Is TimeClock Plus by TCP free, or does it offer a free trial?

No. According to G2 data, TimeClock Plus by TCP does not offer a free plan or free trial. Users need to purchase a paid plan to access the product. Visit the seller's official pricing page for current pricing details and plan options.

Who is TimeClock Plus by TCP pricing best suited for?

TimeClock Plus by TCP's pricing is best suited for stable mid-market organizations with 51 to 1,000 employees, particularly in education, healthcare, government, and manufacturing. G2 reviewers from these segments consistently report strong satisfaction with core timekeeping, scheduling, payroll export, and compliance features. Multi-location employers and those needing job or cost code tracking also find strong fit. The per-employee custom pricing model becomes less favorable for small businesses with tight budgets or seasonal workforce swings, as G2 reviewers in hospitality, construction, and religious institutions flag licensing complexity. Enterprise users in higher education and hospital systems also use TimeClock Plus by TCP successfully, particularly when dedicated implementation support is provided.

What are the key differences between the free and paid versions of TimeClock Plus by TCP?

According to G2's pricing data for TimeClock Plus by TCP, no free tier or free trial is listed. TimeClock Plus by TCP operates exclusively on a custom-quote subscription model with per-employee licensing. G2 reviewers note the pricing structure charges for each active employee, with costs adjusting as headcount changes. One small business reviewer highlighted the awkwardness of managing license counts during staff fluctuations, and a construction reviewer flagged prorated charges for mid-cycle employee additions. Enterprise needs are addressed through custom quotes. There is no entry-level free option to compare against paid tiers; all access to TimeClock Plus by TCP's features requires a paid subscription agreement.

Is TimeClock Plus by TCP considered good value for its pricing?

G2 reviewers present a mixed but generally positive value picture for TimeClock Plus by TCP. High-rating reviewers across mid-market and small business segments frequently cite reasonable pricing relative to competitors, with one education reviewer noting TCP was roughly 20% higher than alternatives and a manufacturing reviewer praising scalability from 40 to 700 employees over a decade. However, per-employee licensing fees draw consistent criticism, particularly for organizations with seasonal headcount fluctuations. A construction reviewer warned of aggressive annual billing practices and difficult contract exit terms. G2 reviewers in healthcare and education with high ratings still flag licensing costs as a concern, suggesting TimeClock Plus by TCP delivers strong value for stable mid-market workforces but less so for variable-headcount or budget-constrained organizations.

"Reliable Core Timekeeping, but Support and Analytics Need Improvement"
3.5/5
What do you like best about TimeClock Plus by TCP?

TCP does a lot of things very well for a timekeeping system. So far, the data has been incredibly accurate and reliable. Once you set the rules for calculations, it runs them correctly, although getting those configurations set up can be a challenge. We were given two dedicated enterprise support people, and they have been very helpful and knowledgeable about TCP.

The interface is simple and effective, but it can sometimes be difficult to find things. The export feature is also nice for creating our own scripting, and we’ve had success uploading files to their SFTP server. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about TimeClock Plus by TCP?

My biggest complaint with TCP is the separation between the teams we work with directly and their backend/development teams. The process feels very siloed, and when we run into a problem, it often takes a long time to get a clear answer, solution, or fix.

TCP has also not been very transparent with timelines or issue resolution. We frequently find ourselves waiting months just to get an update on how long a fix may take, and then it can take several more months before the fix is actually released. Once a fix is available, much of the testing seems to fall completely on us, which is time-consuming. I wish TCP would be more proactive with bug testing, communication, and follow-through.

We were also promised that Analytics would allow us to build custom dashboards and do more with our data. Unfortunately, Analytics did not deliver on that promise. The data reporting was often inaccurate, the dashboard and report-building process was difficult, and the system would frequently break or not work as expected. We ultimately ended up canceling that feature.

Overall, TCP has useful functionality, but support, communication, bug resolution, and Analytics have been frustrating areas for us. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
