It gives complete visibility, ensures compliance, reduces cost, and improves asset utilization through life cycle tracking. CMDB integrations help with better visibility of configuration items and their dependencies, aiding in impact analysis, improving decision making, and reducing downtime. We switched from manual tools to ServiceNow for centralized management and better visibility. Despite the setup being a bit complex initially, once configured, it became a significant advantage. What problems is ServiceNow IT Asset Management solving and how is that benefiting you? ServiceNow IT Asset Management mainly solves the problem of not having clear visibility of assets. Earlier, it was difficult to track who had which laptop, what software was installed, or when assets needed renewal. A lot of things were managed manually, which often led to errors or missing information. With this tool, everything is tracked in one place. It helps in knowing the full lifecycle of an asset—from purchase to disposal. This has made it much easier to manage inventory, avoid duplication, and keep things organized. It also helps with compliance and audits. Since all the data is properly maintained, it's easier to pull reports when needed instead of scrambling for information at the last minute. For me, the biggest benefit is saving time and reducing confusion; I don't have to follow up with multiple people to get asset details, and decisions like replacements or renewals are much easier because the data is already available.
