Stay away from Dolphin Imaging **Rating:** 0.5/5.0 stars **Reviewed by:** Verified User in Health, Wellness and Fitness | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.) **Reviewed Date:** January 20, 2023 **What do you like best about Dolphin Imaging?** It functions as a storage and viewer for patient images/x-rays but there are much better options out there. See my additional comments. **What do you dislike about Dolphin Imaging?** We purchased Dolphin Imaging at our practice and have been using it for over 10 years. As a warning, this company will nickel and dime (or rather hundreds and thousands) you at every opportunity. Most recently, our software completely stopped functioning and we learned that they put a "cap" on the number of patients we can add to their program without paying them thousands more to "increase the limit". This is after paying around $10k for the program to begin with... Essentially blackmailing the users into paying more money just to use the software that they already paid for. On top of that, in order to get any sort of assistance whatsoever, they require a recurring support fee. I.e. there is no option to pay for help with a single issue. Also, even what would seem to be the most basic of functions for the software costs extra. I would not recommend getting sucked into the Dolphin black hole. As an aside, our management software (Not Dolphin's) has an imaging gallery included that functions exactly how it should with no extra fees. I wish we had just used the incorporated imaging portion of our management software instead of Dolphin to begin with. :( **What problems is Dolphin Imaging solving and how is that benefiting you?** See my other notes. ### 2. Good integration of radiographs, including CBCT. Extensive options for reviewing CBCT, including 3D reconstructions. Side by side comparison is an excellent tool. **What do you dislike about Dolphin Imaging?** The Capture/Scan and editing functions are often difficult to navigate. The layouts are difficult to create, and often change the photo sizes based on how you're looking at them. For example, if you crop in the "Everything" layout, it may look different in a user-created layout. **Recommendations to others considering Dolphin Imaging:** A high quality image management system with some room for ease-of-use improvement. **What problems is Dolphin Imaging solving and how is that benefiting you?** We are using it for clinical treatment planning. It has the benefit of keeping easy-to-navigate serial records, as well as detailed and comprehensive reviews of 2D and 3D radiographs. It is well organized. ### 3. What is really a pain is as you place the landmark points, the tracing of the different curves of the face is so inaccurate. so much time is wasted adjusting the gray points of the soft tissue and bone structures... if that could be more accurate you'd save people at least 50% of their time completing ceph tracings. **Recommendations to others considering Dolphin Imaging:** familiarize yourself with all of the features provided in dolphin ceph tracing. contacting dolphin support is very helpful when you're stuck. **What problems is Dolphin Imaging solving and how is that benefiting you?** using dolphin, we don't have to complete ceph tracings and measurements by hand or on transparency pages. ### 9.
