## Summit Managed Infrastructure Reviews
  ### 1. Rock-Solid Uptime and Fast, Responsive Technical Support

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Subhash I. | Network Infrastructure Manager, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**What do you like best about Summit Managed Infrastructure?**

The chief benefits for us are server uptime reliability and the rapid response of the technical team. Prior to migrating, maintaining physical servers and switches and dealing with unexpected spikes in traffic was demanding quite a bit of manual intervention. Once we switched to the managed infrastructure hosting, our up-time now sits closer to 99.9%, all day every day.
We have a good incident resolution rate, for whenever there’s an issue with the network or very high traffic, the response on ticket from the tech team usually occurs within 15-20 minutes.
The server migration was performed well, their engineers helped us migrate client work into the new infrastructure without any issues at all and without affecting live business. Their web dashboards allow clear and concise monitoring of CPU usage, RAM, and band.

**What do you dislike about Summit Managed Infrastructure?**

The price of scalability is high where there may be cases such as if we were to require more bandwidth or backup storage instantly, and the way costs are added should be much clearer. The portal should have a more modern UI as it currently appears rather dated. Basic requests such as ordering a custom firewall change or port forwarding involve raising a ticket, and requires tier-2 approval which took the engineers an additional 2 to 3 hours in each case. If we could have direct self-service in the portal for basic network rules, it would greatly cut down engineers' time.

**What problems is Summit Managed Infrastructure solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Prior to outsourcing our hosting, my team and I was consuming too much of our time checking physical hardware, reboots, thermals, and cables in data centers for all our servers.

Currently:
We have absolutely no need to worry about hardware failure of our servers or manual replacement of hardware components.
Our backups schedules and DR plans are all provided by the vendor SLA.
My internal network team can spend more time focused on client delivery, security policies and internal support instead of repetitive hardware tasks.
Consistently my team is saving team time and also server downtime.

**Official Response from Jamie Pechak:**

> Subhash, thanks so much for the detailed review! Glad the migration went well and that uptime and ticket response times have been solid. Re: the portal, that's totally fair. We're releasing a new portal UI (with new capabilities) in the next several months, so I've shared your points on self-service with our team as they build it out. As far as pricing, how any costs get added as you scale should be clear and agreed upon up front. Your account rep can walk through those increments with you any time. Thank you again for writing this up!

  ### 2. Hassle-Free Infrastructure with Responsive Support

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**What do you like best about Summit Managed Infrastructure?**

Not having to worry about every little infrastructure item is the biggest plus for me. Monitoring, backups, patching and routine maintenance all get taken care of. Their support has been responsive as well if we've had an issue. Although most of the time they answer quickly.

**What do you dislike about Summit Managed Infrastructure?**

Communication can be improved when you have an issue. Sometimes we can get it resolved but I still want a little more information on what occurred and what was done. Also some support requests take longer than I would like.

**What problems is Summit Managed Infrastructure solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Really it allows us to keep the cloud infrastructure running without stressing our internal team. We don't have to spend as much time working on maintenance and small tech issues. We can focus more on security, performance and planning. That is probably the biggest value for us.

**Official Response from Jamie Pechak:**

> Dipak, thanks for the review! We're glad day-to-day monitoring, backups, and patching are less noisy now. Re: communication, that's a fair point. While getting something fixed quickly is a priority, explaining what happened is important, too. I shared your feedback with the team and we're looking into it. More to come. Thank you again for your review!

**What do you like best about Summit Managed Infrastructure?**

Summit Managed Infrastructure provides reliable colocation services with excellent uptime, responsive support, and a knowledgeable team. Their infrastructure is stable, secure, and well-managed, making it easy to trust critical business systems in their environment.

**What do you dislike about Summit Managed Infrastructure?**

So far, I have had a positive experience and have not encountered any significant issues. There is always room for additional self-service tools and reporting options, but overall the service has been excellent.

**What problems is Summit Managed Infrastructure solving and how is that benefiting you?**

cloud spacing and management

**Official Response from Jamie Pechak:**

> Thanks so much for the review, Pradip! We're happy you're enjoying the reliability and support of your managed infrastructure.

**What do you like best about Summit Managed Infrastructure?**

I've been a client of Summit / Deft over 10 years since they were Server Central, and through the years they have always been an excellent partner. Communication, uptime, and support response time are all outstanding.

**What do you dislike about Summit Managed Infrastructure?**

I don't have any complaints. They've always delivered.

**What problems is Summit Managed Infrastructure solving and how is that benefiting you?**

We needed a colo provider for several servers and applications. Deft was easy to work with for implementation and support has been great every time we needed remote hands or config. Support in particular has been excellent.

**Official Response from Jamie Pechak:**

> Ben, thank you! Being a client since the ServerCentral days puts you in a pretty unique group, and I've been here for most of that stretch myself. Glad support and remote hands have been there every time you needed them. We like to keep our service levels consistent no matter what the company is called that year. ;) Really appreciate you taking the time to write this review! 🙏

**What do you like best about Summit Managed Infrastructure?**

I have been a colocation data center customer for over 14 years and they run a class act. Not only are they operating in some of the best data centers their staff are so helpful and friendly.

**What do you dislike about Summit Managed Infrastructure?**

Nothing at all I would not complain about a single thing. As stated earlier they are always available to assist and it's been an amazing relationship over the past 14+ years.

**What problems is Summit Managed Infrastructure solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Providing me with a redundant, secure, resilient opeartions for all of my companies infrastructure.

**Official Response from Jamie Pechak:**

> Vinit, thank you for this! A relationship that runs this long says more than any one project does. :) Glad the data centers have delivered the redundancy and resiliency your infrastructure needs, and that the team has been easy to work with along the way. Thanks for taking the time to write this!

  ### 6. a Fully service providing

**What do you like best about Summit Managed Infrastructure?**

As a network engineer, I am greatly admired Deft as it not only provides you the premises or cloud. It as well gives you a service for the entire topology and connectivity ( from the end user passing with the ISP toward the data center )

**What do you dislike about Summit Managed Infrastructure?**

I didn't face any point regarding the service I considered a dislike. My only complaint is that Daft needs to be widened and located worldwide, which will help more international companies come and contract with Daft.

**What problems is Summit Managed Infrastructure solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Daft Data centers help you not to worry at all about how you will connect your network to communicate with third parties ( ISP ) as well as not to worry regarding the redundancy and backup costs as Daft provide free

**Official Response from Jamie Pechak:**

> Fady, thank you! Good to hear the connectivity and topology side has worked well. Re: being located worldwide, we've operated internationally since the early 2000s so the reach you're describing already exists. If the regions you need weren't clear when you were evaluating, then that's totally on us to communicate better. Happy to have your account rep map out which of our locations line up with where your users are if you'd like. Either way, thank you again for writing this up!

**What do you like best about Summit Managed Infrastructure?**

Access to the racks was quick and easy (if you don't mind a bit of a walk). The datacenter was layed out logically with easy access to heavy-duty lifts and carts.

**What do you dislike about Summit Managed Infrastructure?**

There were only a couple of crashcarts available for the entire data suite, so it was ocasionally difficult to get one. Also, there was really no good place to connect a laptop when working, so the (limited) crashcarts had to do duble-duty. Parking at the data center was a significant problem.

**What problems is Summit Managed Infrastructure solving and how is that benefiting you?**

We were able to provide a DR location to our customers without purchasing our own space.

**Official Response from Jamie Pechak:**

> Thank you for the review! Glad the layout and lifts made onsite work straightforward/the DR site did what you needed for your own customers. :) Re: crash carts and a spot to plug in your laptop, understood. We have free private office space for you to use if you'd like. Just flag down a member of our team and they'll be happy to escort you there next time. As far as parking, that one is surprising! All of our facilities offer free onsite parking, so if you ran into trouble we'd love to know what happened to avoid it for next time. Happy to dig into it for you if you'd like. Appreciate you taking the time! 🙏

**What do you like best about Summit Managed Infrastructure?**

I used it on my first project for Performance Tracking, backups and simplifying infrastructure security management. It is also easy for those customers who don't have the expertise to manage it themselves. Some famous and leading examples of Managed IaaS providers include Amazon Web Services (AWS) Managed Services, Microsoft Azure Managed Services, and Google Cloud Platform (GCP) Managed Services.

**What do you dislike about Summit Managed Infrastructure?**

Nothing I get any dislike for its services. Those who don't have expertise in abstraction can use it blindly. I used it, and it is safe secure, and fastest.

**What problems is Summit Managed Infrastructure solving and how is that benefiting you?**

It provides advanced security features such as intrusion detection and firewall management. We choose it because it reduces the risk of downtime and potential business impact quality of support. It is also easy to handle and meets all customer requirements, increasing the priority and revenues in clients' minds.

**Official Response from Jamie Pechak:**

> Vivaan, thank you for the review! Glad our managed infrastructure made your first performance-tracking project easier. Appreciate you writing this up!

**What do you like best about Summit Managed Infrastructure?**

Deft Backup & Recovery is a robust offering that is highly configurable and has an outstanding user interface. Provides easy to use and powerful functionality.

**What do you dislike about Summit Managed Infrastructure?**

Deft Backup & Recovery could benefit from additional educational and training materials. However, based on user interface, this is not a deal-breaker.

**What problems is Summit Managed Infrastructure solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Deft Backup & Recovery services help us with on-premise and cloud-based requirements. The Deft team does offer fully-managed services, however, we have trialed their un-managed option.

**Official Response from Jamie Pechak:**

> Thank you for the review! Good to hear the interface and configurability have held up, particularly on the unmanaged side where you're leaning on the UI more. Re: educational and training materials, 100% fair. Documentation is an area we want to keep building on. Appreciate you taking the time to write this!
