I like that Metal gives me a more targeted way to get connected to the people I want to reach out to, including getting warm introductions to particular investors through founders in their portfolio. The product is clean, has a large network, and has been improving pretty quickly. The initial setup was pretty easy.

What I like best about Metal is that it gives you a lot of the investor context you actually care about in one place. You can quickly look at a VC and get a sense of their dry powder, investment velocity, recent activity, stage and sector focus, and how relevant they are for a specific startup. I also really like being able to start from a category, look at companies in that space, and then see who invested in them. That’s a really powerful way to discover relevant investors and startups that you might not have found through a normal search. Metal makes investor research much faster and more thoughtful. Instead of starting with a giant list of VCs, you can narrow in on the ones that actually make sense and understand why.

As an investor, I appreciate tools that help founders focus on investors who are actually a fit - data over guesswork (or spray'n'pray outreach). As a tech nerd, I appreciate the platform's UI and the intentional features. And as a person who values authentic relationships, I love the Metal team. They've done a great job with partnerships and building the network.
