## About Zen Reports
Zen Reports is a generative engine analytics tool that helps marketers, SEOs, and content teams measure how much referral traffic their websites receive from AI engines such as ChatGPT, Google Gemini, Anthropic Claude, Perplexity, and Microsoft Copilot. The product connects to a Google Analytics 4 (GA4) property through read-only OAuth using the analytics.readonly scope. Once connected, it queries the GA4 reporting API and resolves the fragmented referral data that GA4 returns by default. In a standard GA4 setup, traffic from a single AI engine is split across multiple source and medium combinations ChatGPT alone appears as chatgpt.com, chat.openai.com, and openai.com, and Gemini appears as both gemini.google.com and bard.google.com. Zen Reports automatically maps each domain variant to its parent engine, producing one consolidated session count per engine without manual regex filters, spreadsheets, or custom channel groups. Zen Reports is built for in-house marketing teams, SEO agencies, and content site operators who already use GA4 and want a unified view of AI referral traffic for reporting and analysis. It complements GA4's native AI Assistant channel (launched in May 2026) by covering five engines instead of three, resolving AI sources retroactively across the full GA4 history available on the property, and providing per-engine breakdowns rather than a single bundled channel. The dashboard includes the following core features: - Engine Mix: session counts, share of total, and trend for each of the five AI engines side by side. - Citation Map: a ranked list of the pages on a website receiving the most AI-referred sessions. - Momentum: Month-over-month change in sessions per engine. - GEO Footprint: country and device breakdown per engine. - Source Resolution: automatic mapping of AI-engine domain variants to their parent engine, maintained as engines launch new domains. - Multi-property switching: a single dropdown listing every GA4 property under the signed-in Google account. Zen Reports measures human visitors only. It relies on Google Analytics' existing bot filtering, which combines the IAB/ABC International Spiders and Bots List with Google's proprietary detection. AI crawlers such as GPTBot, ClaudeBot, and PerplexityBot are intentionally out of scope, as crawler activity is not captured by JavaScript-based analytics.

## Zen Reports Reviews
 ### 1. Tracking traffic sources using Zenreports

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**What do you like best about Zen Reports?**

I like that Zen Reports is free, and they're not charging anything. It provides a single dashboard where I can look at all the traffic I'm getting from different sources. I can filter out different stuff, and it gives me an exact idea of what source is actually contributing how much traffic. It also includes traffic data about Chargebee and other LLMs, which is great. The initial setup was really easy, with Juan helping to set it up on a call.

UiUx is really simple, and it kind of integrates with GA, GSC, and everything, so that's what you want as a marketer, and it's pretty fast. The owner also has mentioned more integrations in the future, so looking forward to those.

**What do you dislike about Zen Reports?**

They should add the feature of tracking as well. They lack other custom integrations rn which they should add in future.

**What problems is Zen Reports solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I use Zen Reports for a single dashboard view to track traffic from various sources, filter data, and understand traffic contributions, including ChatGPT and LLMs.

 ### 2. AI Traffic Analytics Made Simple and Actionable

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**What do you like best about Zen Reports?**

What I like most about Zen Reports is how clearly it tracks AI referral traffic from platforms like ChatGPT, Gemini, Claude, Copilot, and Perplexity in one clean dashboard. The interface is simple, modern, and easy to understand, while still providing detailed insights such as session quality, bounce rate, engagement time, geographic data, device breakdown, and top-performing pages.

**What do you dislike about Zen Reports?**

One thing Zen Reports could improve is the depth of analytics when traffic volume is low. Some sections feel a bit empty when there is limited data, so adding more insights, benchmarks, or recommendations would make the dashboard feel more actionable. It would also be helpful to have advanced filtering, custom reports, and clearer explanations for certain metrics so newer users can understand the data more easily.

**What problems is Zen Reports solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Before using Zen Reports, it was difficult to measure how much traffic and engagement was actually coming from AI platforms like ChatGPT and other LLMs. Traditional analytics tools did not clearly separate or visualize AI referral traffic, making it hard to understand user behavior, engagement quality, and which pages were performing best.

Zen Reports solves this by providing a dedicated dashboard for AI-driven traffic insights. It helps us track sessions, bounce rates, engagement time, top-performing pages, geographic data, and device usage specifically from LLM platforms. This makes it much easier to understand how AI search and recommendations are contributing to website growth and content performance.
