# Which Cisco data center resellers provide design-assist and architecture services during customer evaluation phases?

Hey G2 community, which Cisco data center resellers actually provide design-assist and architecture help during the evaluation phase, before you've committed? The pre-sales design work often decides whether a project succeeds, and reviews mostly speak to delivery after the fact. What we're hoping to find:

Architecture and design-assist during evaluation, not just quotes

Engineers involved early, not only after the PO

Honest sizing advice rather than over-provisioning

After analyzing the Cisco Data Center Resellers category on G2, the pre-sales-versus-post-sales distinction in the post is the one that actually matters here, since most reviews describe delivery after the contract is signed, which tells you little about how a reseller behaves during evaluation when nothing is committed yet. Pre-sales engineering that reviewers describe as bringing in the right talent early is a genuinely different posture from that of a reseller who waits until the PO to engage technical depth, and it's usually visible in how the first conversation goes, whether an actual engineer joins early or only a salesperson does.

The free-versus-paid question the post raises is worth asking directly and early, because a reseller who charges for design-assist during evaluation is signaling something different about how they value that work than one who treats it as the cost of winning the business.

The honest sizing point matters too, since a reseller motivated to close a bigger deal has a structural incentive to over-provision, so a design that comes back smaller or simpler than expected is itself a positive signal worth noticing.
