## About Securence
Securence is a managed spam service offering anti-spam and anti-virus filtering technologies.

## Securence Reviews
  ### 1. Pretty Standard Email Filtering

**Rating:** 2.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Sean H. | IT Manager, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** April 16, 2020

**What do you like best about Securence?**

There isn't much to configure or maintain with Securence once you get it integrated into your environment. It does a good job of alerting users to blocked or quarantined emails. I particularly enjoyed its ability to cache emails if the connection to our on-prem exchange server went down. Inspecting messages at the edge in their mail log is also quite easy to do, far better than jumping through the hoops required in O365.

**What do you dislike about Securence?**

It seems like their filtering technology is aging pretty severely. After moving to O365 from Exchange 2010 I feels like we have a mismatched filtering solution now. I'd love to see better integration with the email clients themselves and maybe an API to help automate the control of company wide filtering rules. It really feels like a product stuck in 2010.

**Recommendations to others considering Securence:**

If you're looking for a basic email filtering solution to setup for a mail service that doesn't already come with a modern solution Securence is excellent. But I really feel that their technology is falling behind and leaving us exposed to an increasingly complex threat landscape. For instance, CEO Fraud filtering is extremely limited, the only option you get to control this type of spam is whitelisting "from" addresses which create a ton of false positives for dynamically generated addresses used in cloud applications.

**What problems is Securence solving and how is that benefiting you?**

We use Securence as our primary spam and email malware filter.

  ### 2. Fantastic gateway for a great price

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Hospital & Health Care | Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** December 21, 2021

**What do you like best about Securence?**

The basic functionality of an email gateway is all there, and it's relatively easy to use. The price that this solution comes in at is very reasonable, especially for it's capabilities.

**What do you dislike about Securence?**

The UI is very basic and not intuitive. When trying to learn the platform, the documentation is there for the most part; however, it's not easy to understand and friendly to newer administrators.

**What problems is Securence solving and how is that benefiting you?**

It serves as the first point of defense for incoming email traffic by identifying phishing, spam, CEO fraud, and other forms of malicious communication trying to make its way into our environment.

  ### 3. Full featured email filtering

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Computer & Network Security | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** February 01, 2019

**What do you like best about Securence?**

Easy to access, filter and read mail logs, effective spam and malware filtering and business continuity features all make Securence a great product. Many configurable options make it easy to customize. CEO Fraud Protection has been working wonders to stop phishing emails, as well.

**What do you dislike about Securence?**

The email encryption does work well but it relies on an Outlook plugin that seems to break easily. For what its worth, I've never found any Outlook plugin that does work reliably. Encrypted emails can also be sent from the web interface but this is probably too much to ask for your average corporate email user.

**Recommendations to others considering Securence:**

As with any mail filtering product, there is no guarantee that 100% of spam and phishing emails will be stopped. The service needs to be paired with user training and correctly configured SPF, DMARC and DKIM DNS records.

**What problems is Securence solving and how is that benefiting you?**

The mail logs make it easy to provide proof to external mail admins that their email never reached us. Business continuity for our on-premise Exchange customers is a must-have.
