**What do you like best about Backstory?**

I've used People.ai across multiple companies, and I can't recommend it enough. The platform has transformed how we manage our sales motion. The insights we gain are invaluable, allowing us to make data-driven decisions that truly impact our bottom line.
The integration with our existing systems was seamless, and the Services team has been brilliant every step of the way. It's clear that People.ai is committed to helping us succeed. 

People.ai gives us reliable visibility into sales activity, account engagement, and stakeholder coverage without relying on manual CRM updates. The insights are genuinely usable for coaching and pipeline inspection, and the org/relationship views help teams navigate complex accounts faster. Integration to our existing systems was straightforward, and Customer Success has been super responsive whenever we’ve needed help.

**What do you dislike about Backstory?**

Nothing, but like any revenue intelligence platform, value depends on a good account hierarchy, underlying CRM hygiene and consistent user adoption.

**What problems is Backstory solving and how is that benefiting you?**

It reduces the “guesswork” in sales execution by turning activity and engagement data into practical, actionable signals for both reps and managers. We use it to improve pipeline quality, spot coverage gaps across stakeholders, meetings, and relationships, and coach reps with objective inputs rather than anecdotes. The net impact is improved sales performance, more productive coaching conversations, and a more consistent operating rhythm across teams, with less time spent chasing updates or stitching together reports.

**What do you like best about Backstory?**

I value People.ai's stellar customer success team. The CSEs truly integrate into the customer's organization and culture, which drives stronger alignment and influences the product roadmap in meaningful ways. I appreciate the true joint partnerships they create rather than transactional relationships. The experience of rolling out PeopleGlass was almost seamless, layering on top of our CRM. We helped co-create our forecasting module, and the partnership was incredible. Soon, People.ai will integrate into our internal AI assistant that the entire organization will use, not just sales. I recommend People.ai highly and am a big advocate.

**What do you like best about Backstory?**

It is generally easy to use. Also, People.ai eliminates the need for manual data entry in Salesforce which is a huge time saver and improves productivity. The ability to automatically log emails and contacts has proved very useful to my team.

**What do you dislike about Backstory?**

The inaccuracies in data interpretation and lack of transparency are my biggest pain points. Also, with AI in general, content is at times low-quality and feels a bit unauthentic and unoriginal. It can take out the creativity aspect.

**What problems is Backstory solving and how is that benefiting you?**

The ability to eliminate manual data entry in Salesforce is huge for my team. It is a big time saver and has made us more productive as a whole. Automations also have been tremendously helpful in the productivity department!

**What do you like best about Backstory?**

PeopleGlass makes updating Salesforce INFINITELY better.  As I am sure you are aware if you are reading this, Salesforce is a major pain to update: Whether its going through 2FA every 20 minutes or scrolling through a bunch of unnecessary fields to get to the meat of the opp.  With PeopleGlass, I can track all my opps in a dynamic, spreadsheet, populate and update fields that matter, and generally save a ton of time and stress.  Whereas before, updating opportunities would take hours and hours and get kicked to the end of my to-do list, I can now easily update opps on the fly.  Forecasting meetings are also much easier to manage because I can just share my screen and clearly walk through my opps.

**What do you dislike about Backstory?**

Honestly, there is nothing I don't like about PeopleGlass.  Maybe that it is too good to be true? But it is true... so I don't know!

**What do you like best about Backstory?**

One work describes PeopleGlass. Simple.

PeopleGlass simplies the steps I take to review/update information in SFDC. Installation/configuration was was. Since using PeopleGlass, I have experienced a reduction in time needed to peform existing tasks.

**What do you dislike about Backstory?**

I've told my colleagues the same message many times. There is no downside to using PeopleGlass. 

I've been a PeopleGlass user for approximately one month and there are still features I'm learning. When I do have questions, the PeopleGlass team have been extremely responsive and do an outstanding job highlighting how I can optimize my PeopleGlass experience.

**What problems is Backstory solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I've been a SFDC user for many years and have significant experience with reports and dashboards. Many of the reports I utilize in SFDC took considerable amount of time to build. After installing PeopleGlass, I was able to build views in minutes in PeopleGlass that took significantly longer in SFDC.

In terms of day-to-day use of PeopleGlass, it's as simple as launching chrome. No need to log into SFDC, search for the report, and modify filters. PeopleGlass makes the process so much easier and faster.

**What do you like best about Backstory?**

Everyone loves a nice organized spreadsheet, but making your own with ever changing sales opportunities is a futile effort. People glass essentially lets me build different 'sheets' / views of my deals, update them in spreadsheet format, and remains in sync with Salesforce. The best part is I needed 0 formal onboarding becasue the process / interface is so intuitive.

**What do you dislike about Backstory?**

Sometimes there is a lag when I am updating many cells at once, though this could be because of my machine. Working closely with our Peopleglass rep to improve this, and it's definitely not a deal breaker.

**What problems is Backstory solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Salesforce is complicated and People glass takes the data from SFDC (our single source of truth) and makes it easy for me to see / update / report on / add to while syncing directly with sales force.

**What do you like best about Backstory?**

Having PeopleGlass saves me time with forecasting, 1:1s with my sellers, pipeline reviews, and collaborating with our extended team. With a modern feel and easy user interface, I set 10 views up in just minutes.

**What do you dislike about Backstory?**

The data pulled from other tools is really the only downside. Not a PeopoleGlass tool issue but ensuring there is clean data from the start is helpful. I will say this tool does allow us to help clean up the data and add/update new information quickly and easily.

**What problems is Backstory solving and how is that benefiting you?**

PeopleGlass saves me time from pulling several different reports in other tools. The ease of collecting the data no only saves me time but helps my reps stay up-to-date on tasks as they see a lot of time saved. With haveing so many members on our teams and extended teams this is an easy way to ensure everyone has the most up-to-date information and allows them to be proactive vs reactive with their sales.

In my role as a sales leader, the ability to quickly pivot a view of my opportunities filtered by any number of criteria on the fly while having conversations with partners, leaders, and AM's I manage has been made infinitely easier.  SFDC takes too long to do any of that without painstaking work to prebuild reports and views.

**What do you dislike about Backstory?**

So far I have not found a great deal of negatives to report.  I had a technical issue, that the PeopleGlass support folks have jumped all over, so I am pleased with the product

**What problems is Backstory solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Ease of managing a large and complex sales region with thousands of oppportunities across multiple cities, and states, with a host of AM's and SA's involved.   The ability to make that easier saves time during my day to work with the actual job of coaching and leadership

I just started using the app. wish there was a way to close opps from people glass.this would make a huge difference. As I continue to work on the app I will discover if there are any other things

The ability to look at my opportunities within my territory. The ability to add contacts, create an opportunity, and have everything synced into Salesforce without having to go back in forth between both.

I really don't have any downsides. The reason I say this is because the tool gives everything a salesperson needs to stay informed on their accounts, opportunities, contacts, and overdue tasks

**What do you like best about Backstory?**

I like the visibility aspect and the way the dashboards and interface appear. It is also user-friendly from a reporting viewing standpoint when comparing team members in terms of productivity.

**What do you dislike about Backstory?**

People.ai has the ability to do well in the future, and we met with individuals at People.ai a few times to discuss the features and abilities, as we were considering using it for account mapping (an upgrade and a bigger expense for us), but it just lacks so much. For instance, it won't pull activity from LinkedIn and Slack, and we run very heavily on those applications on a daily basis. Therefore, the "activity" surrounding both metrics/KPIs for my employees, as well as account health, is never accurate in the slightest.

It semi (see note on where People.ai needs to improve on the last page) helps me track my employee's activity, org chart, and account health, but again, it fails to capture so much data.

**What do you like best about Backstory?**

I like how easy it is to use. People.ai simplifies activity tracking for CSMs, reviewing and evaluating the adoption stage and relationship with a customer.  All activities are logged to SFDC and easily accessible. The new UI allows locating all deals or accounts on the same page and building customizable reports. 
I also love the ability to track and analyze trends in team performance, metrics, and productivity.

**What do you dislike about Backstory?**

Some of the data doesn't seem to be very accurate, while I am not using any dialer tools, it's being recorded in my performance metrics as calls instead of meetings.
People.ai is really helpful for the entire organization, but we mostly use it for reviewing trends in team performance.

Analyzing team performance and trends, building custom reports of deals, accounts, or opportunities, showing levels of engagement with customers, and providing insights into what accounts or opportunities require more attention.

I like how intuitive the solution is. I like the little details, the little clock to show that something has been updated, the ease of building filters, and other little things that make it easy to use.

I occasionally have to refresh my connection, but that should be expected.

It saves me time from having to have multiple screens open. I can update deals quickly and easily on the fly!
Also it helps me plan trips to the field easier.

Reducing the manual effort of recording every conversation.
Configuration & adding new users with auto SF hierarchy is super easy, and articles are of great help.

**What do you dislike about Backstory?**

Not able to capture the physical meetings. It has to be on the calendars for getting captured. Can there be a 2-way flow of info between People.ai and the CRM?

Not all the meetings get synced and need to be validated. Can there be a notification triggered to see what meetings were not synced?

Capturing additional information from events like the type of the meeting etc.

**What problems is Backstory solving and how is that benefiting you?**

-Automated activity Capturing helps minimize the time spent recording customer conversations. This has increased productivity as well.
-Easy-to-digest data that forms the backbone of most of our leading indicators & Activity tracking dashboards

Customer success rep, Oliver, has been nothing shy of forthcoming, insightful, adept at understanding the needs of various Rev org functions and able to pivot on a dime. With the tool's capabilities at the stern and Oliver at the helm, this ship is cruising to success!

**What do you dislike about Backstory?**

Just a challenge to get the lay of the land before CS support. Not a fault of the product, I simply was hired after onboarding

Management of complex, nebulous accounts with multiple segments/opps. Assist to manage actions, work witin contract timelines, survey BoB and prospect accounts holsitically

**What do you like best about Backstory?**

I love the spreadsheet view in PeopleGlass that makes logging multiple updates to a large book of accounts a breeze. I can copy and paste the "Health Last Reviewed Date" to every account I assess on that day. Also, I can simply press Shift+Enter to skip a line when updating long text fields. Salesforce is so slow and clunky, and with the level of reporting rigor expected for a CSM at a public company, PeopleGlass saves me hours of work every week by pushing updates made in a user-friendly UI to the monster that is Salesforce.

**What do you dislike about Backstory?**

Sometimes fields do not get automatically synced from Salesforce to PeopleGlass when our Ops team creates new ones. I'm not sure if this is an issue on our side or People.ai's, but it can be a pain because I need to go into Salesforce for those accounts. Luckily I can click into the account level on Salesforce easily from the PeopleGlass layout page.

**What problems is Backstory solving and how is that benefiting you?**

It saves me hours in my week when logging numerous Salesforce updates. Salesforce takes so long to load and when different fields are stored on different pages, being able to update all the needed information in a spreadsheet format makes all the difference in the world.

The best feature of People.AI and the one I like the best is its data driven insights. Its quite intelligent and dynamic and helps provide insights through analytics is very little time.

**What do you dislike about Backstory?**

Some of the downsides of People.ai and the ones I appreciate the least include its price factor and that its not suited to some industries and domain areas. It probably needs to build more in the latter.

The problems that People.ai is solving include the non-need fo MIS systems and offline recording of data in excel sheets. It also resolves transparency, reporting, and security all in one go.

Tough to force reps to update ClosePlans. Would be helpful to have additional alerts or pings to both managers and reps when they are failing to use the product to its full potential.

How to understand all of the different threads that are currently open in an enterprise sale, and how engaged those threads are. Makes it easier to see which reps require coaching at different stages of our sale.

PeopleGlass saves me time, it makes me focus on the task at hand and allows me to change the way I view my book of business. I love creating new views so I can, for example, look at all my newly activated customers in on glance. It's also just so helpful to understand the "subsets" of groups in my book (for example, ARR size, customer health, etc.)

**What do you dislike about Backstory?**

Wish I had more training on how to get it set up (was a little bit of a confusing process). I also get super frustrated that on a Macbook using Google Chrome, the UX of moving back and forth flips the page back instead of letting me scroll left. I'd also like to see things like a timer to show how much time I spend doing updates or looking at PG or just any stats into usage.

People AI. has given us great visibility into metrics driving our top of sales funnel such as meetings, calls, emails, etc.  Until using the tool, we really did not have visibility into how AE activity was driving success.  We've been able to leverage the reporting and metrics to provide real-time feedback and coaching to our AEs and help everyone optimize success!

**What do you dislike about Backstory?**

Only dislike (which is minor in the grand scheme of things) is being able to tie the analytics and dashboards back to our own SFDC data.  We do a lot of ad-hoc analysis internally using our own data and I would love to be able to pair this analysis w/ the reporting that People AI provides such that it is all consistent across the board.  Not a big deal by any means as this is not our main use case

Gaining insight we wouldn't be able to recognize without it. Saving sales rep's time by reducing manual data entry. Automating the process for adding contacts to the CRM.

It could just be our configuration, but there are many quirks you must know about and work around when reporting on people.ai data. Our client service rep appears to be a bit stretched and can sometimes be slow to respond or follow up on questions. Other than that, she's great to work with.

Some minor bugs in the tool that seem to be taking a while to fix.  From a reporting and dashboard perspective, account planning insights and data are lacking a bit (meaning the reporting could be better on account plans).

People.ai vastly simplifies activity tracking for sales reps - once configured, anything flowing through our email or calendar is logged to SFDC, and associated to the corresponding lead, contact, opportunity, and/or account. Our account team has always been very proactive and more than willing to bend over backwards for us, which is rare to see in many sales tech vendors.

**What do you dislike about Backstory?**

We do spend a lot of time troubleshooting gaps in the matching configuration - this is mainly due to the original implementation settings, and likely caused by poor explanation of our business processes by the original implementers on our side, but it would have been nice to get this ironed out from the get go so we're getting 100% visibility into important account activity.

**What problems is Backstory solving and how is that benefiting you?**

People.ai helps save our reps and managers a ton of time by automating the most mundane task in sales - logging your calls & emails to CRM. With People.ai, we get a strong lineage of communications with customers and prospects, automatically available to the next rep to work an account or territory, without manual sharing of docs & spreadsheets, or trying to coordinate a live knowledge-transfer session.

The ability to track # of meetings without manual rep logging is something I was missing at previous companies that we now have - it's great. We've adopted many of people.ai's products, including the playbook, scorecards and people maps. It's nice to have everything under "one roof," and the tools were not difficult to onboard.  We have a good relationship with the sellers and CSMs at people.ai. We are about to adopt the Account Planning functionality, and I look forward to seeing what lift we get from it.

**What do you dislike about Backstory?**

The people mapping tool is a little bit clunky. I've used LucidChart before and like that better. The ability to export mutual action plans is fantastic, but limited to pdfs and excel for now (not google sheets).

It helps reps understand entry/exit criteria via the playbook. Deal inspection and account reviews are done more uniformly throughout the company.

The platform is very dark when you first log on and when you are searching through the platform. That doesn't bother me too much but I can imagine if someone doesn't like the dark interface that this would bother them a lot more than the average person.

the User Interface; it's intuitive to use and provides a lot of valuable data without making things complicated. That's actually pretty rare for software tools that focus on providing data, so that's definitely the biggest plus. Also, smooth and seamless integration with Salesforce

Some of the data doesn't seem to be very accurate, my closing opportunities insights regularly display opps that are not mine and don't appear in my salesforce pipeline. But to be honest this might very well be an issue on our end

It's a great tool that makes your CRM (in my case Salesforce) more efficient.

**What problems is Backstory solving and how is that benefiting you?**

People.ai provides sales analytics that no other tool that I know of has provided so far, which is active opportunities + engagement. This is useful to quickly identify which opportunities need more interaction, next steps, scheduled meetings, etc. 
Tracking those metrics can quickly become "micro-managementy", but with people.ai it feels much more natural.

What I like the most about PeopleGlass is how easy is to access the data in Salesforce. If I didn't have Peopleglass I would probably need to update SFDC manually and that would take me 10x more time than it does with PG.

I think the team has some opportunity to work on the integrations and ensure that if by any chance there is some error the system needs to notify me to ensure that everything I need goes to SFDC.
