# Which conversational marketing tools handle bot-to-human handoff smoothly in live chat?

It also flags high-risk or sensitive topics for an automatic handoff rather than trying to push through them.

Drift: routes qualifying visitors straight to a live rep by account and deal size through its playbook builder, so the handoff triggers on intent signals rather than a stuck flow or a keyword match.

HubSpot Marketing Hub: the Breeze Customer Agent hands off to HubSpot live chat mid-conversation, and the visitor stays in the same chat window with the full history carried over to the human rep.

Qualified: a sales rep can join a live chat already in progress and see the full conversation history, so Piper, its AI SDR agent, doesn't need to restart the conversation before routing to a person.

We ran Drift for about a year and the handoff worked fine when intent signals were clean, but ambiguous chats just sat in bot purgatory longer than they should have. Ended up needing a manual escalation button anyway because relying purely on triggers made reps nervous about missing something. Not sure that's solvable by any tool honestly, feels like a process problem as much as a software one.
