## About Tether
Tether is an endpoint security solution designed to stop device-based risk instantly—without relying on destructive actions like remote wipe. Instead of eliminating risk by erasing the device, Tether uses Secure Containment to isolate compromised or high-risk endpoints from sensitive systems in real time. This gives security teams immediate control over a device during an incident—without destroying data or losing visibility. When a device is lost, stolen, or suspected of compromise, Tether enables teams to cut off access to corporate resources and restrict its interaction with critical systems. The device remains intact, allowing security teams to investigate, preserve evidence, and make informed decisions before taking irreversible action. This approach is particularly valuable in scenarios where remote wipe introduces additional risk, such as: Active incident response and investigation Compliance and audit requirements Situations where preserving device state is critical Large, distributed endpoint environments By replacing irreversible actions with controlled, reversible containment, Tether provides a more precise way to manage endpoint risk. The result is faster response, stronger control, and better-informed outcomes—without the tradeoffs of traditional remote wipe approaches.

## Tether Reviews
  ### 1. Great interface and solid product

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Information Technology and Services | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** April 22, 2026

**What do you like best about Tether?**

We used Tether back when they were known as EXO5. The interface has come a long way and it is a great way to manage encryption on a distributed fleet of mobile devices. Being able to track location, remotely wipe or lock a computer down is very helpful.

**What do you dislike about Tether?**

I don't have any integrations enabled in Tether, and we use the console as a standalone feature. The website loads fast and it is easy to navigate and find what you need. I wish it was easier to perform renewals though rather than having to do everything through email. It's only once per year so it's not a big deal but would be a nice value add.

**What problems is Tether solving and how is that benefiting you?**

We've had clients who use mobile devices and at the time when Tether was EXO5, there wasn't a way for Microsoft to store keys so we were storing them in our CRM. That was cumbersome and sometimes we'd lose a key. With Tether I don't have to worry and the cost is minimal so well worth it in our opinion.

  ### 2. The Go-To Solution for Remote Device Management

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Karl K. | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** March 11, 2026

**What do you like best about Tether?**

I've worked with Tether for almost a decade and it has been a great small business solution that has scaled with us as we've grown, now supporting over 100 employees. Tether is easy to use and manage, especially for small businesses without large IT teams. It automates the tracking of laptops for remote employees and allows us to trace, deactivate, or temporarily restrict devices as needed. Installing Tether is simple and can be done in minutes, locally or remotely. I also appreciate their amazing service, responsiveness, and elite support.

**What do you dislike about Tether?**

N/A. They product and service are exceptional.

**What problems is Tether solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Tether automates tracking of laptops for remote employees, allowing us to trace, deactivate, or restrict devices easily. It's user-friendly, manageable without a large IT team, and has scaled with our growing business.
