"Making Product and Team Workflows Seamless"
What do you like best about Plane?

Plane is simple to set up with a clean, intuitive UI/UX that makes onboarding quick and effortless. As a product company, it’s been invaluable for tracking product development plans, marketing and sales work items, and customer requests — all in one place. It makes progress measurable and keeps everyone aligned. The mobile app is also a great companion, making it easy to stay on top of tasks anywhere. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Plane?

An excellent tool for managing product development and team workflows, with strong potential to become even better as integrations and AI features evolve. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"It has been productive using the plane, its inexpensive and accessible"
What do you like best about Plane?

Its provides an option of being open source, as a SME it is a good alternative as no other project management tool gives this. option. It is easy to use as the user interface is something you get use to. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Plane?

Some additional features like linking your code versioning tool for e.g git lab, git hub, bitbucket is not available. So it not easy to link the user stories with the codebase. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"A refreshingly simple tool that does exactly what our team needs"
What do you like best about Plane?

Plane hits the sweet spot between flexibility and simplicity. We're a small team juggling multiple projects across design, dev, and ops, and Plane has helped us bring structure without the usual complexity that comes with project management tools. The Pages feature is a quiet hero, we use it for documentation and context sharing right next to our tasks. Also, onboarding new team members has been a breeze thanks to the clean UI. What do you dislike about Plane?

Nothing major so far. We’re on the free plan, and it’s handled everything we’ve thrown at it. Would be great to see a few more workflow customizations or integrations over time, but we’re not really feeling the need yet. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"Plane became our management tool due to its great UX and vast toolset"
What do you like best about Plane?

We needed a project management software that was simple but allowed us to easily trace the tasks done by our product, development and quality assurance teams. This was easily handled by plane and in recent versions it has even facilitated our progress reports with its newest charts' features!

In my experience, Jira was too much, while asana was too simple, and clickup too convoluted... Plane's UI, on the other hand, has the most amount of information possible in a simple and beautiful UI. Our company uses it on an everyday basis and we count with all the features we need: time tracking, task estimation, traceability matrix features, gantt diagram visualization, OpenIDC integration, an API that allows us to expand upon it, heck, we even host our own database so we can create anything we want with said data.

The price isn't that steep, yet it presents a really competitive solution for project management because of the fact that it combines several software use cases into a single product, and the learning curve is practically null. Besides, the support I've received from both the discord server (both from the community and the company's collaborators) has been pretty efficient and warm, so I'm really happy with this software overall. What do you dislike about Plane?

To be honest, I would love it if the company maintained better communication; the sunset of Plane One was definitely unexpected to me, and since I was on board with said plan, it would be great to know if there will be a way to continue with said plan in the mid-term future. "Why I Switched From Asana to Plane"
What do you like best about Plane?

Self‑Hosting Freedom

One of the biggest pulls for me was Plane’s support for self‑hosting. Rather than surrendering all my data to a cloud vendor, I spin up Plane on my own servers (or in my private cloud) and maintain full control over backups, compliance, and uptime. This isn’t just a checkbox feature—it’s seamless to deploy (Docker‑ready, Kubernetes‑friendly) and integrates with my company’s existing identity and monitoring tools.

A UI That Hits Every Mark

Plane’s interface feels fresh without sacrificing familiarity. Task lists, boards, timelines and calendars are all laid out with generous whitespace, intuitive drag‑and‑drop interactions.

Comprehensive Feature Set

From nested subtasks and custom fields to dependencies, milestones, and multi‑project portfolios, Plane has a toolkit that rivals any heavyweight in this category. I especially appreciate:

• Workspace and Project Views, which let me slice my task backlog however I like.

• Built‑in time tracking with per‑task timers and reports.

• Automations, so routine work (assigning reviewers, moving tasks on status change) just happens. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Plane?

Mobile polish. I'd love to see a native iOS/Android app for Plane. The UI is responsive enough to use in a mobile web browser, but it's not perfect. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"Easy to get started with project management"
What do you like best about Plane?

Super easy to get started on.

We use it daily in our Product team.

Many settings that you can use to get Plane working like you would want it to.

It's nice that you can both have shared Project spaces and your own personal Project space.

Nice clean UI and easily understandable UX.

Their customer support is quick and gives usable answers, and they are open to suggestions. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Plane?

We miss more customizable fields.

Better reports that can be set up just like we need them.

Loading is sometimes a bit slow. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"Solid project management tool with a short learning curve"
What do you like best about Plane?

I needed to quickly enroll ±25 people in a project management tool, and Plane did the job.

My primary concern was that most users aren't very technical, so I was looking for a solution with not too many bells and whistles, or at least a way to hide them from most users. Plane helped me with that, and a complete deployment with migration from a previous solution took less than 2 weeks.

One special highlight is how snappy the Plane is when you drive it daily. I can juggle between hundreds of tasks, and it never lags. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Plane?

Analytics is rudimentary, and custom issue types require a higher license tier. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"Evolving Project Management Platform"
What do you like best about Plane?

They seem to care quite a bit about the future of the product. It constantly is getting new features and updates. There are opportunities to tie it in with other services and the product can be pretty robust Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Plane?

The visual and workflow design of the entire product is familiar for those that are "techy", but not very friendly for those that are not well versed in technology. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"Perfect clean alternative to Jira"
What do you like best about Plane?

Plane delivers a refreshingly simple and clear project management experience, making it an excellent alternative to Jira. Its minimalistic design ensures tasks are easy to categorize, track, and manage without unnecessary complexity. The integrated note-taking feature adds an extra layer of efficiency, allowing seamless documentation within workflows. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Plane?

Plane doesn't have desktop app, currently using it via web catalog. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
