Most of our products, including RStudio Workbench, RStudio Connect, and RStudio Team, are priced per user per year, because we believe that this is the best way to deliver simple, predictable, and flexible pricing. Per user pricing is a natural fit for accommodating compute environments (e.g., a Kubernetes cluster) that dynamically scale resources as needed, where a “per-server license” just doesn’t make sense. In addition, this lets our customers avoid the cost and effort of having to count and manage different types of users.

Unlike many user-priced products, our per-user prices decline as the number of users increase, to reflect that in larger communities of users, there may be people who use our products less frequently, and therefore should pay less.
