I really like Square Gift Cards because they're super handy and flexible. You can use them at lots of different places that use Square for payments. Since they're digital, it's easy to send and get them without dealing with physical cards. You can even customize them, and it's simple to keep track of your balance and transactions. The set up is simple if you already use square. I love that there is a QR code in addition to the typical barcode on the back of them because you can use that QR code and store the giftcard on your customers account. If you dont already have user profiles in place with square it can be time consuming loading in the profiles of each customer. There is a cost to purchase each physical card in addition to the processing fees they charge per card transaction, but I cannot say how that cost compares to other companies. I liked that the gift cards were customizeable so we could have our logo on the front and it just worked the same as a gift card for any large national chain store. The gift cards themselves I felt were kind of expensive. Considering Square already gets a cut of all transactions going through the system, I felt the cost per card was a bit higher than necessary. This made us feel like we consciously needed to try to hold onto gift cards that got completely spent to reuse them with a future customer. But then the cards weren't always in the best of shape and people reasonably want the card to not be looking scratched up when they buy it.
