"Plane Combines Jira’s Power with Monday.com’s Simplicity"
5/5
What do you like best about Plane?

Jira meets Monday.com — in a really good way

I’ve worked with Jira and Monday.com for years, and Plane genuinely feels like it combines the best of both worlds.

It has the structure and flexibility I liked about Jira, but with the simplicity and clean experience I appreciated in Monday.com — without feeling overloaded.

What stands out most: Plane is powerful, intuitive and simply enjoyable to use. I spend less time managing the tool and more time actually managing the work.

Very happy with the switch. Definitely worth trying if you’re looking for a modern alternative to the usual project management platforms. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Plane?

Plane is evolving quickly, although the roadmap doesn’t always move quite at our pace. A few workflow details are still missing for us — for example, @mentions in page comments don’t yet trigger notifications, and work items created directly from a page aren’t automatically linked back to that page.

These are relatively small things, but improving them would make the collaboration experience even more seamless. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"Intuitive UI with Cost-Effective Task Tracking"
5/5
What do you like best about Plane?

I really enjoy the intuitive nature of Plane's UI. Anyone can pick it up and use it, especially if they have used other task tracking or wiki software before. The ease of use makes a huge difference for our team. We want something easy to learn and drop-in and drop-out of so they can focus on the actual tasks at hand in engine, not spending too much time organizing their work. Plane helps us keep track of who is doing what at any given time, and gives us a historical repository of work that was completed per sprint. The initial setup was super easy, we were up and running within a day. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Plane?

It's funny, any time you use a tool like Plane, you realize there were small quality of life fixes that are available in other software out there. Plane has done a great job of implementing areas that the software may be lacking but there are still some edge cases where they could help when it comes to bulk editing and tracking open versus closed tasks. "Simple, Slick Interface with Feature-Rich AI Agent Integration"
5/5
What do you like best about Plane?

I really like its simplicity and slick interface, along with the many features it offers and how easily it can be integrated with AI agents. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Plane?

It still feels a bit unpolished. The text editor has a few quirks (I’d really love to be able to use markdown!), and the permissions (RBAC) aren’t easy to configure. That said, it’s improving quickly. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

The ease of use, clear structure, and well-organized taxonomy make my work easier. I also like the way cycles are defined and how pages are connected to each work item. Because of this, my dependency on other apps has reduced. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

Occasional UI quirks that require extra clicks and refreshes. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"Streamlined Production Tracking with Room for Growth"
4/5
What do you like best about Plane?

I value Plane's clean, uncluttered user interface and straightforward task organization, which fits perfectly for our small plastics manufacturing team at Nova Plastic Manufacturing Group. Many competing project management platforms are loaded with confusing advanced modules built for software teams, which would overwhelm our workshop supervisors with limited technical experience. I appreciate how reliably Plane works on mobile browsers. Our shift leads spend most of their time walking between molding machines, and they can pull up assigned production tasks on their phones anytime without returning to the office. A few weeks ago, we received an urgent rush order for custom plastic housings. I quickly rearranged tasks on the Kanban board to reprioritize this batch, updating raw material preparation and machine setup timelines. Every staff member saw the adjusted schedule instantly, and we avoided resource conflicts over our injection molding equipment. The simplicity of Plane allows me to build customized board views for different product lines in minutes, no complicated setup required. I rely on Telagus for quick team chat, while Plane acts as the official record of all production timelines. It eliminates messy paper checklists and disjointed message threads where critical production details get lost. All raw material scheduling, shift handover arrangements and batch production tracking are visible to relevant staff. Instead of wasting hours learning and navigating bloated software, I can focus on resolving real operational problems on the shop floor, such as delayed resin deliveries or routine equipment maintenance. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Plane?

First, the reporting capabilities are fairly limited. Management regularly requests summaries of completed production batches, delayed customer orders and machine downtime trends. Plane does not offer customizable dashboards, nor can it export data formatted to match our factory’s official record templates. Last month, one of our long-term resin suppliers experienced delivery delays, creating multiple stalled production runs. I spent several hours manually copying task data into Google Sheets to compile the weekly operational overview for leadership. If filtered, formatted reports could be generated within Plane, I would cut down hours of repetitive data entry each week. I also found the file attachment handling restrictive. I frequently pair production tasks with material spec sheets, mold technical drawings and quality inspection checklists. Plane enforces strict file size limits and does not support bulk uploads. Our full technical documents are saved on ownCloud, so I have to paste external links into each task description. When our night shift supervisors prepared for a new molding batch recently, they had to toggle between Plane and cloud storage repeatedly to access drawings. This extra friction slows down preparation work and creates unnecessary interruptions on the production floor. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"Promising Features Hampered by Unpolished UI"
3/5
What do you like best about Plane?

I love that Plane is self-hosted and has almost all features needed for a basic task management application. I also appreciate that you can edit whatever you like and create personal API tokens. Being able to self-host is important for managing sensitive data, and the personal API tokens allow me to integrate Plane with other applications like GitHub, which automatically closes tasks when a PR is closed. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Plane?

I think Plane in general is very unpolished. The UI lags very much, the application won't load until the cache is cleared which was so bad we had to make a custom UI that proxies the application on the frontend because the JS wasn't loading. There are certain features such as an image viewer that are not present in the application, so we need to download the image in order to view it. The UI is also really confusing, where an average Joe or a project manager would have difficulty assigning permissions or managing the application. I think the UI needs an overhaul in general. The main improvements needed would be allowing for preview of attached screenshots, fixing loading of the latest assets such as JS which is vital to the application, allowing for more events on the webhook, and a simpler UI. It's far too unstable to be used in a production environment. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"Making Product and Team Workflows Seamless"
5/5
What do you like best about Plane?

Plane is simple to set up with a clean, intuitive UI/UX that makes onboarding quick and effortless. As a product company, it’s been invaluable for tracking product development plans, marketing and sales work items, and customer requests — all in one place. It makes progress measurable and keeps everyone aligned. The mobile app is also a great companion, making it easy to stay on top of tasks anywhere. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"It has been productive using the plane, its inexpensive and accessible"
4/5
What do you like best about Plane?

Its provides an option of being open source, as a SME it is a good alternative as no other project management tool gives this. option. It is easy to use as the user interface is something you get use to. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

Some additional features like linking your code versioning tool for e.g git lab, git hub, bitbucket is not available. So it not easy to link the user stories with the codebase. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
