"Powerful Tool for Tracking Sales and Performance Dashboards"

4.5/5

What do you like best about Tableau?

What I like most about Tableau is how easily it converts raw data into clear, interactive dashboards. In my role, I use it to track KPIs like sales performance, team productivity, and training outcomes, especially during weekly and monthly business reviews.

The drag-and-drop interface makes it easy to build dashboards, and I can quickly connect data from sources like Excel to start visualizing trends. For example, I use it to monitor conversion rates and team performance, which helps in identifying gaps and making data-driven decisions.

It has significantly reduced the time spent on manual reporting compared to Excel, and the dashboards make it much easier to present insights to stakeholders in a way that’s easy to understand and act on. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Tableau?

One challenge I’ve faced with Tableau is the learning curve, especially when working with calculated fields and more advanced dashboard features. It takes some time to get comfortable, particularly when building more complex dashboards from scratch.

In terms of performance, I’ve noticed that it can slow down when working with larger datasets or dashboards with multiple visualizations and filters. This can impact responsiveness during analysis or while presenting dashboards in review meetings.

Additionally, the licensing cost can be on the higher side, especially when scaling usage across teams. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What problems is Tableau solving and how is that benefiting you?

Before using Tableau, we relied on Excel-based reports, which made it difficult to track performance efficiently and derive insights quickly.

In my role, I use Tableau to create dashboards that track sales performance, team productivity, and training metrics. These dashboards are used in regular reviews to monitor progress and identify areas of improvement.

As a result, reporting has become faster, and decision-making is more data-driven. It has also improved visibility for stakeholders by presenting data in a more structured and visual format. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"Best Platform for Data & Business Intelligence"

5/5

What do you like best about Tableau?

Tableau keeps getting better with every update. The AI features they've added recently are genuinely useful — it now suggests insights automatically without you having to dig for them, which saves a lot of time.

I also really like that you can now ask questions in plain English and get a chart back instantly. It's made sharing quick answers with non-technical teammates so much easier.

The dashboards have also become more interactive and polished looking — stakeholders notice the difference and it makes presentations feel a lot more professional."

Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Tableau?

Tableau is powerful but it takes time to get comfortable with, especially for new users. A more guided onboarding experience would help people get up to speed faster.

Performance can also slow down when working with very large datasets, which gets frustrating when you're in the middle of building something. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What problems is Tableau solving and how is that benefiting you?

I use Tableau in my day-to-day duties. As a reporting analyst I used the charts, graphs to analyised thed data nad bring out stories from the data that can helps us to take better becison decisions. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"Turns Complex Data Into Beautiful, Intuitive Dashboards"

5/5

What do you like best about Tableau?

Tablue is how it turns intimidation meddy data into something actually beautiful and intuitive. It not just about charts it about the moment when a complex trend suddenly clicks because of a clean dashboard. The drag and drop interface feels natural like you're having a real time conversation with you data rather than fighting with code. and the cmmunity is incrediable there always someone sharing creative way to visualize a though problem. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Tableau?

the learning curve can be pretty steep once you move past basic charts. Calculations and "Level of Details" expression ofetn feel needlessly complex compared to quick Excel formula. Its aslo quite expensive for individuals and the performance can sluggishly crawl if you're dealing with massive dataset without a perfectly optimized extract. Sometimes it feels more like a puzzle than a tool. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What problems is Tableau solving and how is that benefiting you?

Tableau solve the massive problem of data silos and spreadsheet fatigue by messy information into one clear visual story. For me it replace hours of manual data cleaning and complex coding with intuitive drag and drop actions. It benfits me by turing raw numbers into actionable insight instantly allowing me to spot trends or anomalies Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"Interactive Dashboards and Real-Time Reporting Made Easy"

4.5/5

What do you like best about Tableau?

Its ability to turn raw data into interactive visual dashboards, even without much prior knowledge, is commendable. Fast data analysis and real-time reporting are also strong features, along with several other aspects of the software that work really well. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Tableau?

Licensing can be expensive at times, and the data preprocessing options feel limited. Also, when working with very large datasets, the performance isn’t really up to the mark. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What problems is Tableau solving and how is that benefiting you?

It turns the large amount of data I have into easy-to-understand visual insights. It also helps me create superb dashboards and makes it easier to communicate clearly with both technical and non-technical stakeholders. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"Brings Data to Life with Powerful, Interactive Dashboards."

4.5/5

What do you like best about Tableau?

It brings the data to life, that’s what it does. Tableau’s interface is like a child’s toy, but it’s a very powerful toy. When I show my colleagues the dashboard, they are amazed, because the colors and layout are so good that the numbers speak for themselves. This interactivity is its greatest asset. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Tableau?

There are so many versions of it, you have to learn a new interface every time, like a first-day exam. I want the interface to at least stay the same so that my mind can relax. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What problems is Tableau solving and how is that benefiting you?

Tableau connects data in one click, whether it’s Excel or SQL. I especially like its live connectivity because I can connect it to ExxonMobil’s large databases and see the results immediately. This is a huge advantage for a non-technical person like me, because I don’t know how to code, I just click and it’s done. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"Tableau Turns Complex Data into Clear, Actionable Dashboards"

4/5

What do you like best about Tableau?

What I like best about Tableau is how effectively it turns complex data into clear, professional, and easy-to-understand dashboards. For our programs, this makes it much easier to track attendance, outcomes, survey results, and overall program performance without relying only on spreadsheets.

The UI is clean and interactive, so data can be filtered and explored in real time. I also appreciate how well Tableau integrates with different data sources, which helps bring information together in one place. The performance is strong, even with larger datasets, and the visualizations make it easier to communicate impact to leadership, boards, funders, and other stakeholders.

Overall, the best part of Tableau is that it helps turn data into actionable insights. While it does take some time to learn, the value and return on investment are strong because it saves time, improves reporting, and supports better decision-making. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Tableau?

What I dislike most about Tableau is that it can have a noticeable learning curve, especially for users who are new to data visualization or business intelligence tools. The dashboards are very powerful, but building more advanced reports, calculations, and custom visualizations can take time and training.

The pricing can also be a challenge, especially for smaller organizations or nonprofits that need to carefully manage software costs. While the return on investment is strong once the platform is being used well, the initial cost and setup time can feel like a significant commitment.

I would also like to see more beginner-friendly onboarding, templates, and guided support for common reporting needs. The AI and intelligence features are helpful, but they could be even more accessible for users who are not data analysts. Overall, Tableau is an excellent tool, but it would be even stronger if it were easier for new users to set up, learn, and use confidently right away. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What problems is Tableau solving and how is that benefiting you?

Tableau is helping us solve the problem of having program data spread across multiple places and formats. In our YET programs, we track a lot of information, including attendance, participation trends, survey responses, program outcomes, meals served, activity engagement, and data needed for grant or board reporting. Without a strong visualization tool, that information can easily stay buried in spreadsheets and become difficult to interpret quickly.

Tableau helps bring that information together into clear dashboards that are much easier to understand and share. It allows us to see trends in real time, identify areas where students or families may need additional support, and better evaluate whether our programs are meeting their goals. The ability to filter data and create visuals also makes it easier to communicate impact to leadership, donors, funders, and community partners.

The biggest benefit is that Tableau saves time while improving decision-making. Instead of manually building reports from scratch, we can use dashboards to review key information more efficiently and make adjustments to our programs based on actual data. For a youth-serving organization, that means we can better track participation, demonstrate outcomes, improve program quality, and tell a stronger story about the impact our programs are having on students and families. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"Intuitive Drag-and-Drop BI with Polished Visuals and Strong Data Source Integration"

5/5

What do you like best about Tableau?

Tableau's drag-and-drop interface is intuitive enough for business users while still being powerful for analysts. It integrates seamlessly with a wide range of data sources — from SQL databases to cloud platforms — which makes it easy to pull in data without heavy engineering support. Performance on large datasets is generally strong, and the visualizations are polished enough to use directly in executive presentations without extra formatting. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Tableau?

Pricing is a significant barrier, Tableau's licensing costs can be hard to justify for smaller teams or organizations still building out their data culture. The onboarding curve is steeper than it looks; while the basics are accessible, mastering calculated fields and LOD expressions takes real time. Support resources are decent but can feel generic. Native AI/ML features are still catching up to competitors, and embedding Tableau into external tools requires more technical lift than it should. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What problems is Tableau solving and how is that benefiting you?

Tableau helps bridge the gap between raw data and business decision-making. Instead of static spreadsheets or ad-hoc reports, it gives stakeholders a single, interactive view of performance metrics they can explore themselves , reducing back-and-forth with the data team. For FinOps and cloud cost reporting specifically, being able to visualize spend trends, anomalies, and forecasts in real time has made it easier to drive accountability across teams. The ROI shows up in faster decisions and fewer hours spent manually compiling reports. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"Fast, Intuitive Interactive Reporting with Tableau"

5/5

What do you like best about Tableau?

Tableau is a good tool to quickly take data and put into easy-to-share interactive reports. Drag and drop is fairly intuitive, data sources are almost always easy to connect to. It offers a lot of freedom in terms of charting and the ability to play with filters on the report directly without redoing anything have been fantastic for faster reporting. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Tableau?

Working on a complex calculation or a sophisticated dashboard may have a relatively high learning curve. It might be somewhat slow on really large datasets, if the dashboard itself hasn’t been very optimized. Price could be a problem for certain companies. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What problems is Tableau solving and how is that benefiting you?

We transform massive data into easy to digest information and dashboards. It’s been useful in helping us get back hours spent building out reports, increased visibility of critical data points and made information sharing among our teams much quicker. Basically, helped speed up reporting and decision-making. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"Powerful, Fast Dashboards—But Pricing and Advanced Features Take Work"

3.5/5

What do you like best about Tableau?

Sure! Here are some solid points you could use for a Tableau review:

Ease of use: The drag-and-drop interface makes it easy to build visualisations without needing to write code, so non-technical users can get up and running quickly.

Visual depth: It handles complex, interactive dashboards well; you can drill down into data in ways that feel intuitive rather than clunky.

Connectivity: Connects to a wide range of data sources (spreadsheets, SQL databases, cloud platforms) without much friction.

Speed: Even with large datasets, the visualisations load and update fast, which makes live presentations much smoother. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Tableau?

Pricing: It's on the expensive side, especially for smaller teams or startups; the licensing costs can add up quickly.

Learning curve for advanced features: While the basics are easy, more complex calculations and LOD expressions can get tricky without proper training.

Performance with very large data: At a certain scale, dashboards can slow down noticeably unless you're using extracts or a well-optimised data source. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What problems is Tableau solving and how is that benefiting you?

Centralising data visibility: Instead of jumping between spreadsheets and reports, everything lives in one place; it saves a lot of time when you need a quick read on performance.Faster decision-making: Being able to visualise trends in real time means you're not waiting on someone to pull a report; you can spot what's working and what isn't on your own.
