# What do hourly teams do when the Gusto clock-in page is slow to load at shift start?

Been reading about how the Gusto clock-in page behaves at shift changeover, when several people hit it within the same couple of minutes. From the reviews, that window is where load speed comes up, and outside it the time tracking area is described as behaving normally. Outside that window the time tracking area behaves normally, which is why this reads as a peak-load issue rather than a general performance one.

What makes it worth using is unusual among a few other options in the Time & Attendance category. Hours captured here land directly in payroll with no export or reconciliation, so the number an employee sees on the clock is the number they get paid. For hourly businesses that previously moved timesheets between two systems, that alone removes most disputes.

Where I'd value experience:

Whether the mobile app is faster than the browser at peak

Whether staggering clock-in by a couple of minutes makes a real difference

What your process is for a punch that did not register because of a slow load

The last one matters most, since it is the point where a performance issue turns into a pay issue. A missed punch is a correction later, and corrections at approval are where the time goes.

For teams running shifts, how do you handle changeover, and has anything actually solved it?

Having time tracking and payroll in one place is the bigger win for me. It removes the reconciliation step, so a slow clock-in is easier to deal with than fixing mismatched hours later.
