## Upstack Reviews
  ### 1. Great resource for finding talent!

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** David L. | CTO & EVP, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** June 30, 2021

**Describe the project or task Upstack helped with:**

We've worked with Upstack on several long-term projects/products over the past couple of years. Projects have included mobile app development (React Native), web development (React, Ruby on Rails), and data engineering/analysis (PostgreSQL, Google BigQuery, Data Studio, Metabase, etc.).

**What do you like best about Upstack?**

No matter what the project is or what role we need to fill, Upstack has always been able to come through with quality talent from across the globe. Furthermore, their account management & support teams are engaged and helpful throughout the process, consistently going the extra mile to help us source the right people. Finally, their "try before you buy" approach to contractor placement means that we can accurately assess employees' fit on the job vs. relying on antiquated processes that can be frustrating for both the company and employees when things don't work out.

**What do you dislike about Upstack?**

If you're looking for US-based, on-site candidates, Upstack may not be the platform for you. Fortunately for us, we've planned for globally distributed, remote teams since day one, which makes working with Upstack a breeze.

**Recommendations to others considering Upstack:**

Rely on your CSM's experience - often, they have prior experience with the candidates you're interviewing and can provide additional insights into how they've worked with other teams.

**What problems is Upstack solving and how is that benefiting you?**

In an era where market competition for technical talent is at an all-time high, Upstack has consistently helped us fill roles across our product and engineering organizations quickly, efficiently, and cost-effectively. We'd probably still be going through the recruiting, hiring, and onboarding process for many recently filled positions if it weren't for Upstack's streamlined approach to sourcing, vetting, and hiring for technical roles.

  ### 2. Former TopTal Client

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**What do you like best about Upstack?**

Having only hired developers through Upwork and TopTal in the past, I knew that hiring vetted developers like with TopTal is well worth it. However, when TopTal didn't have the right developer for our most recent project, I started shopping around.

UpStack provided us with all the benefits of Toptal (speedy hiring process, quality pre-vetted talent) but with a much, much more personalized and enjoyable experience. I worked with Maggie first on the customer service end before dealing with George and the developers directly, and I can honestly say I won't even consider going back to TopTal.

UpStack's experience is just so much more bespoke, the quality of the developers is extremely high, and you're paying that TopTal premium. Just an all-around great experience and I look forward to reaching back out to them for future projects.

**What do you dislike about Upstack?**

I have quite a few things that I disliked about my experiences with both Toptal (aggressive selection process, impersonal process, very high costs) and Upwork (perhaps for economical at face value, but you don't know what you're getting – and UpStack really solved all issues. I don't really have any negatives. The rates were economical, but the talent was vetted and high quality – all while offering a more bespoke, less aggressive experience than TopTal.

**What problems is Upstack solving and how is that benefiting you?**

We're going through a rebranding and are launching multiple new marketing sites with a modern stack powered by a single, multisite CMS.
