## About rsyslog
rsyslog is an open-source, high-performance event processing and log pipeline engine for Linux and Unix. It collects data from diverse sources, transforms and enriches events, and routes them reliably to SIEM, analytics, observability, database, file, and cloud platforms. Originally best known as a syslog solution, rsyslog today is widely used to build scalable event and log pipelines that require flexible routing, deep processing, and strong delivery guarantees. It remains a proven choice for log processing workloads ranging from small deployments to very large environments at scale. Organizations use rsyslog to centralize logs, normalize and enrich events, forward data to modern observability and security stacks, and build reliable ingestion layers with precise control over routing and delivery. Professional support, consulting, training, and related commercial solutions are available from Adiscon, the long-time company behind rsyslog.
