Portworx provides niche solution in area of Kubernetes (k8), especially storage and backup services, are really market leader. Portworx solve Kubernetes Backup and Data Protection and store volume problems. If you are worked on k8 platform main challenges are shared stoarge and backup of k8 workload and restore entire workload on any other k8 platform on-prem or cloud. PX backup gives such capability to restore, it can be automated and with self service portal restore could be achieved in in few minutes. Pure Storage acquired data service platform Portworx in Sep'2020; even before its acquisition, Portworx was a niche and new technology trying to solve some critical problems of Kubernetes (k8), which is related to volumes attached with worker nodes and backup of containers. After the PureStorage acquisition, the offering became more mature, and we are now seeing good documentation and white papers backed by PureStorage customer support. With Portworx Software Defined Storage and Portworx backup for K8 landscape available in hybrid cloud mode and As A Service mode, it is a win-win situation for Portworx and their customers. Installation and configuration are easy, which is needed for all enterprises these days. Portworx (PX) provides storage and backup services in the Kubernetes area. For people who use PX storage which solves big problem of storage volume by giving PX storage and similarly Kubernetes Backup and Data Protection, PX backup is next generation solution. I have been an evaluator of PX technologies for my customers from many verticals and found it to be a workable solution in Kubernetes.
