FreshAddress’s SafeToSend service provides comprehensive protection against costly problematic addresses. The payoff is substantial: 100% guaranteed safe, deliverable email addresses that drive higher response rates, conversions, and profits. The differences between FreshAddress’s SafeToSend® email hygiene, correction, and validation service and the email validation services offered by the other providers in our industry are like night and day. Other email hygiene providers primarily perform an email ping (or SMTP check) to try to determine if an email address is bouncing or deliverable. Email pinging is not a perfect science and the process provides highly inaccurate results for Verizon Media, formerly known as Oath (Yahoo, AOL, and Verizon), accept-all domains, and some other ISPs that have technologies in place to block email pingers. FreshAddress’s SafeToSend service, on the other hand, is comprised of three components: Hygiene, Correction, and Validation as follows: Hygiene: Flag deliverable but problematic email addresses, including spamtraps, honeypots, heavy spam complainers, role accounts (e.g. abuse@, sales@, tech@, etc.), FCC’s Wireless Domain Blocks, the DMA’s “Do Not Email” suppressions, and other email addresses, all of which will “ping” as deliverable but will likely get your email campaigns blocked or blocklisted. No other provider has the expertise, experience, technology, or knowledgebase to identify these deliverable but toxic email addresses. Correction (i.e. “spell-check for email addresses”): Identify and correct syntax, typo, formatting, misspelling, and other top level domain errors. Having analyzed billions of email address registrations, FreshAddress’s “spell-check for email” correction functionality can correct the vast majority of email address errors made, thereby allowing you to reconnect with a customer/prospect you would have otherwise lost. FreshAddress’s patented “spell-check” technology is included in our original Email Change of Address patent, which was issued in 2003. FreshAddress has analyzed over 10 billion email address registrations and can identify and correct the vast majority of inadvertent hygiene errors made upon opt-in. No other provider can correct email hygiene errors anything more than the most basic hygiene errors. Validation: Validate the deliverability of all email addresses that survive the first two screens, including validating the deliverability of our corrections. FreshAddress’s validation component first relies on its ESP Reporting Network, which contains email-specific information including delivered, bounced, open, click-through, opt-out, and spam complaints on over 10 billion deployments. In addition, it performs real-time SMTP checks (i.e. the “ping” that all other companies basically do), other proprietary technology and processes to check the validity of an email address, and archives its real-time SMTP checks to double-check its real-time data for accuracy and consistency. We had this incorporated into each user account at my previous employer and it helped correct SO many email typos while also protecting us by looking through the email before sending to make sure we arent coming across too... well, cross. **What do you dislike about SafeToSend?** There have been quite a few learning steps while using the features from this specific tool and the MOST prominent has been the "fact" checking of emails and getting false negatives. It doesnt occur terribly often but it does present itself at the most inopportune moments, sometimes when the email address has already been verified and used previously. **What problems is SafeToSend solving and how is that benefiting you?** We are seeing a more consistent baseline when it comes to positive wording in our emails thanks to SafeToSend. It's helping to make sure we are being friendly while also making sure we are sending these emails to the correct corrospondants. ### 3. You get different results like "valid" or "safe to send". It also tells you when it's a role account, duplicate, etc. **What do you dislike about SafeToSend?** The format for sending the files might not be the most user friendly. I feel like visually it could improve.
