"A game changer for private market research"

What do you like best about PitchBook?

I really like the data that PitchBook has from private markets. Our detailed financials, market analysis and company profiles allow us to make quick investment decisions based on a straight up view of our potential investments. With it integration with Excel we can easily export and analyze datas in excel and thereby save our time in generating reports. Secondly, it provides us with research tools such as tracking industry trends and competitors as well as giving our team an edge on how our products can sit on the market. What do you dislike about PitchBook?

A limitation to PitchBook is the ability of the platform to take time to retrieve data especially when working with a larger data set. This lag is really inconvenient when we’re urgently in peril of needed data during the meetings or our presentations. Still, another prospect is that some fields may contain stale information or lack certain data altogether which is why we have to check with third parties occasionally. These are wrong hiccups, which slow our productivity and create more steps to follow in any research we are undertaking. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What problems is PitchBook solving and how is that benefiting you?

Through centralizing a boom of private market data, PitchBook has tremendously improved how we research investments. In the past we would spend hours trying to put together information from many different places, but now we can get financials, valuations, and trends in one place fast. It saves time for our team and it helps us make better decisions. In addition, the platform’s analytics tools give us important information, allowing us to examine risk better and make smarter investing decisions with resultant better client outcomes. What do you dislike about PitchBook?

Companies have to be assured that the benefits of licenses exceed the cost! New users need real examples that are meaningful when trained - they only need to ask! I think this would result in more frequent use and integration into everyday use. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What problems is PitchBook solving and how is that benefiting you?

An unusual engagement, and not how I generally employ Pitchbook but have had success, in identifying potential Board members for a non-profit. PitchBook has data regarding the investors, funding deals, financials, and valuations that no other database covers in such a comprehensive manner.
