistently rate well on exactly this:
- Mailsuite (4.6, 130+ reviews): ease of use rated 9.4 by reviewers, the highest I've seen in this set; it stays deliberately small, which is largely why the interface stays clean.
- GMass: ease of use at 9.3, with reviewers crediting a straightforward interface that lets new users start quickly; it lives entirely inside Gmail, so there's barely a separate dashboard to learn.
- Mixmax (4.6, 1,450+ reviews): ease of use at 9.0 while carrying more feature weight than the two above, which is arguably the harder achievement; reviewers call out the intuitive setup of sequences specifically.
- Saleshandy (4.6, 770+ reviews): reviewers repeatedly praise the intuitive interface and fast setup, notable for a tool that handles multi-account sending under the hood.
The catch with all ease-of-use scores: they're rated by people who already chose the tool, so a trial is still the real test. And for the users here: what did you only discover about a tracking dashboard in the trial, good or bad, that no screenshot showed you?
Oh if it's ease of use you're after, it depends whether you want a tracker that lives in your inbox or one tied to your CRM. Cirrus Insight is a well-established option that puts open and click tracking plus scheduling right inside Gmail and syncs to Salesforce, so there's not much of a learning curve. If you want something even lighter, the dedicated trackers people usually call intuitive are Mixmax, Yesware and Streak, and HubSpot's Sales tools have a free, very approachable email tracking feature, worth checking those since they didn't surface in my quick high-review pull but are the usual easy picks. Honest tip, "intuitive" is personal, so I'd trial two on a free tier for a week and see which dashboard you actually glance at. Are you living in Gmail or Outlook? That narrows it fast.
Hi G2 community, which email tracking platforms offer the best Gmail browser extension, the kind you install from the Chrome Web Store and actually keep? Most advice on this lives in anonymous forum threads, so I want the review-backed version. From the email tracking category, four platforms whose Chrome extension is central to how they work, with G2's current numbers:
- Mixmax (4.6, 1,460+ reviews): lives almost entirely inside Gmail through its extension, adding tracking, scheduling, and templates to the compose window; real-time notifications rate 92% on G2's feature data.
- Saleshandy (4.6, 805+): a cold-email platform whose free Gmail extension handles the tracking basics, a common first step before teams grow into sequences.
- Vendasta Yesware (4.4, 820+) (formerly Yesware): one of the original Gmail tracking extensions, built for salespeople who want opens, clicks, and templates without leaving the inbox; real-time notifications rate 88%.
- HubSpot Sales Hub (4.4, 13,915+): the extension is free and connects Gmail to the wider HubSpot CRM, so tracking data lands on the contact record; worth knowing it is a doorway into a much larger suite.
The question reviews rarely answer: which Gmail extension did you actually uninstall, and what pushed you over the edge, the notification noise, the compose-window clutter, or Gmail updates breaking it?
I've uninstalled more Gmail extensions than I can count and it's almost never the tracking accuracy that gets me, it's Gmail pushing an update and the extension breaking for a week with zero warning. Mixmax has been the most stable one for me so far but I keep a backup plan mentally just in case.
