
We leveraged Redkite's SFDC App called Redhot News to show news stories related to the account or contact right within the record in SFDC. It was a great app and allowed reps to easily gain context and relevant info on the companies and contacts they were working with day in and day out.
The beauty of this app was that it would constantly update with the most recent news VS having fields that store account/contact information.
The only issue is that it seems that Google discontinued the APIs they were leveraging for their app, so as it stands, the app is no longer functional in SFDC Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
The best part of this app was that everything was updated automatically and whatever record you were observing in SFDC, you'd have all the most recent news right there for you to leveraged VS reading SFDC fields that would only reflect what the last person to edit the record had provided.
