Shogun is great for creating quick and easy landing pages for websites. I've been utilizing it for a few years but the stars of the show are truly the customer service team. I wish I had been reaching out to them more to help me when I couldn't figure how to best represent my vision with the Shogun app. James and Alex were truly helpful, easy to communicate with, and efficient. Sometimes, the built preview of the pages are quite what it looks like live, though this could be my inexperience as a self taught graphic designer. Snippets and store sync is possible and the ability to only sync snippets,page,template depending on your needs. Sections and elements are fully customizable and you can even add raw HTML and Javascript if needed as well as support for custom classes.

Its hard to grab elements sometimes if they are stacked without spacing.

Overall it is intuitive and easy to use especially with the addition of "Show Drop zones" toggle and Layout view.

With the addition of features on shogun the backend feels slow

and sometimes you need to clear cache or relogin to refresh shogun tokens especially when you switch from store to store.

Price - Shogun might be too much for some businesses especially if you are using the sync feature since you need to be on the highest plan per store to use it.

I would also love if we can have a features toggle on shogun itself se we can

declutter the UI if we are not using them (ex. A/B testing) and potentially

Several months ago I worked with a developer briefly to update my website. He reccommeded Shogun and used the platform to create a more robust version of my site. Because I only contracted him for a short period of time, I've been updating the sections he created here and there when necessary. It's been going fine until I royally messed something up and completly deleted a very important "shogun section." I reached out in panic to support and they came through in a big way. Support went above and beyond to restore the section I accidentily deleted and gave me instructions on how to update and publish the sections in the future (teach a man to fish approch...). I am so incredibly grateful for the support team and for them going the extra mile to save a small business owner who is very unfamilar with code or building a website. I'm a fan for life! Sometimes I get a little frusterated with the functionality when trying to build or edit a section. It's like I know what I want it to look like but have a hard time finding the features that will ultimatly make it look like how I want. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

I don't like how when trying to edit mobile view, the edits also change on desktop view. If this is possible please let me know as I find it frustrating. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

Shogun is the only real option for scheduling homepage updates in BigCommerce, but it works well. The testing features have gotten better and better and they are constantly making improvements such as segmenting and personalization. We now use personalization logic to easily schedule multiple sales in advance which was not possible before. Customer Service is helpful and implementation was fairly easy. The interface isn't the easiest to use if you have custom elements. Sometimes complex manual styling is necessary for creating mobile-optimized. There are some limitations, such as scheduling top banners, product badges, etc. It would be nice to schedule all promotional elements in one place, but that's more of a BigCommerce flaw. I have used Shogun now for a little while across a number of platforms; and 1 think that makes me keeping coming back is the helpful nature of the customer support but also how easy the software is to use. We have created landing pages, blogs and we are currently re-designing our homepage using Shogun due to its easy to use drag and drop features that almost anyone can use. Being able to have a wireframe from our designer and implement it to almost exactly what they are after with little to no code has streamlined the way we are able to quickly pivot our sites exactly when we need to. The 1 thing that I have not liked is just some of the basic things like sometimes the page may render odd on the front end and I've had to contact customer service to get a code snippet at times to fix some issues for landing pages; but honestly their customer service is also what makes it so god with fast and hassle free responses. Shogun is a really amazing tool for building pages, with lots of useful features that make it easy to design across multiple pages. Snippets is my favourite feature, where you can save whole blocks and paste them in other areas & pages. Overall really user friendly, and love the drag & drop functionality. The support team are amazing - they will screen record (in real time) solutions to your problems which is super efficient and helpful when trying to troubleshoot. Would really reccommend! The only downside I would flag is sometimes the spacing & formatting of blocks across multiple screens/devices can be tricky to navigate, but once you get the hang of it it's pretty straightforward. The product is fantastic and lets your shopify store be so much more flexable. There are many features and support is there for you. I had placed a ticket and it was answered within 30 minutes directly answering my question in great detail to the point I thought it was solved. But I had a weird interaction because of my own issue. The help centre - easy to follow and understand if unsure on how to approach an issue. Fast responses from the customer support team if I have any questions.
