Recur is an Association Management System (AMS) built to centralize everyday operations for member-driven organizations. Recur is designed for small to mid-size associations and similar nonprofits that want straightforward workflows, a self-service member portal, and reporting that helps staff understand engagement and revenue at a glance. The product emphasizes clarity over complexity: common tasks—like processing renewals, sending reminders, or publishing an event—follow consistent steps, with automation available where it saves time. Membership &amp; dues management: Maintain a single member record with custom fields, tiers, pricing rules, grace periods, and recurring billing. Generate invoices/receipts, track payments, and manage organizational or individual memberships. Events &amp; education: Create events with ticket types, capacities, discount codes, and waitlists. Collect attendee data via forms, track check-ins, and (optionally) record completions or continuing-education credits. **What do you like best about Recur?**

What we like most is the combination of outstanding customer support, a modern and customizable website, and a team that seems genuinely invested in helping our organization succeed. The platform has allowed us to create a professional website that reflects our organization's identity, showcases our programs and learning opportunities, and serves our members effectively. The reasonable cost and Recur's commitment to continually improving the platform have made our overall experience very positive.

**What do you dislike about Recur?**

Our primary frustration has been the time required to implement certain customizations and the fact that we do not yet have full control over all website content and updates. That said, Recur has been responsive and communicative throughout the process, and we understand that additional functionality is still being developed.

**What problems is Recur solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Recur is helping us create a more modern, professional, and member-focused website. The platform will give us more flexibility to promote our professional learning opportunities, events, and important announcements while reflecting our organization's unique identity.

**What do you like best about Recur?**

We’ve been using Recur to manage our membership database, dues/payments, and conference registrations, and we’re very happy with the product. Before Recur, we used a combination of Google Sheets (membership), Eventbrite (registrations), and regular email (communications) so it wasn't a streamlined process. We also evaluated other tools (e.g., Wild Apricot) but ultimately chose Recur for its integrated features and responsive team.

**What do you dislike about Recur?**

There is a learning curve because it is a new system, there are so many features that sometimes it feels overwhelming to learn them all, but the team’s support has made it manageable.

**What problems is Recur solving and how is that benefiting you?**

All-in-one platform: manage membership fees, registration fees, conference scheduling, and member communications (text + email) in one place.
Comms & engagement: run email campaigns, newsletters, texts, surveys, and even send invoices. Members can reply directly on the platform.
Automation & analytics: automatic renewal emails, engagement “scores” that show how actively members interact, and visibility into opens/views for emails and texts.
Finance & growth: bank-account linking for direct deposits; these workflows have helped us increase membership and handle big events more smoothly.
Website: I still have not used their website design features.

**What do you like best about Recur?**

Switching to Recur has been one of the best decisions our organization has made. The onboarding process was quick and painless, with excellent support every step of the way. The interface is intuitive and easy to navigate, which has saved our team countless hours compared to our prior system.

One of the biggest advantages has been the cost savings—we’re paying less than we were for our old software, but getting so much more value. Having all the essential tools in one place—website management, dues and fee collection, and member communications—has streamlined our operations and eliminated the need for multiple platforms.

Overall, Recur has simplified our processes, improved our communication with members, and delivered real savings. I highly recommend it to any association looking for a reliable, all-in-one management solution.

**What do you dislike about Recur?**

I have yet to experience downsides. Compared to the prior software we were using, Recur has been immensely superior.

**What problems is Recur solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Recur is solving the problem of having to juggle multiple platforms for different aspects of association management. Before, we had separate tools for websites, payment processing, and member communications, which was costly and inefficient. Now, everything is in one place—website management, dues and fee collection, and member messaging. This has saved us both time and money, while also making it easier for members to engage and stay informed. The all-in-one approach has streamlined our operations and allowed us to focus more on serving our community instead of managing software.

**What do you like best about Recur?**

We were looking for an affordable tool to move away from our piecemeal approach to managing our association.  Recur has been a good solution for us.  We are able to automate many tasks and chose to rebuild our website through Recur for a more seamless integration.

**What do you dislike about Recur?**

We've had some bumps and glitches from not knowing how to do a task or some aspect not working as anticipated.  When we transitioned our domain name, we hit the biggest bumps.  Upgrades have helped along the way and we're looking forward to more updates and improved ways to manage our website and organization.

**What problems is Recur solving and how is that benefiting you?**

We did not have an integrated system to handle the different aspects of our association.  Recur helps us manage membership, communication, and events.  We've been pleased with the level of customer service they have provided.

  ### 5. Great Support and Email Management, Needs Event Management Boost

**What do you like best about Recur?**

I have found Recur incredibly valuable for managing our membership and contact information efficiently. The software's ability to handle email communications has significantly reduced the problem of bounce emails due to spam, which was a major issue when using a regular email address. Recur allows me to seamlessly group members and send targeted information to specific groups or the entire membership, which is both time-saving and effective. I also appreciate the capability of running membership dues through Recur, adding another layer of convenience. The option to create and manage events and registrations through their site is another useful feature, particularly for our future needs. Recur's customer support has been exceptional, always ready to assist with any problems, and they demonstrate a willingness to modify the software to better fit our organization's needs. This level of support and the software's features greatly enhances our operational efficiency.

**What do you dislike about Recur?**

I find the event management functionality lacking in robustness. I would like it to be more user-friendly and to have the capability to store more detailed information about each session of our annual conference. Our annual conference is our largest event and we supplement recur with event management software to give us that extra functionality.

**What problems is Recur solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I use Recur to manage memberships, streamline email communication, reduce bounce rates, and organize contact information effectively.

**What do you like best about Recur?**

1- Recur is in Utah.  They have been great at  meeting with us via video conference anytime we needed help.  We are working right with the owners of the company, and they are awesome.  Super responsive.
2- The tools they have to manage our membership are pretty easy to learn.
3- The website they made for us is awesome!

**What do you dislike about Recur?**

Some aspects of their website aren't quite fully developed.  Most of those features are minor and don't impact anything, they are just cool perk features.

**What problems is Recur solving and how is that benefiting you?**

We are a volunteer board with limited time to devote to managing our membership.  Recur is easy to use.

**What do you like best about Recur?**

The ease of management.  I am not a high-tech individual.   The ability to navigate throughout the system is amazing.  The ease of integration from our old system was seamless.   I also like the versatility of the software.   I am able to do so much more (more than I was aware that existed) with Recur has allowed better accountability and communication with our members.

**What do you dislike about Recur?**

After one year, I've not come across any shortcomings.    I am anxious for the possibility of automatic reports.

**What problems is Recur solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Being able to communicate with members and sponsors has cut my time by 90%.    The ability to use the financial piece has been greatly beneficial in events, conferences, and large golf tournaments.
