Love how they charge for everything - including even a basic training manual on how to use the interface. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
1. Full of coupon scam sites who do no work, except to use your brand name in order to intercept branded search traffic.
2. Possibly 1% legitimate sites with some traffic. The 99% are there just to waste costly time in monitoring their scam activities.
3. Terribly expensive with upsells for merchants around every corner.
Giving performance marketing a very bad reputation, that is for sure.
Struggling to get a refund from Shareasale - it is just money down the drain.
The Shareasale CEO should really consider ways to give legitimate value to new merchants. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
Setup was fairly easy if you are familiar with some technical aspects and understand a little bit of legal terminology for the affiliate program contracts. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
Lots to dislike. I was skeptical due to the high cost to start the program at $600, but thought I was paying a premium for best in class. Upon getting everything setup, I was told they had a huge list of affiliates that would be interested in my product, but all I ever got was a huge list of off-shore coupon sites applying to become affiliates. They will list coupons for my store, but not actively advertise my products. Coupon sites are the scourge of internet sales - stay away from them at all costs! It's probably the most affordable affiliate program to set up, and they seem to have a pretty good network of affiliates. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
Tracking wasn't very clear. We ran a CPL program, and we got billed twice every time lead came in, which bugged the good affiliates and made it hard to be a good partner. It also took a lot of extra attention. Also, their customer support was fairly prompt, but not very helpful. Very terse, and always directing you to poor help center articles. It's really easy to launch an affiliate program with SAS because there are no contracts, so a brand can test the waters. Most larger affiliates are on this platform as well. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
The reporting tools are limited to really in diving deep into the customer journey and extracting insights. There are also limitations on setting up different attribution models - everything is based on last click and rev.share. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
The upside to ShareASale (SAS, from this point forward) is that the network of affilaites and merchants is already very established- which is great. The benefits inherited from this vast network are great, yes- but I do feel there could be some polishing to the portal. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
The portal interface is so outdated. The ability to retain reporting is very arbitrary, and there isn't a great way to consider different data sets. Not to mention, when checking through transactions- you should be able to filter out the ones you've already voided. Only leaving those awaiting their lock date/approval. I personally love all the features that Shareasale gives to my self. Recently they have redesigned their interface. That made ShareASale more awesome. If I mentioned the real pros that I am enjoying with Shareasale, they have internally best advertisers and their rates are very good. Shareasale has an awesome reporting dashboard. We can use Payoneer to get paid. Applying advertisers are just a few clicks and generating affiliate links are easy. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
I am more satisfy if Shareasale can reduce their Payoneer payout to $20. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
Everything is at least in one place and you can track everything from one place. It’s easy to add new links and track performance by affiliate. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
The UI still looks as though it was built in the 90s so it can be challenging to navigate. The recruitment tool is also challenging to use. There should be a better way to find new affiliates. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
Their updated design and custom link generator is greatly improved and makes it faster and easier to generate custom links to the store product page with your affiliate ID. The reporting is very good for showing the clicks and sales from brands. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
In most cases you can only see what the referring page was that the purchase came from but you don't actually know what product was purchased on the store site you are affiliate linking to, this makes it hard to know when you are using social media share links for affiliate selling products since you don't know refer page to know which products you sold. You know all link clicks and sales, but not which specific product sold with most store cases. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
It's fairly easy to join the program as a newbie who have zero to very limited experience working with affiliate programs. However, a little over basic setup will require to read ShareASale blog and research what to right in program rules. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
Their database is full of coupon sites that have nothing in common to do with bringing actual traffic to your store. We learned hard way that coupon sites, if you want to work with them at all, have to be limited to minimum percentage. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
Partnership options available on ShareASale feel limited, but it is difficult to tell because the website is archaic. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
The entire navigational experience is a deterrent from using ShareASale unless I am desperate to affiliate myself with a client. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
What I like best about Share a Sale is that it is beginner friendly. You can promote a lot on there rather than on some other sites I've come across. Unless you have tons of experience. But if you don't and you're looking to start promoting something. Share A Sale I would say is the place to start. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
Sometimes I tend to dislike what is available. It has a vast amount of products just sometimes isn't what I'm looking to promote in particular. Also, sometimes payment can be on the lower end. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
I like the ease for introductory publishers -- Share a sale makes it easy to get started! Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
Share a Sale is not as user friendly as I would like. You have to search around to get links and performance. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
I like the transaction reporting and being able to customize the commission amounts. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
Bulk approval process. You either approve all at the same commission or you have to edit one at a time. Seems to take a while this way... Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
I love how easy ShareASale is to use, from setting up to getting connected with potential merchants and customize how you choose to display products or ads. You can also select what type of merchant you want to be associated with which would fit your personal site or blog the best. The platform is also very easy to use when communicating with merchants as well as seeing your performance. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
The only downfall about the platform is the dashboard is a bit outdated and wish it was more tablet friendly. I am always on the go and don't always have a laptop handy so an app version for the platform would be better. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
