I really find TherapyNotes valuable because of its record-keeping capability and simple case notes feature. Additionally, its connection to claims processing is critical for our clinic's workflow, particularly for our 30 therapists and 7 staff. I also appreciated that the initial setup was easy. What I appreciate most about TherapyNotes is how intuitive and user-friendly the system is. Their customer service team is exceptional—always responsive, knowledgeable, and genuinely supportive. The billing structure is easy to understand, even for those new to private practice, and the abundance of tutorials helps me stay current with new features and best practices. I also value how responsive they are to provider feedback. When I’ve suggested improvements, they’ve not only listened but sometimes rolled out updates shortly after—often accompanied by a helpful blog post. Honestly, there’s very little I dislike about TherapyNotes. If anything, I’d say that in their effort to stay current and meet the needs of a wide range of therapists, some updates can occasionally add extra steps to our workflow. One feature I would love to see improved is the messaging system. While I appreciate the ability to message clients individually, it would be incredibly helpful to have a group messaging option. This would allow practices like mine to send announcements—such as office closures or holiday reminders—to all clients at once. I’ve shared this feedback with them, and knowing how responsive they are, I’m hopeful it’s something they’ll consider. Regardless, I’m still very happy to have TherapyNotes as part of my practice. Customer support is abysmal. Clients can request appointments during times that are blocked off as unavailable. I've requested updates on when this will be fixed and got no response at all until I sent multiple emails asking why they were not responding (waiting 24 hours between each message on business days to give them time to respond).

They have a Facebook group that is supposed to be to ask for help, but admins arbitrarily delete comments and posts. When asked why my post was deleted, they lied and said they did not delete it. When I pushed the issue they said they have the right to delete posts and refused to discuss further.

When I signed up, I chose TherapyNotes because they stated my price would not be raised. A year later they raised prices and refused to address their prior promise.

If I were choosing an EHR today, I would not go with TherapyNotes due to how awful their customer service is, but it's hard to switch. I hope this review warns others to look elsewhere. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

I love TherapyNotes customer service! They are always SO helpful! I love that TN is updating their system constanlty to include new features based on feedback from users! It is easy to learn and easy to use! When you use TN all day every day, it's important that you love it and we do! I am so glad I chose TN as my EHR 2 years ago! My only complaints are: need for secondary billing to save time, need for ROI intergrated in the system to save time, option for admins to add and remove clients for providers, and option for admins to be able to download and send records as needed! TherapyNotes allows you full customization for your client experience. They offer HIPPA compliant video software, scheduling, billing, forms- everything you could need for a private practice. My ONLY gripe is that it does not allow other calendars to write to it- which I sent as a recommendation to the company because navigating multiple calendars is challening, especially if you receive referrals from multiple platforms/sources

It DOES write to other calendars and sync's pretty quickly, so I haven't made any scheduling errors in the 2 years in business, but I'm super diligent about scheduling my appointments as soon as I receive an appointment notification from the other sources. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

TherapyNotes has the best customer service! Each and every time I call/email they give me what I need...support! They take time to walk me through things, and send detailed follow up emails which helps so much. As a business owner I get busy with so many tasks and having those emails to refer back to is so helpful! If I could rate them a 100 I would! Keep up the great work! I can't think of any downsides at the moment. It used to be that I couldn't customize my own documents to send to clients, but that has changed! I am so happy with their services. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

Therapy Support customer service is always helpful and they do the research to get the right answers. I never dread calling them and I know they are always there to help, whether to confirm that my next steps are correct or to guide me through new processes. Also, I feel that Therapy Notes Billing processes are steadily improving thanks to their team, who are always willing to listen and troubleshoot alongside billers like me. Therapy Notes is easy to use but there are still some billing settings I would like to see put in place to make reports readily available so we can look at the big picture for specific data. Also, some of the updates have made the on-screen data clunky and hard to see because of data alignment. Even arranging the column criteria won't fix some of the issues.

I would really like it if the insurance ID Card images were attached to the business's insurance field that was set up on Intake since clients often fill out the data inaccurately.

TherapyNotes offers a great EHR product at a competitive price. The company works hard to make improvements and is continually adding functionality by adding new features. For a sophisticated EHR system, much of it is laid out intuitively and there is a library of how-to videos and tutorials available for review. I have contacted the support staff a few times and I have always been very satisfied with how quickly I was able to have my issues resolved. What is prompting this review is that earlier today I realized that I had made some coding errors (CPT codes, modifiers, and POS codes) which were totally my fault for entering incorrectly. I ended up having a 45 minute phone conversation with customer support where they walked me through the solutions and helped me get back on track- I did not feel rushed even once, and the staff was warm, friendly and supportive. Sometimes when TherapyNotes updates are released with new and really useful features, I feel a little like I'm experiencing the "growing pains" of the product and that I need to pivot how I have been doing things so I can take advantage of the new features. But really, is this even a complaint? I feel like TherapyNotes is consistently working to offer a top notch product for a reasonable price, and I'm glad that it is continuing to evolve. Customer service support representatives are always eager to help, professional and knowledgeable. I have literally never had a question or problem they couldn't fix. I always receive a follow up email with a synopsis of the problem or question and the remedy to fix it. I save the responses in case the issue comes up again in the future. It's usually user error and not TherapyNotes' error I might add. Wonderful company and staff!
