What do you like best about UserBob?

UserBob is quick, cheap, effective. When you need to quickly see how a user responds to a design, UserBob is just about the shortest path to getting a recorded opinion. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about UserBob?

Because UserBob is basically a simple front end built on Amazon Mechanical Turk, you're often pulling from a pool of rather unsophisticated users. While you can input requirements users are supposed to look at and fit before accepting a job, it's on the honor system, and these criteria are often ignored. Recommendations to others considering UserBob:

UserBob creates tasks for folks on Amazon Mechanical Turk, so, your testing with UserBob is limited to the folks that platform attracts. If you require finer segmentation, consider using something more traditional (like UserTesting.com). What problems is UserBob solving and how is that benefiting you?

. Granting our designers access to a UserBob account pre-loaded with credit has dramatically lowered the friction to getting user opinions. New designs will routinely be tested, and we'll share the resulting videos on Slack so the entire company can learn what design patterns are working (or not). What do you like best about UserBob?

Very affordable price. Userbob is the best option for an early startup or a small business which doesn't have enough budget to get user feedback about websites, mobile web, and apps. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

Setting criteria for test participants is limited. You can select only age (30 or younger, over 30), gender, marital status (married vs not married) and add simple extra requirement. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

Recommendations to others considering UserBob:

You can get a 1-minute user feedback with a price of a cup of coffee. Even if you are not very satisfied with the test result quality, it doesn't hurt much. It's worth to try. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What problems is UserBob solving and how is that benefiting you?

I wanted to understand how a new user understand when visiting our website. The test size was relatively small and I had a limited budget. UserTesting was not an option for me. I found Userbob, and ran the first impression test. It took only 1.5 days to get 9 users feedback (1-3 min video from each). Quality of user feedback was also ok.
