I love that there is a QR code in addition to the typical barcode on the back of them because you can use that QR code and store the giftcard on your customers account. That way if they forgot the card, you have it in their digital profile. Helps with the customer service aspect immensely. **What do you dislike about Square Gift Cards?** If you dont already have user profiles in place with square it can be time consuming loading in the profiles of each customer. There is a cost to purchase each physical card in addition to the processing fees they charge per card transaction, but I cannot say how that cost compares to other companies. **What problems is Square Gift Cards solving and how is that benefiting you?** Again my favorite aspect is that the giftcard can be digital or physical, and that a giftcard I have can be saved in Square on my profile so if I forget it at home or lose it, they can still view it in their system. ### 4. The gift cards were easy to load and there was an option for customers to buy digital cards online. **What do you dislike about Square Gift Cards?** The gift cards themselves I felt were kind of expensive. Considering Square already gets a cut of all transactions going through the system, I felt the cost per card was a bit higher than necessary. This made us feel like we consciously needed to try to hold onto gift cards that got completely spent to reuse them with a future customer. But then the cards weren't always in the best of shape and people reasonably want the card to not be looking scratched up when they buy it. We also had to implement higher minimum purchase amounts for the gift cards because of the cost to us. **What problems is Square Gift Cards solving and how is that benefiting you?** Square Gift Cards helped solve the problem of getting rid of paper gift certificates, which were hard to track, hard to use within the Square register system, and though we didn't have problems with forgery, they would be hard to keep secure. The switch to this program made purchasing and using gift cards much easier for customers and looked a lot nicer. We are able to keep better financial records as a result of using this system. ### 5. We are living in a world where carrying cash is no longer the normal. Using SGC is the best way to provide debit and credit card users with a way to purchase your goods or service. **What do you dislike about Square Gift Cards?** Overall I haven't had too many user issues with SGC. I find that in areas with no cell service tend to make the application lag, but I have not had an issue with it not working. I suggest automatic payments, so that you do not encounter an issue in which someone goes to pay, but your SGC account is no longer valid. **Recommendations to others considering Square Gift Cards:** Take a look realistically at how many sales you may be loosing due to lack of pay-ability. **What problems is Square Gift Cards solving and how is that benefiting you?** A lot of people tend to only have their debit or credit cards these days.
