A 3-tiered solution to IT’s toughest challenges, the Sassafras KeyServer Platform is the basis for Sassafras AllSight, LabSight, and KeySight. **What do you like best about Sassafras AllSight?**

The Sassafrass Support Team is by far the best support group I've ever worked with in over 40 years of IT support.  Every single question has been answered both expertly and professionally.  Given the complexity of this product's work, there are many different options and ways of doing things.  The Sassafrass Support team is always willing to help folks use their AllSight product in the way that is best for their customer's needs.  

The AllSight product is a comprehensive inventory management tool. While some customers may have initially purchased AllSight for its ability to inventory and control software assets, AllSight has also become a valuable tool in looking at hardware assets.  

Allsight's peak usage and login reports allow us to know where we need to deploy more hardware to meet our communities needs and where we can remove hardware assets that aren't being used. We also use the easy-to-create "Maps" to let our community know where to find the hardware and software resources they need to get their work done.  And, AllSight's integration with remote access tools allows us to readily provide remote access to several computing resources via a web browser.

**What do you dislike about Sassafras AllSight?**

It's honestly hard to think of a negative.

**What problems is Sassafras AllSight solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Sassafrass AllSight allows us to look at the actual usage of software and computer hardware assets we have deployed at our college to ensure that we have the accurate numbers and types of resources deployed where they are needed.

**What do you like best about Sassafras AllSight?**

The best tools from Sassafras are definitely within KeyReporter, and support staff are always available and listening to feedback to improve their product. This is demonstrated in the upgrade to 7.9 with KeyConfigure capabilities migrating into KeyReporter for more straightforward functionality and usage  (more loaner checkout admin tools, improved reporting for computer groups/labs, filters filters filters).

Along with being impressed by the product itself (which has many capabilities beyond what we use every day), I think an extraordinary mention to the support staff is warranted. Whenever someone asks me what good support looks like (or whenever I want to tell people what good support looks like), I point to Sassafras support. Sometimes my emails are answered in minutes (my experience!), but I know I'll have a detailed, helpful response by COB (usually a lot sooner). I can't think of another company with that kind of speed or quality of support.

**What do you dislike about Sassafras AllSight?**

I'm not a massive fan of using KeyConfigure (mainly because we use quite a few systems and learning KeyConfigure's layout and components is... sometimes time-consuming), but I think I'm not alone there. Sassafras is listening, hence the upgrades to KeyReporter.

**What problems is Sassafras AllSight solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Sassafras AllSight is bridging the gap between onsite support and remote staff, allowing us to see and utilize essential data for managing our environment in one place and coordinate efforts appropriately.

**What do you like best about Sassafras AllSight?**

We have been using Sassafras for many years but have ramped up our usage since the pandemic. The tool has allowed us to fully migrate our hardware inventory out of Sharepoint/Spreadsheets and into a tool that allows for automation and consistency. The support team members are great, responsive and always ready to help. Sassafras is the only company I look forward to communicating with when I need help with something.

**What do you dislike about Sassafras AllSight?**

I would say that the product isn't SaaS-based, but today during a Sassafras webinar, I learned that they are beginning to offer SaaS environments. I'm super excited about this!

**What problems is Sassafras AllSight solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Sassafras helps our team track hardware and software usage. The new hardware asset features allow us to track a device throughout its lifecycle. The software policies are a great way to stay compliant and save money if you are not fully utilizing license agreements.

Sassafras Allsight is an excellent hardware/software/asset management system, my favorite thing about it is the constant innovation/expansion of features.

I really don't have anything negative to say about the product, any issues we've had with it were due to our user errors.

Allsight allows us to keep tabs on our hardware and software usage, as well as track purchases/lifecycles.

**What do you like best about Sassafras AllSight?**

Sassafras is the Cadillac of an ITAM - it provides an incredible amount of information that no other product rivals. While there is a learning curve to get the most robust data, in the end, you have more data than you could ever ask for. Best of all, it is stored on a locally hosted server, so integrations with other tools is easy. And their support is the best I have ever worked with across dozens of vendors. No vendor comes close to being as knowledgeable and responsive.

**What do you dislike about Sassafras AllSight?**

It requires a decent amount of training to use all of the features. It takes time to integrate with systems (purchasing, etc.). But, with patience, you end up with a great product. Their training is amazing though, and they have the best documentation in the business.

**What problems is Sassafras AllSight solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Sassafras gives us both hardware and software inventory and comprehensive data on software usage. This usage data is by endpoint and software package - down to minor versions should you have many. This product quickly helps you understand if you are under or over-provisioned for licenses. Integrations with Intune and Amazon App Stream, as well as Jamf, make this even better for the above.

**What do you like best about Sassafras AllSight?**

We like how flexible the product is in it's reporting and being able to download the data to present in other mediums is also very helpful. The product normalisation is really good. Using Allsight has allowed us to embark on a transformation program in our student computer labs, as we have identified using the tooling labs that are under utilized, resulting in a 10% reduction in the fleet size, and the associated annual savings.

**What do you dislike about Sassafras AllSight?**

It lacks SaaS capabilities which as more products go to SaaS may become more of an issue.

**What problems is Sassafras AllSight solving and how is that benefiting you?**

This allows us to track software renewals and forecast accurately spending. As well as providing the software and hardware asset utilisation data to allow us to make factual decisions about our renewals, and those of the wider business.

Good financial value in comparison to its main competitor. Feature-rich and flexible solution. Excellent ongoing support and assistance provided by the vendor. The agent on PCs is lightweight with no discernable performance impact.

**What do you dislike about Sassafras AllSight?**

The admin tools are a little complex and "clunky". For example, admin features are split between a windows app and a web interface.

**What problems is Sassafras AllSight solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Providing critical usage statistics for decision-making around hardware/software/room requirements. Provides students with a valuable map of available PCs. Important for IT support to monitor/report PC fleet configuration and status (including proactive identification of dead PCs that require repair).

**What do you like best about Sassafras AllSight?**

There isn't one thing about this software I can point to and say that's why we use it. The whole package is magic. It does what we need and we've only scratched the surface of it.

**What do you dislike about Sassafras AllSight?**

I need to spend more time with the software part of it. That's where our hang-ups come from. I think we have the hardware protion down but we need to focus more on software products.

**What problems is Sassafras AllSight solving and how is that benefiting you?**

We couldn't get our act together with inventory. We used everything from apps to spreadsheets and just couldn't get a handle on it. Sassafras changed that. Now our help desk is using it and pulling reports from it. Leases go back on time now.

**What do you like best about Sassafras AllSight?**

The most helpful thing about AllSighThe most helpful thing about AllSight is the ease with which we can accomplish a variety of tasks, from hardware/software inventory management, setting up a checkout module, mapping areas, exporting data, running reports, etc...  And of course the customer service.  The Sassafras team has been terrific in having one on one meetings with us to teach the functionality, answer all questions, troubleshoot possible bugs and provide requested functionality.

**What do you dislike about Sassafras AllSight?**

For downsides, I guess I would say that based on what one is trying to do, they must switch between the web interface and Key Configure (i.e. some of the functions, settings and report styles will need to be run in one interface over the other).  That said, the organization seems to take customers' input to heart and updates the software often.

**Recommendations to others considering Sassafras AllSight:**

If you have software/hardware management needs, the software and customer service are second to none.  I highly recommend giving it a try.

**What problems is Sassafras AllSight solving and how is that benefiting you?**

We decided that one of our top priorities was to establish a solid hardware inventory management system.  So thus far our focus has primarily centered around importing all of the computers/peripheral devices, along with their asset IDs, locations, etc...  This has already been a great help in determining when warranties will be expiring to assist with our computer refresh protocol.  Moreover, we plan to use the software for laptop checkouts, managing software licenses, and helping students see which computers are available in common areas.

The support staff here are phenomenal. Any time I've need help, with something minor or something big, they've been quick, professional and friendly.

**What do you dislike about Sassafras AllSight?**

Nothing. Seriously, we have no problems with the product or support.

**What problems is Sassafras AllSight solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Some software vendors provide us with a KeyServer license file for concurrent software use, we have been able to create policies for doing this ourselves, and this gives us excellent data for software usage on College-owned computers even if we are not managing licenses with the KeyServer.

We have used this product for some time now at a limited capacity but have recently started using it more for various other features such as inventory, loaner tracking, mapping, etc.

The ability to run reports and get the information regarding usage and maps. It also has the capability to import custom registry settings.

There has been some bugs in older versions but they are now fixed in 7.9.

We use Sassafras to track software usage across our institution and manage software licenses with limited seats. We've expanded to use it track hardware and generate reports about general usage.

**What do you dislike about Sassafras AllSight?**

There is a bit of a learning curve if you're trying to set this up on your own. Thankfully, support is very available and willing to assist.

It helps us track and monitor software usage and identify when software is being used against our policy.

**What do you like best about Sassafras AllSight?**

The more you use the product the more you realize how extremely versatile it is. For example, I love the flexibility of their reports, but I also like that I can export the report data and set up my own pivot tables, etc.  Also, the high quality of their online resources and direct support is rare. Solid support is always money well spent to encourage and broaden use of a product.

**What do you dislike about Sassafras AllSight?**

I really would like an interface that worked better as a Software Catalog for our campus and suspect that it is a rough fit for other higher ed institutions as well. I think what they currently have is getting there but it doesn't quite work well for us yet.

**What problems is Sassafras AllSight solving and how is that benefiting you?**

As a higher ed institution we often get requests to deploy specialty software for different classes.  In the past it has been difficult to determine which software has fallen into disuse and can be removed.  AllSight reports makes this easy by showing detailed, "over time", usage information.

Simple and seamless implementation which included on-going support from Sassafras. Immediate availability of reporting that provided a valuable picture of our hardware and software positions.  Built-in flexability that catered to our environment making it easy to get specific information easier.

No dislikes. I have found the software to be easy to utilize and gain strides towards Software Asset Management.

The tool has the ability to audit what software is being used as well as checkout software that has only certain licenses

**What do you dislike about Sassafras AllSight?**

The tool can be beneficial for large organizations that have large catalogs of software to checkout, however with most software tools moving to the cloud, the need for such a software is not really there.

This software allows for license control and audit of what needs your organization has.

**What do you like best about Sassafras AllSight?**

I love the reporting.  It helps me evaluate what computers are being used, how they are being used and what changes I should make.  We are leverage the concurrent licensing features.

The interface has a dated feel, but it is a minor complaint.  

**What problems is Sassafras AllSight solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Keyserver allows us to deploy computers all over our campus and we get analytics on how they are used.  It allows us to continually evaluate where we can place computers for better usage.  It also allows us to leverage concurrent licensing of applications, so we can place software on all of our computers and manage our licensing.

The user interface is outdated and could be updated to a more modern interface.

**Recommendations to others considering Sassafras AllSight:**

The product does application licensing and usage great but it looks outdated. I haven't compared it to other products but this product works great.

**What problems is Sassafras AllSight solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Application licensing and usage which are the main benefits but the clients also collect a lot of various information about the client that provides additional value.
