As always, setting up is always time-consuming, especially when you have tens of thousands of records. After learning the software a bit, we had to ask for some help. The response has been tremendous. The help has been fast and thorough. We just have one more area to complete before we’re fully set up, but we’ll get there in plenty of time. Project Resource Scheduling is where Avaza earns its place in our delivery process. Before committing to a new project, we can see who actually has capacity, how much of the week is already reserved, and which recurring responsibilities are quietly consuming time outside the new estimate. Recurring Schedule Bookings have made that view much more realistic for production support, architecture reviews, on-call coverage, and maintenance that repeats every week or month. We can update a single occurrence, the remaining bookings, or the entire series, and Avaza shows how many reservations will change before we confirm anything. That detail matters because technical capacity is rarely as simple as checking whether someone has another large feature assigned. A senior engineer may look free in the backlog while two mornings are already blocked for support, another client expects a weekly architecture session, and several pull requests still need review. Once those commitments are visible in Team Schedule, capacity planning stops depending on who remembers the most context or happens to be online when the conversation starts.

I really appreciate how easy Avaza makes it to track time and expenses, especially with its mobile-friendly website and apps. The ability to snap a photo of a receipt and email it in is super convenient. Having responsive, timely online support has also been invaluable when I get stuck.
