Comprising a wide range of tools, ILWIS provides rational geographic data processing and analysis and is used as a GIS platform for generating maps. Several limitations emanate from the absence of a stable cloud-based framework and include the following; Tranferring a huge amount of data to peers or saving data used for a particular project in the cloud is not possible with no specialised software or requires significant extra steps. By incorporating a wide range of tools within a single platform, ILWIS reduces the necessity of using various software packages for remote sensing and GIS analysis.
