## PostHog Reviews
 ### 1. Refreshingly Good Product Analytics

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Bryan M. | Product Director, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** June 27, 2025

**What do you like best about PostHog?**

All the product analytics features you need with generous free tier limits so your team can try any features without risk.

Allows product teams to see what is important and straightforward dashboard configuration makes it possible for non-technical departments to set up data they need to see.

Posthog allowed us to ditch multiple other analytics tools that were frustrating to use and didn't provide the complete package.

**What do you dislike about PostHog?**

Though it is very well designed, the breadth of features means it takes some time to get familiar with and find your way through the platform.

I would have complained about the amount of links in the sidebar, but I noticed in a recent UI refresh it is possible to set your own custom shortcuts sidebar so you only see what you need once you get the hang of it.

**What problems is PostHog solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Posthog helps us understand how features are used and being adopted in our product. It helps inform our team of what product and marketing improvements we can test.

 ### 2. Feature-Rich and Easy to Use, But Default Tables Need Editing Options

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Abhishek G. | Product Enginner, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** October 27, 2025

**What do you like best about PostHog?**

Platform is free to use for new companies or anyone who wants to try it. It's very simple to setup and works right of the shelf. It has one of the most comprehensive features and Max AI has been my go to feature now to ask any query related to user behaviour.

**What do you dislike about PostHog?**

The tables in default views are not editable - which is frustrating sometimes

**What problems is PostHog solving and how is that benefiting you?**

We have a consumer app that we use to monitor user behavior, focusing especially on retention and session replays to help us identify dark patterns.

 ### 3. Effortlessly Captures User Sessions Even on Complex Sites

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Neil H. | IT Consultant, Civil Engineering, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** November 27, 2025

**What do you like best about PostHog?**

I find PostHog very easy to use, which simplifies my tasks significantly. It captures user sessions fully and accurately, even on a complex site with canvas elements, a feature that I haven't found in other tools. I also appreciate the brand's unique and quirky persona, which adds an enjoyable dimension to my use of the platform. The initial setup of PostHog was very straightforward, which made the transition from Mouseflow smooth and stress-free. Overall, the software meets my expectations perfectly, and I'm likely to recommend PostHog highly to others.

**What do you dislike about PostHog?**

Nothing

**What problems is PostHog solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I use PostHog to fully and accurately watch user sessions on my complex site with canvas elements, which other tools couldn't do.

 ### 4. Fairly intuitive for a newbie

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Health, Wellness and Fitness | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** September 10, 2025

**What do you like best about PostHog?**

Quick to set up, glitch-free app, above average site navigation, extremely fast updates on what my website is doing and fair pricing.

**What do you dislike about PostHog?**

I was disappointed there wasn’t any easier to read dashboard. If there was a dashboard created from the user experience perspective as opposed to what’s currently in place, which is more of a technician’s perspective, I think it would be much more enjoyable to use.

My perspective is that of a business owner so I’m only using this tech out of necessity so for people like me it’d be nice if there was a friendlier interface.

For example, if you were to click on a particular aspect of a Tableau-looking dashboard, then you’d get the granular window pop-up.
That would be pretty cool.

**What problems is PostHog solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I need to assess my copywriting, how people interact with it.
I need to track my call to actions as well as which call to actions attract more attention.

Lastly, being able to know traffic sources is super vital.

 ### 5. PostHog made Monsha 5x better in weeks!

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Computer Software | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** September 10, 2025

**What do you like best about PostHog?**

PostHog just gets what startups like us require!

Monsha was struggling with understanding what the users actually facing. We tried many things - manual loggers, log forwardings, screen capture tools...but nothing made things easy.

As the CTO, I just loved how each tool kind of tells the story as a whole. What events users causes, how did they do it, how our LLM performed (thanks for this tool at the perfect time btw!), and many more.
Implementing or integrating those are super easy, we use PostHog religiously.

**What do you dislike about PostHog?**

Not 'dislike', but setting up some insights and connecting two different things felt a bit complicated.

Would love more configurations for the Session Replay tool.

**What problems is PostHog solving and how is that benefiting you?**

1. Watching user's session replays and fixing bugs quickly.
2. Auto exception capture is a life-saver as we're a small team and whole codebase is not fully covered for bug-tracking.
3. Easy cohort analysis (crucial for us)
4. Understanding when some key events are occurring and what.
5. Cheap LLM analytics.

 ### 6. I could not imagine going with anyone else than PostHog for analytics.

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Tobias J. | Software Developer, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** June 26, 2025

**What do you like best about PostHog?**

PostHog is such a comple suite of tools from everything analytics related. And it provides a bunch of other awesome things. I use it for proffesional work, and even for all of my own hobby projects. Theres just nothing that competes.
I also love the fact that its open-source as well, so its super easy to self-host if need be.

Its also a brease to set up in various environments, for example, we currently use it with a NextJS project internally and it was a brease to set set up.

**What do you dislike about PostHog?**

I dont have much negatives about PostHog, the only thing i can really think of is that its a bit hard to "delete" data / events. A simple "delete" button would do wonders, But other than that + their API being really slow at times i have no negative things to say about them.

**What problems is PostHog solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Session Replays, error event capturing and such helps me catch errors, analyse the bugs & errors users are experiencing without relying on the users sometimes incomplete bug reports. With session replays i can see everything from netowrk requests, console logs, and an actual "video" of what exactly the user is doing.

Ofc we use product analytics and what not as well, but thats not whats important to us as, as the current project is for internal use only.

 ### 7. Effortlessly Manages Analytics with Customization, Needs Mobile App

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Admin C.

**Reviewed Date:** November 03, 2025

**What do you like best about PostHog?**

I find PostHog incredibly easy to set up, which was a big relief for me as I navigated website analytics for my startup. The software's ability to handle a high volume of website data is impressive, assisting me in making well-informed decisions. Its customization options are highly beneficial, as I can adjust and tailor the analytics to fit my specific needs. The overall ease of use is fantastic and is a significant factor in my willingness to repurchase or recommend this product. I even rated my likelihood of recommending PostHog to others a ten out of ten.

**What do you dislike about PostHog?**

I dislike that PostHog does not have a mobile application.

**What problems is PostHog solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I use PostHog to sort website analytics, which helps me make better decisions for my startup.

 ### 8. Centralized User Tracking, Easy to Use

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Natalie D. | Director of Product, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** April 24, 2026

**What do you like best about PostHog?**

I find PostHog pretty easy to use.

**What do you dislike about PostHog?**

Not having comprehensive data, but that's a restriction of cookies, so not really PostHog's fault.

**What problems is PostHog solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I use PostHog for data analytics and telemetry tracking, centralizing user behavior tracking in one place.

 ### 9. Honestly, my favorite company and product in the last 5 years!

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Mohammed K. | Founder, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** September 09, 2025

**What do you like best about PostHog?**

I would not consider myself extremely technical or knowledgeable in web dev and analytics - however, when i came across Post Hog I was absolutely blown away. The ease of implementing it on to my site, the detailed documentation, the extensive features were just incredible. To top that all off, I felt like the design of the site, the styling, the colours, were just perfect. The website was so easy to use, I knew where everything was, and everyday I feel like I'm learning more and more.

The analytics were great, so many uses, possibilities, and I could create actions to track exactly what I wanted.

I raise my virtual glass and tip my virtual hat to the entire team of PostHog because you have won me over!

In summary, if you have any type of site, blog, app on the internet, use PostHog and thank me later- simple.

**What do you dislike about PostHog?**

I had trouble with the toolbar, it was easy to implement, but the inspect feature was not working. Tried to fix it by searching and using AI, but still haven't been able to. Is it a big deal? No, Why? Because the team at PostHog are playing chess. They already thought of that, and added a very easy way to do it all directly on their platform.

**What problems is PostHog solving and how is that benefiting you?**

We have a fundraising platform that connects startups and investors. We wanted a way to track investor actions and also provide startups with analytics, as well as collect and analyse our own site and usage related analytics. We had a manual collection method, that was garbage compared to PostHog. We had spent hours and hours setting up our manual collection, and still we were running into issues etc. With PostHog, no exaggeration, we were setup within 25 minutes and the data was WAY more comprehensive than what we had.

It also provides us with Session replays, which have been immense in helping us fix things during Beta- as a lot of users contact us and say the site is not working, without providing details. We can just view replay, identify what they were trying to do, and fix it.

 ### 10. You can track every type of metric

**Rating:** 3.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Akshay M. | Senior Software Engineer, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** June 22, 2025

**What do you like best about PostHog?**

Session replay is excellent. I can watch exactly where users drop off or get stuck during checkout — without guessing or relying on incomplete heatmaps.

Funnels are powerful and flexible. We’ve built flows from product page views to checkout complete, and can slice them by device, browser, or even Shopify tag logic. Seeing where mobile users drop vs desktop was eye-opening.

Device and geo-based segmentation helps us optimize UX. We found layout bugs affecting Android tablets that would have gone unnoticed in GA.

**What do you dislike about PostHog?**

Funnel analysis is powerful, but only if your event data is clean. Minor inconsistencies (like two “Add to Cart” event names) can break step tracking. GA4 or Mixpanel handle some of this messiness better by abstracting naming differences.

**What problems is PostHog solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Lack of visibility into real customer behavior : With session replays and detailed event tracking, I can see how users interact with product pages, where they hesitate, what they click, and what they miss. This lets us fix UX problems fast — without guesswork.

Understanding funnel drop-off across devices: Our checkout funnel looked fine in aggregate, but conversion on mobile was underperforming. Other tools couldn’t pinpoint the problem.
With PostHog funnels broken down by device type, I quickly identified that Android users were hitting a cart issue we didn’t catch in QA. Fixing that alone boosted mobile checkout completion by 9%.

No insight into rage clicks, dead clicks, or frustrated behavior: PostHog flags sessions with rage clicks or excessive back-and-forth, so we can prioritize fixing those areas. This improved UX and dropped support ticket volume.

 ### 11. Great Event Capture, Needs Better Dashboard Intelligence

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Carolyn Z.

**Reviewed Date:** September 06, 2025

**What do you like best about PostHog?**

I find PostHog incredibly helpful for capturing events across the entire stack, both front end and back end. This capability is crucial as we're focused on understanding our users' journeys and ensuring a great user experience. Additionally, the setup process was mostly easy, allowing us to efficiently monitor usage and performance metrics. I also enjoy the general vibe of the app, making it quite pleasant to use.

**What do you dislike about PostHog?**

I found that setting up the analytics and dashboards with PostHog was a bit annoying. While capturing events was straightforward, creating certain visualizations was not as intuitive as I expected. There were issues with the MCP with Claude Code which often led to errors in writing the SQL needed to parse events and visualize them meaningfully. This process required a lot of manual debugging, which was frustrating. Additionally, I think the dashboards could be more straightforward, potentially benefiting from prebuilt options to simplify the setup.

**What problems is PostHog solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I use PostHog to capture events across the full stack, enhancing our understanding of user journeys and performance, which is vital for improving user experiences and showcasing our app’s speed advantage.

 ### 12. An all in one platform with great UX and afforinle services

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Events Services | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** September 04, 2025

**What do you like best about PostHog?**

PostHog brings together product analytics, session recording, feature flags, and experiments in a single platform, so I don’t have to juggle multiple tools. The UX is clean, fast, and intuitive, making it easy to find insights quickly. I also really appreciate their open-source approach and transparent pricing, which makes it accessible and scalable as my project grows.

**What do you dislike about PostHog?**

The learning curve can feel a bit steep at the beginning because there are so many features to explore. Some advanced setups and integrations require technical knowledge, which may not be ideal for non-technical users. Also, while the documentation is extensive, it could sometimes be more beginner-friendly with practical examples.

**What problems is PostHog solving and how is that benefiting you?**

PostHog helps me centralize product analytics without needing multiple third-party tools. It gives me clear insights into user behavior, funnels, and retention, which helps me make data-driven decisions and improve product features faster. Having session recordings and feature flags in the same platform saves time and simplifies my workflow.

 ### 13. Simplifies Analytics with Easy Deployment

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Pavel S. | Owner, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** September 03, 2025

**What do you like best about PostHog?**

I appreciate the simplicity of launching and implementing PostHog, which combines multiple functions into one platform. This all-in-one capability eliminates the need for various tools, particularly beneficial for new projects. PostHog effectively solves problems related to user behavior understanding and product issue identification, assisting me in addressing them efficiently.

**What do you dislike about PostHog?**

I was a little lost at the beginning trying to understand which events could be, should be, or are recommended to track, indicating there could be more clarity in initial guidance. There's room for improvement in the instructions for implementation. Having more detailed, native instructions, possibly based on prototype and user flow, would be beneficial. Recommendations on which triggers and events to implement would be ideal. This way, I could hand the document to developers and have everything implemented very quickly.

**What problems is PostHog solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I find PostHog solves the problem of understanding user behavior and insights, highlighting product issues to address, and combines multiple analytics and recording tools into one platform.

 ### 14. Powerful, open-source analytics platform for product-led teams

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Information Technology and Services | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** June 18, 2025

**What do you like best about PostHog?**

PostHog offers full product analytics, session recording, feature flags, A/B testing, and user behavior tracking—all in one place. I especially appreciate its self-hosting flexibility and privacy-friendly approach. It’s a dream for any startup or growth team looking to own their data stack without relying on third-party clouds. The plugin-based architecture and event tracking are highly customizable and intuitive

**What do you dislike about PostHog?**

The UI can sometimes feel a bit cluttered when navigating between funnels, trends, and recordings. Also, the learning curve for advanced event-based analytics might be slightly steep for non-technical users. Some features like cohort analysis or dashboards could use smoother UX polish.

**What problems is PostHog solving and how is that benefiting you?**

PostHog helps us consolidate our product analytics and feature experimentation workflows into a single platform, saving significant engineering time. We're able to analyze user behavior, ship feature flags with confidence, and run simple A/B tests, all without needing third-party tools or giving up data control. It’s especially valuable as we grow our SaaS product and want clear insights while keeping infrastructure self-hosted and privacy-compliant.

 ### 15. Clear Interface, Powerful Tool at Zero Cost

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Maël M.

**Reviewed Date:** December 26, 2025

**What do you like best about PostHog?**

I use PostHog to monitor views on my site, and I particularly like the interface which is very clear and simple to use. It really meets my expectations. Additionally, the cost is free for my use, which is really great. The initial installation of PostHog was very simple thanks to clear documentation.

**What do you dislike about PostHog?**

AI still struggles to write coherent SQL queries when finely filtered data is needed.

**What problems is PostHog solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I use PostHog to monitor the views on my site, accurately track the number of listeners on my radio, and track the web vitals.

 ### 16. Must-have for devs

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Randy E. | ML Engineer, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** September 21, 2025

**What do you like best about PostHog?**

Almost everything:

- Super cool branding. The PostHog experience is sort of gamified in a non-cringe way which is very hard to do.

- Freemium is a steal. And even if you started paying, the value you get is >>>

- Can copy the docs as markdown which makes it very LLM-friendly for AI coding purposes

- their ceo james is the funniest guy on linkedin

**What do you dislike about PostHog?**

UI can get a bit overwhelming. Map wasn’t showing the countries & I had a hard time figuring out how to fix it.

**What problems is PostHog solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Answers the question “Why are Users leaving my app”

And fix the whys.

 ### 17. It started

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Henrique S. | Director of engineer, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** October 12, 2025

**What do you like best about PostHog?**

The tool works and MaxAI is very handy. I also like how quickly they fix the bugs. I like how easy was to setup the tool and the integrations.

**What do you dislike about PostHog?**

It does a lot of things and it took me awhile to understand how they really connect. At the start i was a bit lost on how the options and functionality, i did not know what should I use PostHog for.

**What problems is PostHog solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Aggregating all the data in one application and able to reduce the number of tools required to do the work.

 ### 18. But can Posthog do th.... Of course it can

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Joshua P. | Principle Engineer, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** June 11, 2025

**What do you like best about PostHog?**

Posthog understand what you need from usage analytics and feature flags. Every thing I need for getting their suite of tools implemented into my Next.js project was a breeze. I barely had to think to get it integrated and working. Its a tool I keep coming back to and if I need support their wiki is FULL of great info on how to do what you want.

**What do you dislike about PostHog?**

I can't get a REAL hedgehog on my desk. I haven't come across something it did poorly or I couldn't do so as it stands there is nothing I dislike about Posthog. When I am setting up new projects, using Posthog is a no-brainer

**What problems is PostHog solving and how is that benefiting you?**

We need feature flags, easily and ASAP for our greenfield solution. Posthog was something I'd seen used previously and gave it a shot in a Next.js project. Their docs had everything and got feature flags into our solution in under an hour, this really makes developing new features behind flags a BREEZE. Which means we can deploy smaller changes without worrying about user getting incomplete features

 ### 19. Swiss knife for product launch

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Felipe S. | Frontend Software Engineer , Information Technology and Services, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** September 18, 2025

**What do you like best about PostHog?**

I love having most, if not all, of the tools anyone needs to launch a digital product: analytics, monitoring, surveys, and so forth. I have used all these tools in companies that invest hundreds of thousands of dollars in separate tools. With PostHog, you have them all in a single place for a fraction of the price.

**What do you dislike about PostHog?**

Honestly, so far, I don't dislike anything. To be picky, I could say that the information is very dense, but for a tool like this, it can be expected.

**What problems is PostHog solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Basically knowing if people is using my app and if they have issues using it.

 ### 20. Unique tool for understanding customer behavior

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Human Resources | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** September 29, 2025

**What do you like best about PostHog?**

There is no guesswork involved. It helps me gather data for problems I am trying to solve with real session replays from real customers, that tell me how they use our product. It also is an invaluable tool to have at our disposal for resolving customer support issues.

**What do you dislike about PostHog?**

There's a bit of a learning curve with configurations and reporting, but I think that is to be expected with this type of tool.

**What problems is PostHog solving and how is that benefiting you?**

It's helping me understand how our product is used by customers instead of us having to guess based on customer questions alone. This helps us shape our product refinements and prioritize new features and enhancement. Secondly, it helps us troubleshoot where things went wrong with customers when they run into issues, which provides a quicker path to reproduce and resolve errors.

 ### 21. Very helpful with an extremely generous free plan

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Michael D. | I’m a solo dev, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** June 30, 2025

**What do you like best about PostHog?**

I honestly don’t even use all of their features, which is great. Without even having to pay you get so much stuff just for completely free. I just use analytics but I could set up feature flags and so much more very quickly.

**What do you dislike about PostHog?**

Honestly not much. I don’t have many complaints, but I guess the layout could be clearer because it’s just so powerful that I’m not even sure what everything does.

**What problems is PostHog solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I didn’t know how many people were using on my site, or how long they were spending, or if they were coming back. I’m able to track that now, without invading on my users’ privacy or giving their data to a mega corporation. And that helps me make a better product because I can reach out to people who dropped off and fix what they didn’t like.

 ### 22. Overwhelming Metrics, Needs Simplified Dashboard

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Isiah C. | Founder and CEO, Environmental Services, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** September 08, 2025

**What do you like best about PostHog?**

I appreciate that PostHog provides a comprehensive layer of additional website analytics, making it possible to record and analyze the customer experience on my website. This feature allows me to observe where users click, spend time, or exit, helping to identify and patch any issues that may cause visitors to leave prematurely.

**What do you dislike about PostHog?**

I find the software overwhelming and confusing due to the multitude of metrics provided. The dashboard lacks simplicity and front-and-center guidance on the most important metrics I should care about. Navigating through the platform, especially with the complex left sidebar and titles that aren't self-explanatory, is challenging, particularly for those unfamiliar with marketing lingo. Additionally, this audio interview feature is frustrating, making me want to exit the interview process.

**What problems is PostHog solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I use PostHog to gain additional website analytics, allowing me to understand customer interactions and optimize retention by patching drop-off points.

 ### 23. Posthog is the best analytical software I've tried out.

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Damian G. | Founder, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** August 27, 2025

**What do you like best about PostHog?**

Very easy to setup and start viewing data straight away, by far my most user friendly experience.

**What do you dislike about PostHog?**

I can't think of any. There is a bit of a learning curve with all the capabilities it can do, but that's it.

**What problems is PostHog solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Without website data I feel that your business will be in the dark, especially if you have marketing campaigns that drive traffic towards your website, you have products, or you are testing user experience. PostHog allows me to do all of this and keep track of my data, allowing me to make small improvements and experiments overtime, and I can see exactly how that effects my average analytical data received.

 ### 24. Powerful All-in-One Platform, But Desktop-Like Design Needs Improvement

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Yassine H. | CTO, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** November 02, 2025

**What do you like best about PostHog?**

This platform provides seamless integration with Next.js and brings together an extensive set of features, making it a robust all-in-one solution.

**What do you dislike about PostHog?**

The new landing page desktop-like design is confusing.

**What problems is PostHog solving and how is that benefiting you?**

This platform eliminates the hassle of switching between different tools, as it combines Product Analytics, Error Tracking, and Web Analytics all in one place. From an agency perspective, where time is crucial, having everything on a single platform allows us to access the information we need quickly.

 ### 25. Fast Setup, Comprehensive Analytics with Minor UI Clutter

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Stéfano A.

**Reviewed Date:** December 19, 2025

**What do you like best about PostHog?**

I like that PostHog is super fast to use and I could branch it to our project in less than two days. The initial setup was super simple.

**What do you dislike about PostHog?**

I think we could see a little bit less of cluttering. I'd like to be able to customize the sidebars and collapse them. But aside from that, it's working well.

**What problems is PostHog solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I use PostHog for monitoring user interactions and launching features, which helps catch anomalous events and provides analytics. It also streamlines platform integration, branching to our project in less than two days.

 ### 26. Intuitive UI, Easy Integration with Slack

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Gabe D.

**Reviewed Date:** January 18, 2026

**What do you like best about PostHog?**

I really like the informative and easy-to-use UI of PostHog. It makes it incredibly easy for us to integrate app notifications in Slack and add feature flags with extreme ease. The Slack bot transformation pipelines are super easy to use.

**What do you dislike about PostHog?**

The UI is very intimidating at first. Maybe some easy ways to get started would be nice.

**What problems is PostHog solving and how is that benefiting you?**

PostHog makes it really easy to integrate app notifications in Slack and add feature flags with extreme ease.

 ### 27. Is good and met the purpose

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Sebastian M. | Lead Software Engineer, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** September 23, 2025

**What do you like best about PostHog?**

I love the FF management, rollout features and session recording, support is also good actually

PH is very easy to use for me

**What do you dislike about PostHog?**

Our current PostHog–TypeScript integration isn’t very DRY. Implementing PH in a TS codebase is painful because event payload types aren’t shared. We end up redefining interfaces in the app. The event “shapes” should have a single source of truth and be consumed by the app, not re-modeled there.

**What problems is PostHog solving and how is that benefiting you?**

FF management!, is good to have a centralized and easy to change source of truth :), specially for the dynamism of our working env

 ### 28. Efficient for Event Tracking, but Complexity Can Be Challenging

**Rating:** 3.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Dario P.

**Reviewed Date:** December 22, 2025

**What do you like best about PostHog?**

I use PostHog for tracking events inside my mobile app, and it feels better than Google Analytics, which I used before. I appreciate that it doesn't feel as trashy as Google Analytics did. I like how straightforward the initial setup was.

**What do you dislike about PostHog?**

I feel it's a bit too complicated. Or at least, like, I don't know how to make sense out of the data that I'm getting in.

**What problems is PostHog solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I use PostHog for tracking events in my mobile app. It feels better than Google Analytics and doesn't feel as trash.

 ### 29. Setting up posthog was super easy, the dashboard is very powerful and easy to use.

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Roberto C. | Software Engineer, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** June 01, 2025

**What do you like best about PostHog?**

First, the pricing being this generous for small businesses is a plus.
The dashboard, is surprisingly intuitive and powerful, switching projects check analytics, setting up feedback campaigns is just a click away.

**What do you dislike about PostHog?**

I was confused by exposing the api keys in the application main entry point, I couldn't find significant documentation about the api key scope, because I took some extra measures to secure that information, and therefore I was surprised when I was supposed to add them to the main html file thereafter.

For some reason the feedback widgets in the application keep appearing and disappearing in some browsers, and I could not find a proper way to make them work nor a straight-forward way to debug it.

Lastly, I set up the reverse proxy as documented, but the check didn't respond to the change nor I was able to check it in the quick start guide.

**What problems is PostHog solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Metrics and feedback primarily.

 ### 30. Effortless Setup and Instant Propagation Wins

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Hammad A. | Software Engineering Manager, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** August 24, 2025

**What do you like best about PostHog?**

I love the simplicity and straightforward nature of setting up PostHog, which made integration with our platform surprisingly easy. I greatly appreciate the instantaneous propagation feature, which reliably updates feature flags and experiments without delay. The easy walkthroughs and dummy codes are incredibly helpful and improve our testing process. The software's smooth integration with JavaScript and TypeScript significantly eases adaptation. Overall, my experience with PostHog has been wonderful, deserving a high recommendation.

**What do you dislike about PostHog?**

I find the actual menu and navigation flow in PostHog overwhelming, as there are quite a few things you can do with it. The main page can appear cluttered, which could be improved by allowing users to enable specific services, similar to AWS, to streamline the user experience.

**What problems is PostHog solving and how is that benefiting you?**

PostHog solves the issue of delayed feature flag updates with instantaneous propagation, streamlines setup and integration processes, and offers useful walkthroughs for seamless feature flag experiments.

 ### 31. All-in-One Analytics Platform with Generous Free Credits

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Education Management | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** November 27, 2025

**What do you like best about PostHog?**

They’re an all-in-one platform helping me with all my analytics and error tracking. Their session replay is very useful on top of their A/B testing. Plus I got free credits for one year which is really helpful for my startup!

**What do you dislike about PostHog?**

So far, it has all the features I need. Perhaps cron monitoring would be a good addition.

**What problems is PostHog solving and how is that benefiting you?**

It makes it very easy to implement my needs and the UI is very simple to use too. It solves my needs of analytics and error tracking and this benefits me since I use these to improve my product and iterate often.

 ### 32. All-in-One Solution for Managing People Data and Debugging

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** brandon k. | Software Engineer | Founder, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** December 30, 2025

**What do you like best about PostHog?**

I love how much it can do all I none place! My favorite is probably managing people data as well as viewing sessions to help debug edge cases.

**What do you dislike about PostHog?**

Nothing comes to mind! Keep on rocking!!

**What problems is PostHog solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Customer insights! Understanding customer experiences at an individual level.

 ### 33. Easy to setup and get started

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Information Technology and Services | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** August 25, 2025

**What do you like best about PostHog?**

PostHog was very easy to set up — the onboarding process felt smooth and straightforward. Once inside, the dashboard made it simple to track product metrics, and the AI features added real value by surfacing insights quickly. It’s a powerful tool without being overwhelming, which makes it a great choice for product analytics.

**What do you dislike about PostHog?**

A potential downside of PostHog is that some advanced features can feel a bit complex to configure without digging into the docs.

**What problems is PostHog solving and how is that benefiting you?**

PostHog helps solve the problem of understanding how users actually interact with your product by combining event tracking, session replays, feature flags, and analytics in one place. For me, this means I don’t need to juggle multiple tools — I can quickly see where users drop off, test changes with feature flags, and get AI-powered insights to guide product decisions, which saves time and leads to faster, data-driven improvements.

 ### 34. My experience using PostHog after switching from Datadog

**Rating:** 3.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Facilities Services | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** September 30, 2025

**What do you like best about PostHog?**

The interface is clean across all options, especially in session replay. Switching from one session to another is smooth, and applying or updating filters works seamlessly.

**What do you dislike about PostHog?**

Compared to Datadog, where every single session is separated by the user’s actions, here we only have a screen recording. This makes it harder to pinpoint specific events or actions within a session, where the Datadog helped a lot. While the simple and clean view is helpful in other areas, it downgrades the effectiveness of the dashboard and its analytics.

**What problems is PostHog solving and how is that benefiting you?**

It helps us track user behavior and replay sessions, making it easier to identify issues and understand how users interact with our app and monitor the product performance. This saves time and improves our ability to enhance the user experience.

 ### 35. Transformative analytics experience

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Legal Services | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** January 15, 2023

**What do you like best about PostHog?**

Posthog has transformed the way we do product analytics. We cannot believe how well it has allowed us to replace several other tools in order to basically decimate our analytics saas spend. Love the recordings, especially the way we can retrieve the users console - in a small team where the devs are the product people this is priceless.

**What do you dislike about PostHog?**

What we would really love to see is the ability to do progressive rollouts of features, with the % on a feature flag increasing automatically over time.

**What problems is PostHog solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Allowing us to spend so much less on analytics suites is amazing, as well as the opportunity to see what our users have in their consoles. It is so simple to use that everyone in the business can use it without having to be shown how to.

 ### 36. Simple setup but limited hands-on experience so far

**Rating:** 3.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Christopher D. | Senior Software Engineer, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** August 01, 2025

**What do you like best about PostHog?**

PostHog was straightforward to set up and the initial dashboard looked promising with a lot of built-in analytics features. I liked that it’s open-source and can be self-hosted if needed, which gives flexibility compared to other analytics tools.

**What do you dislike about PostHog?**

I haven’t used it extensively yet, so I can’t comment on deeper functionality. The interface feels a bit overwhelming at first, and some of the advanced features require more configuration than expected.

**What problems is PostHog solving and how is that benefiting you?**

PostHog aims to unify product analytics, session recording, feature flags, and A/B testing into a single platform, reducing the need for multiple tools. For me, the main benefit is having everything in one place without needing to wire together third-party services, especially for self-hosted setups.

 ### 37. Excellent alternative to Google Analytics

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Luis S. | Technology Consultant, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** May 26, 2025

**What do you like best about PostHog?**

I love the session replay feature. It lets me see what users are more interested in. And at the same time I can tweak the site to put the CTA in the best possible places. Also good to find errors or users confused by complex UI.

**What do you dislike about PostHog?**

It's got a steep learning curve. Out of the box, you see barely no information about your site: visitors, the search terms they used to get to the site, the page they landed on... Yes, you can create those views probably, but for people coming from GA it looks like a lot of work just to start. And we need to do that on each site. So it'd be good to offer a "starter template". And if it can look like GA a bit, even better. Onboarding would be so much easier.

**What problems is PostHog solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Helps me measure the interest in my products and services.

 ### 38. Great Product Analytics tool - Less Mainstream and Cheaper

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Consumer Goods | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** September 22, 2025

**What do you like best about PostHog?**

- Session recording with clear picture on where the UX is getting affected.
- The entire usability is very easy. You can label the sessions and then refer to them later
- Analytics dashboard captures accurate data and event tracking is one of the best in the industry
- it was very easy to implement as well. On custom website my tech team took less than 3-4 days to implement posthog

**What do you dislike about PostHog?**

-It is a bit difficult to find the features on the tool

**What problems is PostHog solving and how is that benefiting you?**

- Posthog helps in looking at user journeys and where the drops offs are happening - helping in optimising UI
- It helps in Product analytics data as well which is used as BAU metrics on a day to day basis

 ### 39. Essential Features for User Behavior Analysis

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Andrii S. | Founding Software Engineer - Full-Stack & AI, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** December 28, 2025

**What do you like best about PostHog?**

Features provided by PostHog are extremely important when we analyzing user behavior and retention

**What do you dislike about PostHog?**

Complicated UI is the only that i don’t really like about PostHog

**What problems is PostHog solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Building analytics with funnels and analyzing user behavior and struggles with session replay

 ### 40. Powerful Self-Hosted Product Analytics with Great Flexibility features like session recordings

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Kondrolla D. | Full Stack Developer, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** May 16, 2025

**What do you like best about PostHog?**

PostHog provides an all-in-one product analytics platform that’s developer-friendly and ideal for teams that want full control over their data. I love that it's open source and self-hostable, which ensures complete data ownership. The UI is intuitive, and the event tracking setup is straightforward. Session replays and feature flags are built-in, reducing the need for multiple tools. It’s especially great for engineering-led teams.

**What do you dislike about PostHog?**

While the platform is quite comprehensive, the initial setup for self-hosting can be a bit complex if you're not familiar with Docker or Kubernetes. Also, some advanced features may require configuration via code files, which could be challenging for non-technical users. The documentation is helpful, but there's room for improvement in clarity and examples for edge cases.

**What problems is PostHog solving and how is that benefiting you?**

We needed a reliable, privacy-compliant analytics tool that wouldn't compromise our user data. PostHog helps us track product usage, analyze funnels, and make informed feature decisions, all while self-hosting. The session recordings have been particularly helpful for understanding user behavior and identifying UX issues. The built-in feature flags also let us test features without deploying them to everyone.

 ### 41. Effortless Auto Instrumentation for Web and Mobile Apps

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Consulting | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** December 30, 2025

**What do you like best about PostHog?**

I like the auto instrumentation for web/mobile applications. This helps me get all the baseline events for the team to use

**What do you dislike about PostHog?**

Hmm, I would say as a consultant it is hard sometimes to get non product people to understand the platform. Which is honestly more so their issue and they shouldn't be the ones paying for this.

**What problems is PostHog solving and how is that benefiting you?**

PostHog is helping with event collection and showing valuable analytics quickly for startups that I am helping out.

 ### 42. Best User Experience.

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Saud S. | Senior Frontend Developer, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** July 10, 2025

**What do you like best about PostHog?**

One of the best things about PostHog is its session recording feature. It lets us see exactly how users interact with our app, almost like watching their experience in real time. It’s incredibly useful.

**What do you dislike about PostHog?**

Sometimes I need to access the Events section, which is supposed to be in the left menu. Right now, I have to use the search filter to find event data. Also, the filter UI is broken, it overlaps with the project name.

**What problems is PostHog solving and how is that benefiting you?**

PostHog helps me track how users behave on our app and run A/B tests to see which features get more engagement. This way, I can figure out what actually attracts users instead of just guessing. It saves a lot of time and makes decisions more data-driven.

 ### 43. Easy Cohorts and Affordable Session Replay, but Masking Labels Limit Deeper Insights

**Rating:** 3.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Ramji D. | Software Engineer, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** March 14, 2026

**What do you like best about PostHog?**

It’s easy to create cohorts, and the session replay doesn’t come with high charges.

**What do you dislike about PostHog?**

The masking labels on session replays make it hard for us to get deeper insights into user behavior.

**What problems is PostHog solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Feature management, analytics, and user behaviours.

 ### 44. Effortless Setup, Comprehensive Analytics

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Henry P.

**Reviewed Date:** January 10, 2026

**What do you like best about PostHog?**

I find PostHog simple to set up, which is a big plus for me. The ease and straightforwardness of the initial setup make it my go-to tool. I also appreciate that it works pretty well overall for my needs.

**What do you dislike about PostHog?**

I find the dashboard UI can be overwhelming.

**What problems is PostHog solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I use PostHog for analytics for my apps. It helps me get an overview of how users interact with them.

 ### 45. Effortless Setup, Powerful Insights

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Rui B.

**Reviewed Date:** January 26, 2026

**What do you like best about PostHog?**

I enjoy the simplicity of using PostHog and the great team behind the project. The open-source aspect and the generous free tier are fantastic additions. The setup process was really easy to follow, making it convenient to get started.

**What do you dislike about PostHog?**

Nothing to share here.

**What problems is PostHog solving and how is that benefiting you?**

PostHog helps me know where the users are on my website and what they do.

 ### 46. Seems to do it all

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Adam K. | Vice President, Development, Computer Software, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** May 07, 2025

**What do you like best about PostHog?**

I like that PostHog has integrated many of the commonly useful *Ops tools into a single solution with a single method of code integration. All of the tools seem to hit on major functionality compared to other tools on the market. Of course, all of this comes down to value for dollar, and PostHog is succeeding at letting me scale the cost of these tools, alongside my usage.

**What do you dislike about PostHog?**

With a large number of tools, letting non-technical users find value is always a challenge.
A little more specific. I would like to see PostHog most directly support OpenFeature (feature flags). There is an open source project but I can't tell if PostHog is involved with that project.

**What problems is PostHog solving and how is that benefiting you?**

We're using PostHog to analyze user behavior in order to validate that engineering efforts are achieving user-behavior driven outcomes. This is a huge benefit as it allows us to validate user behavior naturally as users utilize our web application.

 ### 47. Robust Features, Effortless Setup with AI

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** muayyid f. | Software eng, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** September 30, 2025

**What do you like best about PostHog?**

I appreciate that PostHog offers a rich feature set while being on par with other tools in ease of setup, facilitated by AI to configure my NextJS environment quickly. I find the session replay and error-solving capabilities particularly invaluable. The platform's comprehensive analytics seem powerful for understanding user behavior, crucial for my projects. The pricing aligns well with the extensive features offered, making it a great deal.

**What do you dislike about PostHog?**

I find that it can be confusing sometimes and it needs some time to get used to.

**What problems is PostHog solving and how is that benefiting you?**

PostHog allows me to track user engagement, conversion rates, and catch bugs, offering rich analytics with added features like session replay and error tracking, enhancing my project insights and ad effectiveness.

 ### 48. Smooth and nice looking UI

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Motion Pictures and Film | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** June 23, 2025

**What do you like best about PostHog?**

Easy to understan, yet powerful when needed (like the sql editor). The UI is very nice looking and the experience feels very smooth and responsive. It was super smooth to integrate with next js. The implementation I didn't even need to touch (to start with at least). I have no experience with customer support. I've used post hog for about 3 months of and on.

**What do you dislike about PostHog?**

It's an all-in-on solution. It's both a positive and a negative of course but at the end of the day you need to convince the client to take the whole package. Maybe you don't have to use all of the features but if feels like it.

**What problems is PostHog solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I get everything that I need in a easy to use package, very cheaply.

 ### 49. Loving it!

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Chris L. | Senior Software Engineer, Founder, Product Manager, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** July 20, 2025

**What do you like best about PostHog?**

There are so many things, where to start?
Very generous free tier, easy to view and setup events & insights on the dashboard, the number of features included in the free tier is staggering.

I was shocked that Session Replays and Surveys were also included. These features are fantastic! I also love the design & look and feel of the site.

**What do you dislike about PostHog?**

I have yet to find any downsides! Setting it up in my project was very easy.

**What problems is PostHog solving and how is that benefiting you?**

It's helping me understand, not just traffic to my site, but also how people use my site. It has helped me identify and fix confusing UI decisions (Session Replay) and also collect feedback (Surveys).

 ### 50. Excelent tool for support and managing large scale applications.

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Iván Sebastián M. | Software Engineer Mid Senior, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** September 25, 2025

**What do you like best about PostHog?**

Session replays are a big life-saver whenever we are having trouble with our customers.

**What do you dislike about PostHog?**

Data retention is a big struggle for us sometimes.

**What problems is PostHog solving and how is that benefiting you?**

At first we were having lots of trouble with customer support on our React Native app, and we needed to watch real-time user interactions to solve those problems/catch bugs/inconsistency. Session replays changed the game completely by giving us a full logging tool to not only watch video playback but insights, payloads and backend calls too.
