For rotorcraft the gap that causes most grief is usually component history rather than airframe hours, because parts move between aircraft and each carries its own life limits, cycles and overhaul intervals. That means the record has to follow the component through every installation and removal, and a system organised primarily around the airframe makes that awkward. Veryon reviewers naming sub-assembly management and cycle tracking as the manual workaround is pointing at exactly this. Worth demoing a component removal and reinstallation on a different aircraft, since that single transaction reveals how the data model is shaped.
