"Comprehensive Data with Room for Improvement"

What do you like best about PitchBook?

I like to understand funding history for private assets using PitchBook. I also appreciate the data export capabilities along with the breadth of private information available. It's an excellent screening resource. The data it offers is quite extensive and I'm always surprised at the information it's able to generate and the detail it has on some of the smaller venture-backed assets. It's great in the venture space. I appreciate how I can sort and filter companies to have a really good lay of the land on the number of assets in the space, what their financing background looks like, revenue / EBITDA estimates, etc. Having the ability to gather this information so easily and then being able to manipulate it outside of the PitchBook platform is useful. What do you dislike about PitchBook?

The Excel plugin is buggy, making it practically unusable compared to CapIQ. The data is much more difficult to audit. I wouldn't recommend using PitchBook as a replacement for CapIQ. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
